Winston was enjoying the liverwurst until he figured out there was a crushed pill in it. Now he won't eat liverwurst, pill or no. As Lincoln said, a cat won't sit on a hot stove twice but he won't sit on a cold one either.
Three good dogs. Bingo (chocolate) got the one offered Kong because he is oldest and alpha and, besides, he was the first to obey the command and sit. The other 2 had to wait for their Kongs. Then we all went over to Joey and Bingo's backyard and played fetch, fetch, fetch with tennis balls until nap time.
26.9 °F - brisk and windy! All three Labs ran several miles before swimming in Lake Mendota this morning around sunrise. Living large!
Surfed, they already do. Sometimes Joey dives, Bingo gets worried - where'd Joey go? - and then... wait for it... Joey surfaces right under Bingo. HA! It's like a big joke. I haven't seen Zeus go underwater yet but I suspect he eventually will, under Joey's submarine clown master's influence. Bingo swims but he was built for striding on dry land. He could run a thousand miles and still run another marathon and a half and then run some more. Joey and Zeus were born to swim and, every morning, can barely wait to get to the water. I picked up an atl-atl tennis ball launcher thing to lengthen my throws so they can spend more of their time stroking water with their well-webbed paws. If I let them, I'm sure they would swim until their hearts gave out. But I won't let them.
I once needed a lift home from a co-worker and her daughter was there as The Blonde and the pups came out to greet us and she asked her mother, "How come they have three dogs and we only have one?".
I told her, "You see those dogs? Well each of them is like having a bad kid. You don't want three like them".
(I then said, "You see that one over there? She has Alzheimer's; That's like having two bad kids")
rh -- if you speak Polish, you'll be laughing so hard, tears'll stream down your face. The guy uses delightful words, well suited for a a tiny puppy, hilarious when applied to this context.
Poles are so artful in their day to day speaking habits. I always forget that. We're prone to looking for shortcuts in the way we communicate (with dogs or among ourselves) -- not so Poles.
Yorkies have minds of their own. When it coincides with the master's wishes all is good. But that doesn't happen often. They are very intelligent, but if it isn't what they want, just never mind. My Yorkie thinks she should tell me it is nap time because I had a knee transplant a couple of years ago and took naps, now I am required to do so by Miss Sally. She also thinks I am supposed to be off the computer and ready for bed by 8 PM.

mmmm peanut butter.
Well did they?
Why would a God/Dog obey a mere man (or should I say a Meade-man), let alone three God/Dogs?
Woke up to bitter cold in WI this morning. Will tonight be a three-dog-night at the Althouse?
Meade's in a t-shirt?
Is it that warm there?

To the Comanches, the horse was literally a god dog.
PS For Heaven's sake, woman, throw a sweater or a jacket on that poor man.
My springer was sitting next to me and heard "peanut butter". She's searching the house for her Kong.
Our three assume we're trying to dupe them into swallowing pills when they see peanut butter.
Roast poultry works well for the three-fer "sit."

I hope Meade has studied this instructional video showing Saint Bernard attic coaxing.
The same method was used by skiiers in rescuing dogs in the Alps.
Those Labs can swim underwater. Easy to train to do so though probably not this time of year.
A Lab underwater

rh, that was absolutely delightful. Thanks.
Soren, beautiful!

They sure did.
Sure, do it the easy way.
Try it with three Yorkies.
Or just one.
ed, do Yorkies love to please? the way Labs do? I hope not. It's damn near pathetic. :-)
Anything you say boss just give us the food.
Meade, you just know they don't.

David's got it: food=love=food=love...
And Irene. Bits of roasted poultry -- angels.
I've seen a a few lab lead dogs working and retired but it's heartwarming to see blind lab dogs get help too.
