"In the olden days, when leftists wished to argue against gun owners, they claimed that guns were phallic symbols..."

"... and that the excessive love of guns demonstrated latent homosexuality," says William (the commenter), tapping his own memory as "I'm an old man and a living link with the past."
Keep oiling and loading that pisstool, big boy. We know what you're really doing....
Can we not now claim that excessive fear of gun ownership indicates a streak of homophobia? They don't want to ban guns. We know what they really want to ban.

You mean they're not phallic symbols? I've wasted a lot of time and money.

Oh no!

Phallic symbols!?

We can't bring this up in light of gays ---> Pedophilia!

Unfortunately that argument is still around.

A bigger gun is better.

A plus is that a divorce court usually lets the man keep the arsenal so he is not as lonely.

Given that gay sex has killed far more people than semi-automatic rifles in mass shootings, I think we need some common sense gay legislation.

Automatic_Wing said...

Could be. Some anti-gun person on another thread was talking about butt-raping some guy with a baseball bat!

Scary!

In fact, CDC estimates that MSM account for just 2% of the US population, but accounted for 61% of all new HIV infections in 2009. And, since the epidemic began, almost 300,000 MSM with AIDS have died, including an estimated 6,863 in 2009.

We need some common sense gay sex legislation here.

Gun ownership is fairly evenly distributed in Switzerland and throughout the Nordic social welfare states. Here's a link to the Wiki page:

The left is confusing me now. I thought we were supposed to worship Europe, but especially Scandinavia. Now on this particular we're not? I'm confused.

It's also racist and sexist because gun control was first aimed at blacks, and women equalize the strength and safety difference thru guns.

I had a dream last night and there was this rabbit sitting on the ground, kind of sideways, and then the rabbit grew a great big erect penis, which shocked me in the dream, and then the rabbit turned into a puppy and then I woke up.

Jesus Christ, I wish I were making this up.

Liberals feel the same way about cars too so I guess that's why they're so pro mass transit. Its all about feelings with the liberals.

Yeah, you're one sick puppy. LOL

The only way those wang-grabbers are ever getting mine is to pry it from my cold, dead hand.

Anything about white male masculinity the left wants to castrate.

They see angry white penis everywhere and it terrifies them.

I guess because angry white penis gets shit done.

If you remove crime committed by black people from the American statistics, suddenly our gun-homicide rates drop to comparable levels to the left's favorite countries.

Not crimes by the poor, not crimes by the uninsured or disenfranchised or any other rubric. But crimes committed by black people.

Fact.

Oh I thought gunlovers were supposed to be compensatinb because they're underendowed. The left still uses that one, e.g. "sorry about your small penis etc."

Is this old Clarence Carter song about guns or sex?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGVnH39UzI8

I'm confused.

When I get ibe of my rifles out, my shotgun, or pistol and begin cleaning it, I start thinking of this song. I pour a little gun oil on my cleaning rag, and I stroke it. omg. I love to stroke it.

wait a minute.

Is this another example of the attitude about homosexuals changing between 1970 and today?

Or is it the attitude about gun owners?

Because it's not too hard to find people making jokes about gun owners and their small penises...

After all these years I finally get what "Happiness is a Warm Gun" is about.

This doesnt' jive with the current trend towards smaller, concealable pistols for self protection. On the other hand, there's the collapsible rifles you pull out of a case and they get three times as big. Yeah!!

Knives could also be considered phallic symbols. As well as a host of vegetables, fruits, etc.

Annually, nearly 20% of all (14,000) murders are committed by people with knives (or box cutters). The other million with scalpels and vacuums.

Ban scalpels and vacuums.

Some chicks would ban penises if they could, for serious.

I used to read some radical feminist blogs for shits n' giggles, and there were a lot of women that would spend all their time railing against PIV (Penis In Vagina) sex.

Garage, now that makes sense!

Ban penises? Oh noes, I've got several more penis warmers to crochet before Christmas.

Wasn't that S.C.U.M. manifesto? link

Even that author went after Warhol with a gun.

Yeah, I used to go to a website (no longer updated) that reprinted the SCUM manifesto every year.

Your average radical feminist's idea of what constitutes consentual heterosexual sex can only be described as insane.

Of all the many things said about guns, that is probably one of the dumbest. Sometimes a gun is just a gun and sometimes a ignorant asshole is just an ignorant asshole. You no more have a right to an assault weapon than you have a right to a nuclear warhead. And you have no more need of one than the other. And also, "leftists" are no better or worse than "rightists" when it comes to weapons. Some right Wing hero's, Hitler, Mussolini, Franco, did not like guns among the "masses" anymore than Left wing hero's like Lenin or Stalin or Mao. but, reality check, we do not live in those country and in the last 200 years or more no one has ever, legitimately, needed a gun to protect himself from the government in this country. Unless he was a slave in the ante bellum south or a Jim Crow ear African Aemrican. But I think those are not the ones the Right wants to arm.

That's just Waco.

DADvocate said...

What?! I only have a small nuclear warhead. It would only clear out a few blocks.

But I think those are not the ones the Right wants to arm.

The "Right" doesn't want to arm anybody, Billy Boy. That gets expensive. The "Right" and libertarians like me want the government to follow the Constitution and not infringe on the right to bear arms.

Just as no one would ever seriously entertain the phrase “no woman needs two breasts” or “no man needs two testicles” or “no person needs two kidneys” and no one would ever interpret a law as generously granting humans that privilege over and against a prior state in which that was not already a self-evident, pre-existing right, the Second Amendment does not in fact grant “the people” any “right” to “keep and bear arms”, rationally understood as the common personal battle munitions of the day.

Entirely to the contrary, it prohibits government or anyone else from infringing upon that pre-existing condition.

Birches said...

This gun thing is all about fear. Most people who want to ban guns have never held or shot a gun or known anybody that has. That's why they constantly compare gun ownership to things they do understand. They cannot imagine anyone owning a gun for recreational purposes or shooting for sport; its only used for killing people. I used to be like that, then I got married. My husband's work has a shooting range on the property. Do you know how many rocket scientists and engineers shoot for sport? A lot. They are not deranged. They are not interested in killing people.

Birches said...

The same logic on limiting guns and ammunition could be used for limiting how fast a car can go. Why in the world do you want a car that goes 165 mph? You must just love driving recklessly. You're going to kill someone.

No leftist would make that argument though, because they are familiar with cars and not afraid of them

Hagar said...

But Birches, they do make just that argument.
And that is fairly mainstream; the totally loony left wants to ban all combustion engine vehicles and restrict the electric ones to utility vehicles and trucks.
For personal transportation you should walk or ride a bicycle.

I suspect the knee jerk fear of fire arms is learned as a small child, much as the fear of water to drown in is learned.

Getting some folks into the water for a swim lesson is impossible. They know better.

The safest of summer fun is white water rafting. We usually do the Chattooga, of Deliverance fame.

But some people tell me that there is no way I will ever get them to take that chance of certain death.

SGT Ted said...

Oh lefties are all about being homophobic when it can be used to attack any of their political enemies.

They do the same thing when it comes to attacking black people that disagree with their politics.

virgil xenophon said...

@SGT Ted/

Yes, it's simply a matter vof whose ox is being gored at any particular time. Lefties will pick up any convienient argumentative stick (and some real ones too) with which to beat you over a given policy disagreement..

When do people develop an unnatural fear of nuclear technology?

Aside from its two-time use as a weapon, it is one of the safest, productive, and reliable means to produce energy. There are also multiple processes by which it can be exploited for the production of useful energy, which can be reasonable isolated from the environment, with varying degrees of undesirable byproducts.

Nuclear technology is more "green" than other technologies, especially windmills and solar panels, which require extensive displacement (both humans and animals) for general use, and cannot be reasonably isolated from the environment. The latter are disruptive in both development and operation.

The marketing experts deserve to be recognized for their expert manipulation. Still, I have to wonder why it can't, or at least doesn't, work both ways.
