"This new appetite for all-things-Sasha may be due in large part to her wholesome look..."
I thought we weren't going to talk about the President's children. Or is it okay to gush inanely like this, serenely confident that the rule against talking about the President's children will stop everyone but the truly contemptible from saying that you've gushed inanely?

I suppose I am just not hip enough, but I honestly have not noticed the little girls (or girls of any size) around here emulating the President's daughter's fashion sense. They tend to dress more like Snooki than Sasha.
In one very significant respect most adult women (>75% in the 18-50 age range, according to my research) emulate the appearance of little girls. God damn it.

Forget the article, read the comments.
I think that the less is written about a President's kids (bad or good), the better.
keep them out of the public eye and let them be kids (to the maximum possible.
Designers and jornalists attempting to profit from them, not so good.
Ditto Charlie.
Ouch!!
I think , seriously, the POTUS kids -- all of them Ds,Rs, any -- ought to be off the radar altogether.
Making a 9 year old's clothes a fashion feature is just inane.
Highlighting this little girl has zero value. To her, us, or other little 9 year old girls.
What? No Silly Bands for Sasha? They're all the rage!
Toy
This is creepy.
I'll snark this one.
The kid is 9 (?) years old.
She seems to have multiple outfits--dozens in fact.
This almost certainly requires other people to shop for her, organize and clean her wardrobe and help her to decide what to wear day to day.
It's really a rather astonishing extravagance, particularly strange for parents who said they wanted their girls to have as normal a childhood as possible.
I propose that we call her "Little Marie."
Celebrity Chefs can bake cakes in her honor.
This is what she wears when she goes babysitting.
Having failed in turning Michelle into Jackie Kennedy, it would appear the Establishment media are trying to turn Sasha into Caroline.

Exactly. Any President.
The Democrats are desperate.
They are frantically trying to find something "nice" and "good" to say about the Obamas, so they have glommed onto the children. Knowing that it is next to impossible to say bad things about the children and that children should be left out of the politicial blood bath that is coming in November. Unless, of course, the children are Republican spawn like Palin's.
The Dems are doing the same thing as Hamas, using the children as body shields.
No wonder Malia chose to hide from the public eye at sleep away camp this summer.
At first I thought it was going to be about Sasha Gray.
For sale on eBay right now are a Caroline Kennedy Madame Alexander doll, and a book on "Caroline [Kennedy's] Doll Collection," written in 1962 by gossip columnist Joyce Haber. To me this means the Kennedy kids had a lot more scrutiny and fandom than Sasha and Malia have.
ironrailsironweights has yet to go to a dance club to see all the hootchie mamas in their definitely-not-emulating-the-appearance-of-any-little-girls attire.
I'm a Malia preferer myself. She seems more thoughtful, smarter.

Oh, come on! They're both sweet as hell and smart as whips. (But my favorite is Piper.) Malia will naturally be spoiled, in her own way, for being the youngest, and Natasha for being the oldest.
DS is correct...leave the kids alone.
Please leave the President's children alone.
Do not treat them the way the press and the entertainment industry and the Democratic attack machine have treated Sarah Palin's children.
Teacher, leave those kids alone.

This is it, in a nutshell. I'd say "desperate" describes the media pretty well, right now.
I was surprised to see how tall the older daughter has become. Children do grow up I guess.

It would be a wild dance club indeed that would allow one to evaluate whether the hoochie mamas in question are emulating little girls, in the particular respect that so obsesses Peter.
