I believe that's greatniece. I'll never forget The Blonde holding her first greatnephew, telling him, "I'm your greataunt X and I'm a great aunt".
And she always has been. Her nieces and nephews are the apples of her eye.
PS Are we anticipating a small Meadhouse? If so, Meade, you're the embodiment of what Thackeray said of Jim Bowie ("Greater than Thor, nay, even than Hercules").
WV "bitsycoa" A very small coa, as itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny, yellow polka dot coa.
What a beautiful baby girl. I sometimes wish my kids were still little & cuddly like that! I guess they wouldn't be able to support themselves though if they didn't grow up.
Congrats great aunt & uncle!
Gosh, I just zoomed that picture & that bsby girl has big hands. Maybe she will be a great guitar player some day (watch videos of guitar gods like Jimi Hendrix et al, you will see what I mean)!
That is a new born, no more than a month old. She is prescious. Thank heaven for little girls. My son had his second daughter three weeks ago. The mystery is that babies are each born with very distinct personality, and they do easily connect with their relatives in strong ways.
Did her mother have lots of heartburn whilst preggers? My totally unscientific survey, taken over many years, just asking new mothers says:
about 97% of mothers with babies with lots of hair had lots of heartburn.
about 97% of mothers with bald / mostly bald babies didn't have any heartburn.
Therefore my totally anecdotal non-scientific survey says that if a pregnant woman has lots of heartburn, the baby will probably be born with a good head of hair.

Congratulations Meade.
(we are going to need all the deficit debtors we can get ;)
Ha ha! Thanks, Lem.
The child eventually turns out to have been the point.
How adorable!!!
And the baby's kind of cute, too.
If you want, you can marry. If you try, maybe you can have a baby...
... or a grandniece!
You're just messing with Andrew's mind now, aren't you?

No picture. :-(
wv braters
This cutsey (whatever she looks like) is not going to be one of those braters.
She needs brothers for that.
Don't know why the pic isn't displaying. On the road now and can't fix it yet. Click through to the flickr page to see it.
I love Meade's expression and his strong manly hand gentling cupping the baby.
Utterly Charming.
That's a great photo. Congratulations to the parents and great uncle and aunt.
"I love Meade's expression..."
Me too. That is a very characteristic expression for him, one that I really love. It really conveys his spirit in a way that is dear to me.
"... and his strong manly hand..."
I love that too!
Wow! Congratulations, great aunt and uncle!
Ooh, Precious!
I'm a little concerned about all that hair, though. In The Omen, it concealed the Mark of the Beast.
You want to watch out for that.
What an adorable little peanut! What's her name?

Here is a perfect opportunity for one to take up knitting.
Not that you don't keep us all in stitches already.
(Returns to knitting.)
Cute!!

Reminds me my Asian friends find the typical baldness of Caucasian newborns to be a bit odd.
So cute. My poor 2 1/2 yr. old daughter barely has that much hair. Fortunately, a pixie cut suits her.
I'm a little concerned about all that hair, though. In The Omen, it concealed the Mark of the Beast.
Not sure if this calls for a LOL or a WTF...
Irene... do you live in Tipp City, OH? Is Irene an alias? Because you sound a lot like my knitting-obsessed mom. : )
@knox I am not your Mom!! BWAH!
I don't even have any children.
But I used to live in Ohio, and I am obsessed with knitting.

My kids never had hair when they were born.
My oldest had feathers for hair when he was three.
I have two who have fur for hair. The military guy shaves it off, the girl shows it off.
And that is a simply lovely picture, Professor. Of the wee babe and the handsome dude.
My kids were baldies. Wife had heartburn galore. She's in the 3%, I guess.
And The Omen comment is definitely LOL, not WTF. That kid has a lot lot lot of hair!
I find myself simultaneously fascinated with and appalled at the thought that chip ahoy might animate this picture.
