The fans are fortifying themselves with brats and beer:
The merchants are purveying special T-shirts:
This one made us laugh a lot:
And in the background, under the reflection, there's "Shuck You." I heard a guy saying he didn't understand it: "Shuck you?" Dumb! But then I thought, actually, you have to know at least 3 things: 1. that the Nebraska team is called the "Cornhuskers," 2. that "shuck" is another word for "husk," and 3. that "fuck you" is a standard expression. Then you have to get the hang of the way human beings combine things for humorous effect. If you think about it, the dumbest things are really quite sophisticated.

Probably a professional agitator/protester.
I shared a dorm with a Nebraska native my first semester at UW. He was an engineering grad student. He kept "forgetting" to flush the toilet after pinching off a loaf.
So my suggestion for a taunt of Nebraskans tomorrow is: "Flush the toilet! Flush the toilet!" We'll see if that one sticks.
And in the 2nd picture "Shuck 'em Too".
If you've been to many NCAA football, it doesn't seem very sophisticated. I think just about every school will have some crude wordplay targeted against them worn proudly on t-shirts at games.
Man, what a great weekend for sports. The Brewers, the Badgers, and the Packers (inconsequential, but I have tickets).
The tailgating alone will bring in millions.
The "shuck you" was funny; no need to explain.
"I heard a guy saying he didn't understand it."
Was is Segway boy? I heard him on the local radio station here. As smart as a box of rocks he is...

"The "shuck you" was funny; no need to explain."
I'm not really explaining it. I'm joking about dumbness. Did I really have to explain that?
Shucking is different from husking.
Husking is the removal of the corn ear from the plant. It was a real skill back before automation to do such a thing quickly and accurately, tossing the ear into a waiting bin. Nobody husks anymore because it's all automated.
Shucking is removing the outer leaves and tassel from the ear of corn so you can boil it. Everyone who cooks corn eventually shucks.
(So imagine playing for a team named after people who don't exist anymore!)
It isn't just the teaching that keeps you coming back to school. There's an excitement to the athletics you still enjoy.
Good for you.
May you still be cheering the Badgers when you're 80
Nebraska fans could counter with Tshirts that read "Shuck U"
Ah, but I see I am wrong. A husker strips the corn as they harvest. I guess that would make sense. Why toss the green covering in -- that would require handling it twice.
My Iowan Dad will remonstrate me for giving you bad corn information. Especially since Henry Wallace walked through Dad's Dad's corn fields as he pondered FDR's offer.
:-) "If you think about it, the dumbest things are really quite sophisticated."
Oh yeah.
E.G.: I'm not following you. Or: What does that mean? Or: are you sure? Or: what else is there? Or: Does anything transcend you, or me? Or: I love you. Or: please help me.
Probably a professional agitator/protester.
No, they have their own shirts. Sh*ck Tea."
"fortifying"
Yep, that's what they're doing with brats and beer.
I can see a Queen chant now.
We will...
We will...
Shuck you.
GO BIG RED!
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.
Football itself is sophisticated, or at least complex. Yet some of the players are quite simple. They don't have to know all of the rules or everything involved in every play - just the rules and patterns that apply to their position and that they're likely to run into. It makes me wonder whether Hayek was a football fan.
MadisonMan, I grew up in Iowa and thought "husk" meant "shuck". Of course, we only had a half-acre, and only a few hundred square feet of that were allocated to the tomato/bell pepper farm. I did detassel one summer, which - for those who don't know - is to corn as "neuter" is to a dog.
All that shuck you, husk you, corn husk and fuck you, pops up thoughts of why this officer's name is so damn funny (and also leads to so much affection, so to speak).
Kind of like the Marketplace and how befuddled Libs tried to explain George W. Bush versus reality.
DOn't forget to say Hi to Herbie, when you see him.
Shucking and jiving.
Worst state ever? I thought that was Minnesota. Or maybe Illinois.
You might say that these are the corniest t-shirts ever!
Cornhuskers do suck but they bring in a shitload of shekels when they arrive for the Big Pigball Game.
Better not wear that "Shuck You" shirt in view of Justice Clarence Thomas. He's supposed to be a big-time Cornhuskers fan.
How could anyone not get that? It's a textbook well thought out joke.
That's like having Oklahoma fans wearing shirts with, "You won't be too horny after we're done with you" to the U. of Texas game.
Suckpuppet putting on his spirit squad schtick. Do they have a Casa Grande JC Team, where like you made it through a year of Nursey studies? go CG gila monsters!
Football is a game for trained apes. That, in fact, is what most of the players are--retarded gorillas wearing helmets and uniforms. The only thing more debased is the surrounding mob of drunken monkeys howling the gorillas on.

I love the "worst state ever" shirts.
Once upon a time, in college football infancy, the Univ. of Iowa used two nicknames, the Hawkeyes and the Cornhuskers. The Univ. of Nebraska was dissatisfied with their nickname and asked Iowa if they could adopt one of theirs. After, we assume, some thought, Iowa offered them the use of "Cornhuskers". Nebraska gratefully accepted.
The nickname Nebraska had been using...."The Bug Eaters".
GO BIG RED!!
I used to go to Lincoln on game day when I lived in Nebraska. I would wear my KSU or KU sweatshirt the day of those games. The Nebraska fans would buy me beer in the bars and otherwise be very nice to me. And these were the years KU or KSU could beat Nebraska. Totally different from my experience with the Ohio State fans when I lived in Columbus.
It seems to me that the whole "shuck" thing derives from the expression I recall from my college days in Wisconsin (though not in Madtown) - "Fuck 'em Bucky".
From that, to "Shuck 'em Bucky" to "Shuck You", when playing the Cornhuskers, is a pretty short trip.
Since the colors are practically the same for both teams, at least any thugs will have to be somewhat literate after the game.
The larger apartments are located on the western side, and take advantage of the bigger views it presents, whilst the smaller more compact apartments can be found on the eastern part. Furthermore, from floor 19 upwards apartments can be merged together for those with enough money giving them half a floor each if they so desire. As with previous notable Ian Simpson designs, residents here will be able to enjoy their own winter garden on the or east and west sides of the building.
