Awesome Printer takes up my challenge to make the snake friendlier and adopts my rewrite of "Don't Tread on Me":
And Henry (the commenter) comes up with these variations:

In keeping with the Tea Party agenda, shouldn't the text on the bottom flag read: reduce, refuse, replace.
Don't Tread on Me .
@garage
Everyone already knows that YouTube video "oHg5SJYRHA0" is a Rick Roll.
The first one looks like Sir Hiss from my favorite Disney cartoon Robin Hood (1973).
I'm still waiting for Chip to place a gun in the snake's hand in the "One more step..." version
Why can't I find a picture of Richard Simmons on a treadmill? I wanted to make something in the vain of, "Don't tread on me, but you can tread with me." I think that accomplishes two things: Toning down the violence (while toning up our buns) while simultaneously extending an offer of inclusiveness.
An inside joke Triangle Man. It wasn't deleted, I'm a little surprised.
Hahahaha
You got me garage.. perfect timing.
You know that ad where the bunny laughs at the rattle snake's baby rattle. It doesn't make sense because the rattle is not the dangerous end. The rattler should just eat the bunny instead of slinking away in embarrassment.
* Please be so kind as to tread on me barefoot, or to put on some slippers
* Have a care where you're walking, I just got out of rehab
* Ho Fellow, that's quite a footprint you've got there
* Please consider that I can actually be quite useful keeping the rodent populations down.
* Ignore that chopped up "Join, or Die" version, that was just a bad moment.
Why should we wish to make that flag "friendlier"? Friendlier to whom? Tyrants?
I'd prefer the original image with the caption, "We warned you".
I think that bottom one should be used in the defense of a living constitution.
Don't be tready, party!
The only version of the Gadsden flag the civility movement will accept.
Should be "CECI n'est pas un serpent".

Thanks Jarrett,
I knew there was a pretty good chance I'd get the French wrong, but decided to take a stab at it. So much for the high culture snake.
