Results reported here.
On the TV station we're watching, News 3, with 6% in, Prosser and Kloppenburg are tied at 50%.
UPDATE, 8:50: 51% Prosser, 49% Kloppenburg, with 9% reporting.
UPDATE, 8:55: According to the Milwaukee State Journal, with 11% reporting, it's 51% Prosser, 49% Kloppenburg.
UPDATE, 9:30: On TV, they seem to be pre-spinning a Kloppenburg loss, saying what an amazing thing it is that she has come close to beating an incumbent.
UPDATE, 9:36: 34% reporting, David Prosser 265,662 (50%), Joanne Kloppenburg 263,356 (50%).
UPDATE, 9:54: With 49% in, News 3 has Prosser at 51% and Kloppenburg at 49%.
UPDATE, 11:08: Paul Soglin has won the mayoral race. He's speaking now, looking extremely tired.
UPDATE, 11:14: Kloppenburg had gone up, but now they're back even at 50%.
UPDATE, 11:35: Concentrating on the AP numbers, looking at which counties still need to report, I'm irritated by the way Waukesha (strong for Prosser) and Dane (strong for Kloppenburg) seem to be holding out, like it's a game of chicken. Right now the candidates are 50-50%, with Prosser up 6,000+. It's been seesawing back and forth, with Kloppenburg up some of the time. To my eye, it looks as though there are more votes left to report in the places that are pro-Prosser, so I think in the end Prosser will squeak by.
UPDATE, 11:43: Dane (Madison's county) is nearly all in. I don't see how Kloppenburg can net more than about 3,000 with what's left of Dane. Waukesha is now shown as completely in, but the numbers didn't change, so I think something may have been misreported. I took the trouble to do a calculation and was going to predict that Prosser would net 40,000 more votes in Waukesha. What happened?
UPDATE, 11:55: There will be a recount, I assume. All those absentee ballots. The possibility of some fraud. It's nearly midnight here. Maybe we won't know the answer for days.

Do you really think the remaining precincts in Dane and Milwaukee counties will report actual vote totals? I don't.
They'll either "find" enough "misdirected" bags of ballots to swing the vote, or come within the recount percentage and argue voter intent for months until Prosser finally surrenders.
Our motto - don't let 'em get close enough to cheat.
You poor bastards. Prosser might win but he will lose. Democrats aren't.

AJ,
Pointe du Hoc
During all this back and forth, Waukesha is stuck on 52/198 precents reporting. 63K to 22K Prosser thus far.
Milwaukee is "fab," but not in the way most hipster types like. Absolutely their loss. MKE would be much better if they could shake off decades of Democratic rule.
"Titus" is but one head of the Althouse troll hydra.
Its looks like the dead votes are coming in.. the Klopper is ahead again.
I am sorry but Kloppenberg is fucking fugly. God was not kind to her. Poor thing. There is absolutely nothing about her sexual. Could you imagine walking around this earth conveying no sexuality whatsoever. Kill me.
That would be ironic if Waukesha waits to see how many votes Prosser needs...
Lots posting from MKE and Dane. Nothing to fear, they'll tucker themselves out soon enough.
Palladian,
So who is Hercules?
Much of Racine County hasn't reported yet and I'm betting its the City of Racine....
PB&J:
That's it. Thanks! "The boys of Pointe du hoc" I remember that quote from Reagan's speech.
If you look at Hal's numbers, it looks like it is fairly evenly divided in the smaller counties and so will come down to Dane vs. Waukesha.
Palladian I am back in the states just briefly. I will be gone soon. I kinda love you too, you know that. I even thought of buying one of your prints but I was afraid because I thought if I did you wouldn't be mean to me!

Fond du lac- what a great name!
Reminds me of the name [which I forget] of that French town where Reagan gave his famous D-day commemoration speech
You're thinking of Pointe du Hoc, where Army Rangers climbed a 100-ft. cliff to take out a German battery on D=day
Titus, Sensenbrenner is alright, but he has been in congress for too damn long. I moved away 20 years ago, and even back then it seemed he'd been there forever.
"to take out a German battery on D=day"
They did climb, but if my memory serves me correctly, the cement bunkers were engineered, but the guns were not yet installed in them.
You can go there and see it. Great place for kids. A large field on top of a cliff, with bomb holes, and the German engineered cement personnel bunkers and gun bunkers still in tact, mostly.
Klopp momentarily ahead.

This is not good.. Klopp still ahead.
I did some guy in the parking lot of some famous restaurant in Fon Du Lac. What is the name of that restaurant? The waitresses wear these cute retro outfits. I went with my parents and they couldn't find me for like 10 minutes. I was worried that they would "chance" upon the truck with the steamed windows. I actually rolled out of the truck and slithered on the ground until I reached the entrance and then popped up and found my parents and told them I had the bad shits.
Oh crap.....
He's calling it for Kloppenburg.
Someone give me something to talk him out of it.
Waukesha is now 119/186 precincts reporting.

Journal-Sentinel has the Klop up by 8000 votes with 79% counted. Not looking good for Prossman.
It looks like there was an anomaly w/ the Waukesha numbers. It's actually 119/198 precincts reporting and 63k/23k Prosser/Kloppenburg.
Now Waukesha County showing 119 precincts reporting, but the vote totals haven't changed. Hmmmmm....
Fon du Lac has to come in something like 80% to 20%.
Looks like they found that car trunk with the votes in it.

If Klopp wins, garbage, I will refuse to abide by the elections.
I will call in thousands of protesters and protest every day.
I will immediately demand a recall election.
I refuse to accept the results of the election.
I've decided to become a complete thug and a scam artist, just like you.
Time to start picketing Klopp's house. Anybody know her address? Might as well start right now. Maybe it'll force her to resign before she even takes office.
Why be any better than garbage?
Something screwy here...70 precincts couldn't have just reported 0 votes in Waukesha. Milwaukee also just skewed 3% points in a matter of minutes.
According to SSP, looks like a number of precincts in Pro-prosser Milwaukee counites had reported without having the precincts counted. So Prosser is now underperforming the primary by 3.9%. At his point it projects to Prosser with 51.3%.
Kloppenburg now up by 18K.
51-49 for Klop with 81% in. Where is her lead coming from? It must be Dane reporting, Milwaukee is played out.
Kylos noticed it too.
Screws up the projection.
Even if K ultimately wins—legitimately or otherwise—one thing is clear: The myth of public outrage about Walker and the strength of the union vote was killed tonight, impaled on a 51-49 vote.
Fond Du Lac County 0/77 precincts reporting. LOL.
Where are you getting these raw numbers folks?

Yes, but who's going to report that? The leftist media? Hahahaha!
Even if the Waukesha numbers are currently right, there's still another gain of 20k votes for Prosser left there.

Dane is still holding on to its votes. Just to be sure.
Is that a usual thing? a late surge like that?
Dane County is all in now.
Is anything showing for Washington County yet? That should also be heavy for Prosser.

The Votemoile for Kloopenberger just rolled in from Chicago. It's Rahm's hand picked strike force.
A lot of the law students (including me) ended up writing candidates in. I had issues with a lot of Prosser's rulings, so I couldn't vote for him. However, I was also convinced that voting for Kloppenburg would be a vote against the law (since she'll uphold the injunction against the bill). I'm against the bill, but it's a law. The only solution was not to vote for either of them.

Still nothing from Fond du Lac or Waupaca, rural counties that are likely to break heavily for Prosser. Lots left to count in Waukesha, unless it disappears again like earlier...
Thanks for the links.
This is close.
Still a lot of votes to go in Milwaukee, Dane, Fond du Lac, Ozaukee and Washington counties. A lot depends on what precincts are still out in Dane and Milwaukee, but that's the most votes and more likely to go Klop.
Turnout in the smaller rural counties has been low. That probably hurts Prosser.
Still hard to predict but things look better for Kloppergirl overall.
Too bad, but life will go on folks.
Huge avalanche of votes from Dane County.
Not that i'm into moral victories, but a narrow loss in this race - given all of the hype and energy from the left - confirms that WI has not gone completely insane. Just partially.
Lead now narrowed to 24K for Kloppenburg.
Milwaukee is in David, I don't know about Dane yet.
Klopp lead down to 24k per TMJ4...it's droppin' like Titus's fly...only 12k according to the AP.
AP had extra 10K votes for Kloppenburg in Dane county for a few minutes. Now corrected.
It looked like Klopp lost votes in my last refresh, maybe the AP may have messed up the count, now only a 12K lead for Klopp.

You wish.
Mostly it's very comfortably employed government and academic workers, students and people who make their living from the foregoing. They have a great gig and they are well organized in its defense.
The turnout in the realms not so governmental has to be substantial to overcome this and Milwaukee County. It hasn't been.

"Anyone know Wisconsin well enough to actually give an informed opinion?"
My opinion is informed by having lived there 25 years and still being there 4 months a year. You really can't tell because you can't know what precincts are still out in the counties not fully reported, but if they are a representative sample Prosser is not going to carry the day by a close margin.
Waukesha County has a larger population than Dane County.
I wonder if any of the candidates will concede tonight.
Shenanigans, again...9 precincts just added to the reported total in Washington country without any votes...WTF AP?
Looks like in round numbers that Prosser is 4,000 votes down with about 130,000 votes left to count.
Dane County is libtard Madison and a bunch of porky farm subsidy fatcats.
AP shows Washington County as only half counted. Prosser could pick up another 10k-15k votes there.

Reince Prebius not throwing weight behind a nonpartisan judge candidate was probably smart. Some voters actually value the judge who isn't a sure vote one way or the other, but rather is a judge.
Kloppenburg probably inspired all the true GOP partisan voters against her, but the hard truth is that Prosser was not their ideal candidate, but rather just a judge. He isn't much of a politician, and it makes sense that a lot of people in blue cities felt they had something to vote for in a way their conservative counterparts were not so directly motivated.
the Tea Party could have made a loud case for an independent judiciary, but they are grassroots that can't be pointed at a problem like a cannon.
Is there an automatic recount trigger in for this election?

Remarkable how the votes swing back and forth. I'm surprised there is not a program that can take the actual votes from particular precincts and project the final vote state wide. I remember seeing Barone look at actual Ohio results in 2004 and concluding that Bush was going to win.

Prosser seems to be winning blue collar Dem counties....Racine, Brown, etc. Maybe those attacks on unionized Georgia Pacific didn't go over well with Reagan Democrats. If a Democrat can't win those two counties....
Racine County is quite conservative...the city of Racine is Democratic controlled but the suburbs like Sturtevant are conservative. And its even more conservative as you go west of I-94.
Fortunately, I guess, the State of Wisconsin has set a precedent allowing us to threaten death, occupy buildings and vandalize public works in order to void the will of American voters.
Sorry to the decent Wisconsinites among us, but your State is a fucking disgrace. An absolute affront to human dignity. How you idiots perennially elect such scumbags is beyond me. Just don't vote if you're that fucking stupid!
Klopp just reeled him in a bit with a good dose of Eau Claire, but I don't think there's any way for her to catch him at this point.
Who is Jon Nichols?
Wisconsin Public Radio mainstay.
Time for Waukesha to kick some ass.
YES the counties with the most precincts outstanding are the most corrupt and they are coming in for Prosser!
It looked like Dane County was going to get over 200,000 votes, but the last tally put a damper on that. Now it may be only around 180,000 or 80% of the 2010 vote. Great turn out, and Prosser got crused there but I don't think its going to be enough. Still, there are always those votes lying in the back room....
So the AP has Dane Co. with about 6 precincts still out, and Milwaukee with 13 still out.
They show a lot out for Waukesha but we all know how that got hinky before.
If Prosser pulls it off......what will the pundits say? Was it Big Public Unions race to lose, and they did? Was it overreach on their part?
We know the left was motivated to vote, but what caused the Prosser voters to vote? Hell, I don't always vote for races like this and I am obsessed with politics.
Now only four wards of Dane not reporting.
No *obvious* surprises left.
"YES the counties with the most precincts outstanding are the most corrupt and they are coming in for Prosser!"
Back that up with evidence. What corruption do you associate with Prosser votes? Is this just dumb projection, based on Madison law enforcement acting corrupt?
