A year ago today at the Wisconsin protests: a camel was tormented by "The Daily Show" and Gov. Walker was pranked with a phone call.

Here's my post about the "Daily Show"'s nauseating exploitation of a camel here in Wisconsin. (But look here to see some good "Daily Show" coverage of the protests from 2/22/11.)

Here's what I had to say about the phone call, in which someone pretended to be David Koch:
Walker opponents would love to make something of this phone call, but all they have are a few over-the-line things the Koch impersonator said like "You gotta crush that union." Walker just ignores that stuff and goes on with his standard points, which is probably the standard strategy that most politicians use when people interact with them....

Doesn't this prank call prove that Scott Walker is not close to Koch? He doesn't recognize his voice! He doesn't drift into a more personal style of speech. He treats him like a generic political supporter.
There was a big "teach-in" at the UW Law School.

That phone call was the camel's nose in the tent of Koch conspiracy!

That made more sense in my head.

I've said it before, but sooner or later, the Left is going to have to face the fact that "Koch Brothers" is not an argument.

The Left tried to pick at the scabs, but ultimately the call was just a failed agent provocateur attempt.

Unless the fact that he took the call at all is supposed to be incriminating?

Can you imagine the shitstorm if Obama got punked by a fake Hoffa call, where Obama and Hoffa were discussing sending in troublemakers into Tea Party rallies? Yeah. I thought so too.

See?

In order for the ends to justify the means.. a lie to unearth a conspiracy.. Walker has to be made into a monster.. ergo Walker = Hitler.

Otherwise it doesn't work.

Walkers opponents have to dehumanise him in order to justify their behavior.

Put it together people.

Yes, but since when does logic matter to them? They needed a scapegoat but tortured a camel instead.

If Obama responded like Walker did, there would be none.

The camel still makes me laugh.I'm not laughing at it, but with it, at us. The camel seemed pissed, though.

Was the camel the high point in Wisconsin politics wackiness?

What's with the walk down memory lane? That was then, this is now. Blogging is insistently now. Yes?

There wouldn't be any kind of storm, garage, let alone a shitstorm, because the MSM wouldn't cover it, or, if they did, would excuse it. It certainly wouldn't be covered the way the overrated Koch call was covered.

They always look pissed. Have you ever seen a happy camel?

Can you imagine if Walker had been introduced by some one vowing "to take these S.O.B.'s out", referring to WEAC. Cuz that's what Hoffa did, and President Jesus just skated on through like always.

Beta Rube nails it. We don't have to imagine it, because we have congruent incidents with asymmetric results.

Another quick Garage Fail!

Isn't beating a dead horse illegal?

Walker didn't look as bad as the prankers.

Trust me, this was good news for Scott Walker. And, John McCain!

It isn't possible for Obama to get punked by a fake Hoffa call, or a fake Trumka call. He gets non-fake calls from them. And White House visits, many real White House visits.

This is like the old series, "You Are There" with Walter Cronkite.

"A day like all days filled with those events that alter and illuminate our times..."

Obama couldn't even be touched by F&F. That's where, you know, people actually died. Hard to imagine a prank phone making much of a dent in god zero's armor.

Ryan Braun wins his appeal. No suspension. Whew who!

Wisconsin is starting to shape up.

I didn't know a camel had been brought to the protest, I hadn't yet found this exceptional media outlet a year ago.

Those gates are like the temporary gates I use for sheep, but only in a well fenced area since some sheep can easily jump them. I hope the camel didn't break a leg getting hung up like that. I can't figure out if the camel owner rents the camel out to any dumbshit who comes by, or if the camel owner is so stupid to use gates that are barely taller than the camel's knees. Call the humane society on the camel owner and where the heck is PETA protesting the exploitation of a poor camel.

wv is only slightly easier without the blob. I was wrong, it's still a pain in the ass.

Everytime I see some screed railing about the Koch brothers conspiracy, I can see the huge tinfoil hat on the head of the author.

SGT Ted said...

Just like a leftist to equate reality with fantasy.

Fake Koch brother call by conspiracy theoist, proof of conspiracy.

Actual public calls to action by Hoffa and SEIU thug Andrew Stern on behalf of OWS and Obama is always the same as an agent provocatuer posing as one of the Kock Brothers trying to burn Gov Walker.

I thought you lefties were into nuance.
