Adorable pony alert.
This link goes to a photo essay about a bike ride in the Madison area, and there's a lot more to it than the amazing cuteness of the pony. But, damn, what a cute pony!

I thought this was supposed to be a non-pony country?
"Am I wrong?"
Sarah Jessica Parker is looking pretty good for a 44 year old.
You want an adorable pony? I'll get you an adorable pony.
There's a whole yard of them around here.
Cute. Not japanese-level cute, though. Maybe if they had bigger eyes.
I bet they're like a wolf appetizer, or mebbe a training device for their cubs.
Complete Ponyness. The obvious winner of the Westminster Dog and Pony Show, before everything went to the dogs. I was told that ponys were bred to pull ore carts inside of the mines where only downsized horses would fit. So even short horses have purpose. A Beautiful sight to see.
My neighbor was some type of staunch evangelical Christian for awhile (before he and his wife discovered alcohol), and they lectured my young daughter on the satanic qualities of her My Little Pony doll with long blonde tresses and a pink heart on her side that she would make fly in the air all in a girly whoooosh.
She never played with it again.
Now, years later, looking into that deep well of cuteness posted here, I think maybe that lunatic may have been right after all. Surely this unholy level of cuteness squared is the Mark of the Beast.
Squirrel Nut Zippers - Hell
-lyrics modified-
In that pony's eyes
You will believe some serious lies
Now you think it's cute but hey
Tomorrow there'll be hell to pay
People listen attentively
I mean about future calamity
I used to think the idea was obsolete
Until I heard the old man stamping his feet.
This pony straight to hell will lead
Where fire is applied to the body
Teeth are extruded and bones are ground
Then baked into cakes which are passed around.
Damn that's a cute pony. That's a pony I would, without hesitating, try to set right if I saw he was straying and heading toward his death in the harsh and unforgiving Wisconsin interior, instead of to his feed bucket.
It's a he, right?
Cute. Not japanese-level cute, though. Maybe if they had bigger eyes.
This sounds like a problem for... Chip Ahoy!
I'll go light up the cookie signal.
Nina's blogging this spring has been amazing. The idea of a 20-mile bike trek on a 50-degree Wisconsin afternoon chills me to the bone, but somehow Nina distills the experience into something both charming and illuminating. She inspires me to whine less and do more.
I'll go light up the cookie signal.
I love this blog.
BTW, Helen, I've always wanted to be Elastigirl. Well, ever since I saw The Incredibles.
Cover Girl is a real cutie and a proud miniature horse. Your Shetland pony looks sad.
Just the other day I visited a friend who breeds miniature horses and there was a day old foal. It was about 18 inches tall and totally adorable. I got a little tutorial on the difference between ponies and what's officially registered as miniature horses even though the latter can be quite diminuative.
BTW Joan: I've always wanted to be Joan. Well, ever since I read you on Althouse.
Nice moonrise shot too.
This guy got a great shot of January's Wolf Moon.
Shucks, Helen. Thanks!
