"Juan Antonio Santacruz says he has sold quite a few tacos to Sotomayor, who frequents his Mexican restaurant, Tacos El Chilango."

"Chix and the Greek Spot are two other neighborhood restaurants Sotomayor has patronized.... Sotomayor sometimes stops by the Greek Spot after work to order the gyro platter, the owner says...."

A WaPo slideshow answering the question how Justice Sonia Sotomayor — who lived in the West Village when she was a federal judge in NYC — is adapting to the "distinctive rhythms" of the neighborhood where she lives in Washington. ("Distinctive rhythms" — is that politically correct? ) Here's the related article:
“U Street is the East Village,” said Sotomayor, who keeps a place in Manhattan’s West Village. “The East Village has been developing in the last 10 or 15 years, and I’ve often said if I was going to buy an apartment now, it probably would be in the East Village. So what did I do? I came to Washington and established a home in the East Village.”

I am so sick and tired about hearing about Justice Sotomayor's love of ethnic food, or baseball, or her long-ago divorce, or her feelings about her alcoholic father.

The current issue of Time magazine has a page devoted to "10 Questions with Justice Sotomayor."

Not one question was addressed to anything like judicial philosophty or legal history. It was all like Oprah, in print. The new Sotomayor book is like the memoir of a television personality.

Where's [legal] beef? Is jurisprudence now simply all about the life story of the judge?

"...philosophy..." Sorry for the typo; the t is next to the y.

Maybe "legal philosophty" is a good term for Sotomayor. A combination of philosophy and sophistry.

I'm sure that soon we're going to be hearing stories about Sotomayor hanging out here.

That only takes 5 words: Always rule against the white guy.

Okay, six words.

She probably meant to say "vibrant," instead of "distinctive," but was momentarily distracted.

When are we going to be introduced to her "special friend"?

Why would anyone ever want to be famous? Can you imagine people writing articles about where you eat and what you order?

Hipster buzzword count:

Sotomayor, who moved first to staid Cleveland Park... now lives side by side with members of the city’s diverse class of professionals in a hip, transforming Washington neighborhood once known as the cultural hub of black D.C.

Myself, I prefer the pics and articles about Kate Middleton's baby bump. She's better looking.

When it comes to food, clearly she's an unwise Latina.

They don't discover the problems until they get there. Why would anyone want power/beauty/wealth...?

Yes, but you bear them with equanimity, Madame.

Uh, she's not exactly a shrinking violet:

...she’s been busy plugging her new memoir, “My Beloved World,” on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” and other TV shows.

Why would anyone want power/beauty/wealth? The orgies are fantastic I hear.

""Juan Antonio Santacruz says he has sold quite a few tacos to Sotomayor, who frequents his Mexican restaurant, Tacos El Chilango.""

This raises a conundrum. Can a blog post be the most boring blog post ever? It would seem that such a distinction would in itself make the post interesting, leading to a contradiction.

"My Beloved World"?! This is my world, bitch. Get your own.

Good news, she's a diabetic chowing down on high carb food. Biological solution.

The upsides of fame are less obvious.
