Which First Lady is taller?

Careful! Watch out for optical illusions!

Congratulations. They finally found a first lady to put next to Michelle that, by comparison, makes Michelle appear the radiant fashion icon that we've been told, and told, and told, that she it.

The real question is: "Which these ho's got mo junk up in they trunk?

Advantage Cameroon!

My money's on Michelle. American women are always taller.

And I'm astonished that Ann refuses to talk about this.

Fen, it's not just Althouse. I watched virtually the whole session and it was absolutely astonishing. And Coates struck me as one of the most honest men I've ever seen in such a setting. Didn't dodge a single question and was eager to be challenged. And yet every media outlet went with the Colbert non-story instead.
I think they're all scared of what they'll have to report if they broach the subject. It's a mix of political correctness, racial paternalism and just plain dishonesty that informs their choice to feign ignorance of the story.
Good for us there's C-Span and the Internet. "They" won't be able to hide the cancer at DoJ for much longer.

Fen, she did kind of mention it obliquely yesterday by quoting from the comments to one of her posts about something else.

And, well, it IS her blog. She gets to choose what she wants to blog about. I agree with you that the DOJ case is a huge story, and I don't want to see it get shoved under the rug. But the world won't come to an end if Ann doesn't blog about it.

And Lincolntf, I read someplace that the Washington Post had the DOJ story on the front page. I don't know what kind of spin they might have put on it, but having it appear any place other than the bottom of page D-17 means that they realize they can't bury the story.

Fen, I'm sure that she'll blog about this case. There are too many subtexts in this story that are right up her alley for her not to.

I suspect that she's waiting to see how it shakes out a little bit more, when she sees something there that's particularly interesting and that she can write an interesting post about. I don't think that any of her readers just want to read "Hey, look what happened with that Black Panthers case." We want something spicy and layered, where half of it makes us say "I didn't think of that" and the other half just pisses us off.

As first lady, Michelle has clearly bought into the conventional wisdom about nutrition (low-fat, high carb). As a result, like most Americans trying to "eat right and exercise", she is getting fatter and fatter.

Michell is taller--if as Hemingway once said, "you care for that length of bone."

I hope you're right, I said as much friday night. But I'm losing faith.

I cant help but think that, if this was a case of the Bush DOJ refusing to investigate white on black crime, Ann would be on her fourth thread by now...

The First Klingon is too preachy for me. Maybe if she could get her own husband to follow her advice I'd be more inclined to give a rip what she says.

K'Pla!

Agreed. Likewise, the community here gets to call her on it, esp if its a result of "political correctness, racial paternalism and just plain dishonesty that informs [her] choice to feign ignorance of the story."

Understand that I wouldn't be so cynical if Ann didn't have a history of treating one racial slur as worse than the others.

This seems to be the same thing.

Althouse: "I'm a law professor, and sometimes I write about the law."

But not, it seems, when lady Justice is revealed to be a common street whore when practiced by racist Democrats.

Ding, ding ding.

We have a thread-winner!

First Lady Michelle Obama for the win!

Fen-

Althouse only responds to AlphaLiberal.

Ya, I know....

Where is that little fella?
Kinda misss him.

Lincolntf said...

If Althouse didn't watch the testimony herself she probably doesn't have much to contribute yet. Maybe once a few of the "big thinkers" in media/law speak up she'll have something to say about their analysis.

There are enough stories out today that a quick Google search could probably get people up to speed. His opening statement at the Pajamas link pretty much tells the whole story, anyway. People aren't going to be able to play dumb for much longer.

Anyways she had an all black bathroom with wallpaper just like that.

I'm not being facetious either, I like the dress.

Prints can be very subjective.

And she has actually worn that dress before, so good for her.

Kind of naive, aren't you? This story isn't going anywhere, it'll all be down the memory hole by the middle of next week.

I like her attitude. She seems to have fun and a lot of personality.

Nothing wrong with that.

Quaestor said...

Forget the tinpot First Lady of Cameroon (what a distinction that title is!) I think Michelle looks better than I've ever seen her. Maybe there's been some changes in the East Wing, finally somebody with good taste advising our First Lady vis-à-vis matters of wardrobe?

Yup. Despite the fact that all this dovetails with the Shirley "I dont help white people" Sherrod incident.

The Republicans will own the House in 6 weeks. Possibly the Senate, too. We already have more than enough evidence (Coates' testimony) to start an inquiry once we have the power.
Even Nixon and Clinton weren't punished until years after the initial infraction, but they both still got nailed during their own Administrations.
It might be long, ugly and distressing, but the truth is going to come out on this one. It's just too big to hide forever.

Honestly, the more I see the bright purple and the giant red hair the more it makes me happy.

I just want to smile, like the purple lady is smiling, smiling because someone hasn't given into the suppression and faux dignity of kowtowing to respectability.

And I want to go get acrylic nails and do something fun with them, because it looks fun and outrageous. And maybe paint them red, because I've never done red before.
