It can be great to have your birthday on a minor holiday: It's easy for people to remember and they actually will think of you. Being born on Christmas or New Year's isn't good, because real celebrations will way overshadow you. But Earth Day is a good landing spot. My older son was born on St. Patrick's Day. I think that worked out nicely.

I remember when I was in law school and pregnant with a due date of March 16th and I said that if it was March 17th, I'd have to name him Patrick, and a fellow student informed me grimly that I did not have to do that. There were some terribly humorless people in law school.; 4/22/13, 7:14 AM
