Star Wars. Suitable only for parody.

WISCONSIN FOR THE WIN.

May the force be with you, Governor Walker.

The 'dark side' indeed.

I wonder if the clone troopers were unionized? Would explain a lot.

Yeah, the execution was poor. Get someone who can rap and it would be great. No offense to the creator, but he can't rap.

Illinois guv parody would be a Shawshank Redemption theme.

I thinking more along the lines of "My Governor is The Thing That Wouldn't Leave"

May the farce be with you, methinks.

Too bad the Fleebaggers weren't "The Things That Wouldn't Leave".

They did leave!

Make up your mind.

Nah, more like Jabba the Hut.

It seems like his raps would scan on paper, but he's not giving them the flow in execution.

But you know, he's got heart to do this. It was a tiny bit thrilling to watch.

My mind IS made up on the fleebaggers, and has been since they fled. If they had been the things that wouldn't leave, and had stayed around to do the jobs they were elected to do instead of running away like cowards, things in Wisconsin wouldn't have gotten so out of hand.

Did you even read my post?

Well done, but it's like a million voices cried out and then were silent.

So J, what do you say to professors who display left-wing bias and earn consulting/speaking/writing income outside of their university salaries?

Scott M said...

Because it relates only tenuously to this thread...

Hardware Wars

I think this short was on between every single movie on HBO during the early years.

Okay J, you can start wandering the Capital with your paper bags full of news clippings now. Lighten up - though I have to say asking someone to resign a professorship because of political bias is pretty hilarious.

Ann Althouse said...

As I've noticed reading the forums over at the Isthmus, there are a lot of lefties who are utterly humor-deaf when the other side is being funny. It's like the way they become complete Puritans about anyone on the other side... even though they like to think about themselves as fun-loving and sexually free.

Sofa King said...

That was really, quite terrible.

Wow, it didn't take much to uncover the hate seething under J's thin veneer of self-righteousness.

All I did was ask a logical question, and out flew the insults.

J, if you are serious, please explain why my question represents a "false dichotomy". Because it seems to me that it doesn't.

We generally don't respond to anonymous-cowards too spineless to link to a real blog.

So this trolling is a group activity, not an individual effort?

J experiences seriousness like drunks do moments of clarity.

I love the way J hoists himself on his own petard. Without any help, either. AA does the thinking reader a service by allowing his posts to be read here.

I had to follow up on his disdain for my "anonymous" commenting profile, so I looked at his profile and his blog. Apparently he uses a pseudonym for his blog as well as for the blog's contact email. What a hypocrite! I wonder whose sock puppet he is, and which Occupy pigsty he occupied this Fall. And I'm still waiting for an explanation of my "false dichotomy". If he can't produce one in his next post, I will consider that he loses the argument by default.

J: You should resign your professorship, AA, given your right-wing bias and profiteering.

The ethical thing to do.

J is suddenly concerned with ethics...

I'm more interested in what Ann's press statement will be when J goes all Jared Loughner.

Remember, guys, if you feed trolls, you get more trolls. The trolls' heads grow to mammoth proportion, but, sadly, never quite big enough to actually explode.

They can be eradicated, however, by being allowed to suffer attention starvation.

Do yourselves and others the favor:

Do Not Feed the Trolls!

Contrarian View said...

John, of course you are right. Please indulge me as today is my first encounter with "J". From now on I'll give him/her/it all the attention he/she/it deserves.

"That was really, quite terrible."

It was, wasn't it.

But awesome!

Justin Pangilinan - 327 said...

Well, we fed the troll, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The troll tried to give off this air of supposed superiority but the moment it fell back on potshots and talking points, it lost tremendous amounts of points.

So my rating? C+ Good effort, but you couldn't keep up the pace.

The Clone Wars series on Cartoon Network is surprisingly good. Clearly evident Lucas has zero writing responsibilities on the show.

Banshee said...

All that filming and running and dancing... in and around your state capitol... and nobody noticed? No security guards, no aides, no people without senses of humor?

I've been in my state capitol when it seemed like nobody else was around, and I guarantee that the guards materialize instantly as soon as you start doing anything interesting/weird/possibly damaging to the artwork. So this whole Wisconsin protest thing has been surreal, and this just tops it off.

Geepers-creepers J, you're sort of new to the Althouse, aren't you? Ann isn't really a conservative. She's more of a contrarian. Her posse at the University of Wisconsin tolerates her because she's their resident contrarian. (They pride themselves on their diversity: "Look, we even have a person in the conservative tradition!") Liberal is popular, she's contrary, so she's conservative-like. Or in the conservative tradition. Good-grief, she roots for the Cubs, and supported that guy who lives in the White House now, the 0bama.

So J, you do know that the White House has a web site where upstanding American patriots can report people who say mean and naughty things, and those who get reported find coal in their Christmas stockings. You sir, have you no humanity? You are on the verge of being reported for contributing to incivility in discourse.

Leave Ann alone. We like her the way she is, and the way she is evolving into being better. (There is an acronym for something like: "I like you but not that way" or some such thing.)

Carol: are you on holiday? I can't nearly do this as well as you do.
