"But it's all worth it when you can finally relax and listen to your huge infant-headed son's butt through a tin can on a string."
A Metafilter comment on a series of drawings by Ruth Gwily.
I'm not thrilled with the drawing itself, but the images give you something to talk about — is this The Life of a Woman? — and I love the simple website design that lets you scroll across a long series of drawings. That's so much better than a lot of thumbnails that you have to click to enlarge or do as a "slideshow."

Yes, it probably is the life of a woman - one with some serious issues. I thought my past life was depressing, but, next to her, it looks like a romp in the park.
PS Does the one with the antlers mean she's horny?
Thank God that I am not a woman. That lady really needs a good man's protection, no matter how sexist that sounds. Where is John Wayne hiding out these days?
She needs protection from the giant-headed baby that will pull out her guts! That might have even given John Wayne pause.
This is why I listen to country music, instead of looking at avant garde art.
Heard a great old Merle Haggard song the other night.
The last four pictures are intriguing.
Not what I expected; the last picture reminds me of a boxer being declared the winner of a fight.
They don't "mean" anything. Your reaction to them is supposed to tell the shrink about your "projections." The problem with it is that the interpretation of the TAT is subjective. In other words, it's more postmodern thumb sucking.
Maybe it would be useful to tell you about how weird the shrink doing the testing is. Call it the Thematic Aperception Test Test.
It reminds me of the Voit-Comp test in Bladerunner. I wanted to shoot the test giver.
Very similar to Glen Baxter's cartoons, which are odd and funny and ultimately depressing.
It was Henderson's Sixth Attempt at Lasagne; from 1978.
To me the window is still a symbolically loaded motif' Drawled Cody
Folks round here....
Seth's Snood was the Envy of the Boys in the Bunkhouse
You just bring that speech bubble down...
Okay, that was fucking weird.
