Is that your yard? It snowed again last night. Not very much, maybe an inch of light fluffy snow, but snow it did. A real heat wave at the present time, 38º with an overcast sky.
Neil Diamond waits alone in a dark room of ripe mystery, deep inside Diamond Manor, ensconced in a leather armchair upon a wine-colored rug, beneath a frosted wedding cake ceiling. Sometimes a shadow moved against a dressing-room blind above, gave way to another shadow, an indefinite procession of shadows, that rouged and powdered in an cognac glass that was set beside the Diamond Phone.
At least once a fortnight a corps of caterers came down with several hundred feet of canvas and enough colored lights to make a Christmas tree of Diamond's enormous garden, but now his mind was elsewhere: something was making him nibble at the edge of stale songs as if his sturdy melodic egotism no longer nourished his lyrical heart.
There are so many questions that come to him on the Diamond Phone, so many People who Need Him and his Words. Today: will the Flowers ever bloom? As a co-writer of "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" he is -- of course -- the Man one would turn to for such Insight.
Neil Diamond paused, fingertips resting on his chin.
Think of the young flowers as girls in our twilight universe, beginning to move again with the season: Girl, you'll be a woman soon.
As a very young boy in PA, the sight of tulips I planted in fall coming up like that in spring would just snap me out of my winter funk and fill me new possibilities. Summer was on it's way, and nothing is better than summer to a young boy.
I don't see a lot season change here in L.A., but even the slight warming at this time of year gives me a little rush.
The view this minute from where I sit sipping tea. Welcome back Spring; we missed you.

I don't think so, they sell them here a lot - at least when I bought that one a few years ago they did. I also have two fireplaces in my house. I'm trying to beat back the coming ice age. I prefer a warmer planet personally.
Beautiful Sunday here in Atlanta. We spent yesterday and last night with the Son at Lake Oconee where he put on a fundraiser they called "Cocktail For a Cure" for the TS Alliance.
It is amazing how many beautiful people live at Lake Oconee. They all socialized to help out the Granddaughter 2 who was born with Tubersclerosis.
They had admission donations and a silent auction of donated items from local resorts. golf courses, restaurants and businesses, held under a large half tent with a band. They raised $18,200.
This has become an annual rite of spring at Lake Oconee. I told the son how proud I am of him which is all I have to do to make him feel good.
The sunlight is starting to shine on trigger happy cops and bad intelligence. Expect cloud cover from the authorities to build and remain in place for some time.
1. Outside the perimeter. 2. Older Bro had gunshot wounds from head to toe. 3. Shooting up the boat when they supposedly want to capture Johar alive. 4. The crazy Russkie mama says that the FBI visited her home frequently. (grain of salt please.) 5. Sleeper cell? 6. Russia trip? 7. Web site (Homeland Security can't read Russian?)
They found these two guys fairly quickly, in spite of the paramilitary overload and too many generals. But what have they failed to find?
"'That so-called radicalization was seeded right here, not in the Caucasus, not in Russia, not in Chechnya, which he has nothing to do with,' Tsarni said.

'twas but a fortnight ago In Colorado The bulbs The lily bulbs The nascent lily bulbs Emerged, no longer dormant Along the dappled sidewalk Beneath bare branches swaying in the wind.
'twas but a week ago In Colorado The snows resumed And the earth subsumed The deathly, dismal cold Of snowflakes and sleet.
And put the bulbs, the nascent lily bulbs Back. Back to rest.
I was so fucking mad about it, too! The bike ride to work was so pleasant with lovely lilies lining the entire way. Then it got cold and killed them all and now it's bleak and dreary. April shouldn't be dreary! It should be rainy and beautiful. Not cold and ghastly. Ooooo I'm so mad.
At the conclusion of this afternoon's game, the Boston Bruins invited several first responder types onto the ice to meet their assigned player who gave them their game sweaters as the announcer explained who they were and what they did. Nice to see the loudest cheer for the trauma surgeon who went from running the marathon directly to the hospital so he could operate (he wound up taking the first patient in as a matter of fact).

Supposed to be near 70 next weekend. I'm anxious to get the bikes out.

I just heard from my mom that Madison is expecting snow or freezing rain.

Morning 4-21-13
@betamax: Don't go confusing Neil Diamond with Gary Puckett
Bagoh20: I thought Chimaneas were illegal in most of L.A.?
Ours finally started coming up last week.
'Bout damned time for this to be over.
Although I think it's just starting for Choom.
FWIW, 2 more hauled off by the Feds and 2 women wheeled away by people in consular vehicles.
Looks like Barry has been working the phones this week.

Here come the clouds. It's getting darker.

Hi Ann,
Be the flower, expose "the public be suckered", please see here:

It's supposed to be 85 here in sunny California today.
Yahoo.
Anyway, did anyone catch Instapundit's link to Thatcher's granddaughter eulogizing her grandmother?
Very impressive.

Thanks for that, Tim. I never go to intsa.
By all accounts that young lady is quite something.
I just now left the strangest message:
Flappy birds day
two jews.
In a brutal Boston accent. For today is my friend's birthday and he's not home.
It was the most idiotic card I ever made and sent off to my older brother who wrote back and said it was the most brilliant card he ever received.
Hey Coketown - better get out and enjoy today. Looks like another snow storm is brewing.
Spring in CO is a cruel b.
I just heard from my mom that Madison is expecting snow or freezing rain.
Nope. That was north of here.
I could go for a warm sunny day though. Every time it's sunny, it's cold. Every time it's warm(ish), it's cloudy.
I know, waaah.

Fucking westboro baptist fucking church.
Seriously--free speech or not, some people need their heads cracked.
That'll larn 'em.
Brilliant Chip.
@Ann,
did something happen to the History of the World (via Wikipedia) series when I wasn't looking?
LOL. Chip
It took me awhile... but once I figured it out I laughed out loud.
I don't think I've ever heard a "bad" pun.
I heard one today about crock pots and crocodiles... and of course I've forgotten it.
