"Other cable news channels force-feed viewers one narrow, predictable point of view; in contrast, CNN will be offering a lively roundup of all the best ideas..."
Assuming you're eating points of view, are you hungry for more variety in your diet? Great! CNN is serving up a yummy plate of Spitzer.

With a nice side of hypocrisy - eat up!
Bullshit never tastes good, no matter how it's prepared.
When it comes to force-feeding viewers one narrow, predictable point of view, CNN is one of the worst offenders. Matching up a hard-core left-wing Democrat politician like Eliot Spitzer with a center-left, Washington-based syndicated columnist like Kathleen Parker isn't going to do much to change that.
I have felt much better since I adopted the low-bullshit diet.
However, that means CNN, HNN, MSNBC, Fox, ABC, CBS, and NBC are all forever abandoned.
Adding a slimy ex-bulldozer isn't terribly enticing.
"all the best ideas"?
Now if I had all the best ideas I wouldn't piss them away on CNN.
I was immediately reminded of the Monty Python scetch with the recipe calling for Lark's Vomit.
TW: houkk "sound heard across America at this development"
"Matching up a hard-core left-wing Democrat politician like Eliot Spitzer with a center-left, Washington-based syndicated columnist like Kathleen Parker..."
This.
More leftwing variety. To round things out, they're going to pull in Molly Ivins and Noam Chomsky.
So are Anderson Cooper and Spitzer going to compare where to find the best pickup locations? Or just compare how often the had sex with people they couldn't the names of?
It's also good to see Spitzer with a more permanent spot on the liberal media's Democrat rehab program. Maybe they can pick up John Edwards next.
Other cable news channels force-feed one narrow, predictable point of view, but are generally run by people smart enough not to cancel one of their top rated shows. One reviewer noted "I liked this show the first time I saw it. When it was called "Crossfire". Klein stated he was "not familiar with that title".
Saddam Hussein was not available for comment.
Haha. The Media Whores want to go steady.
@ GMay,
I think Molly's gone on to her eternal reward. I don't think she needs a sweater.
Saddam Hussein was not available for comment.
And never will be. Last I heard he was consorting with his old friend Iblis.
Is it a bad sign if a West Side hard left liberal shows up and broadens the point of view of a network?
"I think Molly's gone on to her eternal reward."
And so she has. Man am I behind!
Maybe they'll bring in Helen Thomas then. No liberal panel would be complete without an outed Jew hater. She needs to get on the Democrat rehab train anyway.
I'm guessing Spitzer will be calling in his order for a #9 with indignation on the side.
(...regardless of what it costs him.)
Jokes aside, how could anyone consider this man a serious news (or news-analysis) source?
At CNN we have both kinds of opinion:
Leftist and SUPER Leftist!
CNN continues to opt for irrelevancy.
Elliot Spitzer.... Really... That's the best they could do?????
To the person making these decisions at CNN, I give you this
I don't care if Molly Ivins is dead, they can just take clips of old interviews and make her part of the new show. It's not like there'd be any difference in the opinions.
Maybe they can contact Molly via seance.
This is a totally bizarre decision.
Another Crossfire, with the Conservative side represented by Kathleen Parker, the turncoat's turncoat? They'd do better with Pat 'the anti-Ross Perot' Buchanan!
I didn't believe Fox's "We report, you decide" so why would I believe this?
CNN, Fox and MSNBC are all just as nasty as each other, just as partisan (if only on different sides).
Although, I will say this in Fox's favor. When I lived in Israel, they were the ONLY network who accurately and completely reported on Palestinian terrorism.
It would be better for him if he had leveraged his "fall from grace". Come out and say that yeah, he was bangin' whores, and he's really a libertarian when you take away the veneer of hypocrisy that glimmers in the light of Socialism. Then I'd listen to him, thinking that he's just the sort of honest straight-forward guy who I could share a joint with.
But no, sadly no. Back to being an Establishment warrior as soon as a sufficient period of mourning had passed for his dead authenticity.
Fox at least has lefty as well as righty talking heads. Contrary to what Lisa said Fox really does offer a wide spectrum of opinion. And then you decide. But I guess adult threatens a true believer.
"It's also good to see Spitzer with a more permanent spot on the liberal media's Democrat rehab program. Maybe they can pick up John Edwards next."
You could have the adultery news hour.
Tragic to say, but if you can corner all adulterers as a demographic you could do pretty well in our current society.
Would it kill one of these networks if they hired the two young kids who unmasked ACORN as a ridiclous and probably corrupt group? I know the young chick could attract viewers.
"But no, sadly no. Back to being an Establishment warrior as soon as a sufficient period of mourning had passed for his dead authenticity."
Unfortunately, it was an entirely insufficient period. What was he doing penance for, like, five minutes? He was already writing op-eds just a few months after his resignation in "disgrace".
Spitzer signed up because he misread the proposed advertising as "offering a lovely roundup of all the breast ideas..."
Parker had better watch out, I hear Spitzer is already looking for guest hosts on the side.

They can't do that. Those kids are better reporters than most of the DC press corps.
But wouldn't you love to see it?
"CNN will be offering a lively roundup of all the left's ideas..."
I want to like CNN because they try to be mainly about news but...
1)their ratings are poor so they end up doing crap like this
2)they're too into pointless technology (Wow isn't this HUGE touch screen cool!)
3) they too often believe that balance is two extremes viewpoints (i.e. Erick Erickson, Donna Brazielle)
4) they beat the dead horse of Wow this is news, let me show you that clip for fortieth time)
Why don't they just run some straight news programs and then hire the Politico staff for its political discussion shows. And when breaking news happens, inject the news guys for an hour and then go back to our regularly scheduled programing
And while there at it maybe they can make Headline News once again Headline News
I've been mad at CNN ever since I tried to watch hurricane coverage and it came with a whole bunch of close up's of Sarah Palin's underaged, pregnant daughter. I mean, priorities CNN?
sheesh, why exactly does anyone want to hear anything client number 9 has to say.
And why is parker willing to go down on... er, i mean... with him.
We have both kinds of music: country AND western!
Damnit, I didn't realize Dark Eden already made that reference. Grr!
Every time I think of Spitzer I see a clone of Rahm Emanuel and his brother there, just as despicable.
Lisa,
If Fox was doing such a good job of reporting then why would you say what you did about them. How are they the same as the other sources when they are reporting all the news just as they said they would. Does not make any sense at all unless you are that dedicated a leftist that you cannot accept that some not of the left is honest.
c3,
Why would you trust CNN. We already know that they did not report the news from Iraq while Saddam was in power. They lied then. Then they lied about the US troops targeting the journalists during a war and they failed to report the truth then. Now all of a sudden you want to believe them? More fool you.
