"He was caressing my head in this sick way, this tender way, saying: 'You’re going to die tonight. You’re going to die tonight.'"

Lynsey Addario, one of 4 NYT journalists — the only female — who were captured by the Libyan government, describes her ordeal.

It's a good thing Libya doesn't have high speed rail or she would've been tied to the tracks for sure.

The good parts of the NYT dodge some bullets.

Note the fear: "We can't kill them, they are American."

It surely was not compassion fathering those words.

If Khadaffy's lost the Gray Lady...

Seriously, this is how this slime operates. It's how Al Qaeda treated Daniel Pearl and the other people they beheaded.

Thanks for the OT opening, Crack. Notice how the trolls are so quiet after the emails to Walker reveal 2-1 support?

...but, what's the expiration date on that sort of statement?

...and yet we are conducting some sort of pansy-ass "nice guy" war with these people.

We're not gonna kill Qaddafi, right? That's not the purpose of this thing, according to Team Obama. The subordinates in Qaddafi's regime seems pretty safe too.

This only emboldens them. They've crossed the line and we've responded with War... you don't do War half-way-- it don't work. Qadaffi and the leaders of his regime must all die.

It's either War or not, Obama. You have chosen! Now exterminate them!

All I thought looking at the picture was why the dude in the middle was there. Was he the rescuer? God I'm so cynical.

"without visas"

There they were (albeit "illegally") trying to build sympathy for the rebels and let their masters start bombing government forces and strongholds. Clearly, holding them captive was an act on par with Stalin or Hitler. She was groped, like a passenger by would be by the TSA. I hope we can stop this monster before he detains other illegal aliens, a totally indefensible action.

Their poor driver is still missing. Not lucky enough to be an American journalist, I guess.

An oddity in the picture: the 4 Americans just freed look more relaxed than the Turkish Ambassador in the accompanying picture.

If you look hard enough, sometimes even lefties can make you feel good about America.

How ghastly.

The question is, what will she write about it three weeks from now?

Will she still be telling it like it was or making excuses for the stress the Libyan soliers were under because of the impending American assault/OUR fault yet again...

Pay no attention to "sarge"; he's just another troll with delusions of adulthood.

This is the part that jumped out at me as well. When you want America's reputation (for good or for ill) to be diminished in the world recognize that there will be consequences.
