ADDED: Well, my commenters are giving me a hard time. How dare I criticize Sarah Palin for a non-error! My point -- as the second link showed -- was that since she had the format "Barack the [blank]," she should have had the reference to what Obama said to Joe the Plumber, that he wanted to "spread the wealth around." It's valid to peg him as a big spender -- though "wealth spender" is an awkward expression -- but it's more damaging and resonant to scare us about wealth redistribution.

Did Sarah Palin really call Obama "Barack the Wealth Spender"?
Is CNN reporting it wrong or is it the case that Palin cannot be trusted with phrase-turning? It should be "Barack the Wealth Spreader."

My best answer to the question posed to me a hundred and thirty posts ago as to why the visceral hate?
I think a lot of liberal women (as I am Jewish and immersed in a Jewish community, my experience is mostly with Jewish women) is that they feel they are part of a cause, a liberal progressive cause that is very much tied up with their identity as women. They get very touchy about things such as abortion rights-- for them its personal. "The political is Personal" is not just a saying, it's part of who they are. So any conservative woman, certainly any woman politician who is pro-life, is going to get their gourd up. So they'd hate a Phyllis Schafley or a Kay Baily Hutchison as well as a candidate (this is not a Jew vs. non-Jew thing, it's just I can't think of many Jewish female conservative politicians) Now add Sarah Palin's attractiveness and flirtatiousness. I told one woman I liked Sarah Palin and I was given a lecture on how men are duped by her flirting. These women are fine with sexuality coming from the left-- coming from the right, it's whoredom.
Yes, it's visceral hate. Not universal, but it's there.

This has nothing to do with hate, and I am not Jewish. It has to do with the fact that for being a governor, like Arnold Schwartznegger, she is just dumb. My opinion is that she makes women look bad. She is supposed to be representing all women, and women in power. And I personally feel that she is a joke. Not being able to answer questions intelligently for a person of her status, and education. it is an embarrasment. As far as abortion rights. it doesn't matter what she believes or what Obama believes, because you and I both know that this law will NEVER be changed, and neither will ever attempt to change it. It is only an opinion that they have. And religious groups always fall for it. We need to stick to the issues of why we're going broke, and who will fix this mess, and believe me, Palin is not qualified to do this. Perhaps neither of the candidates are, but she is definitely not qualified.
At least Lucky can be free. He always did seem to be a woman trapped in the body of a man.

Well, I'm not especially comfortable with all the discussion about JEws this and Jews that.
And, I don't think women hate Palin. I think they're embarrassed and insulted by her. But strong emotions are not always the same as hate.

The women I've talked to (don't know their ethnicity and don't dwell on that) make this case many times.

Not only a lie, but a particularly funny one coming from someone backing a ticket with both Barack Obama ad Joe Biden on it. Doesn't it make you embarrassed that "the fierce urgency of now" sounds like something Yes rejected as an album title because it was to corny?
The left has spent the last eight years trying to destroy the Bush administration, anyone who works for it, and increasingly, anyone who supported it (ineed, anyone who's insufficiently hostile). I really wonder if the right should take an "as they sow" attitude should Obama win. When the enemy wants to play scorched Earth, what are we supposed to to? Turn the other cheek?

I don't know. Dolores seemed a notch of nutty above and a notch of intelligence below LOS/Michael. Plus, LOS/Michael, for all his faults, could spell. When someone like Dolores shows up here for a fleeting moment, I always wonder how he, or in Dolores' case she, got here. Do people wake up sometimes and say, "I'm going to a random site to spread some stupid today." Theories?
