Response from the British Embassy in Washington:As “Winnie-the-Pooh” turns 100, Britain is renewing calls for the original stuffed bear and his friends to return from the New York Public Library. The library has resisted requests, citing the toys’ age and popularity. Oh, bother! https://t.co/hMAhdlFRpO https://t.co/wTquTiQL7q

LOL!
The British Empire is falling apart. Is this the first olive branch?
The Strait of Hormuz is closed until the UK falls.
The squirming and bleating is delicious.
Lloyds of London and Chatham house are the final boss.
Can an anemic British military protect Pooh and keep him safe from the agents of President Xi?
WaPo, so of course it is fake news.
The vicissitudes of beardom.
Wait... what?
From ai: Beardomizational is a rare, humorous nonce word meaning "of or relating to the process of inducting something into the state of being a bear".
The term was coined online by a blog commenter ("rhhardin") in October 2021 on the political and cultural blog Althouse.
It breaks down into three distinct linguistic pieces:
• Beardom: A playful noun extension of "bear" (similar to kingdom or fandom), referencing either literal bears or a specific perspective on masculinity.
• -ize: A suffix used to convert a noun into a verb meaning "to turn into" or "make like" (e.g., beardomize).
• -ational: A standard adjective suffix used to describe a process (similar to organizational or transformational).
Because it is a newly constructed, unofficial term, you will not find it in traditional resources like the Merriam-Webster Dictionary or the Oxford English Dictionary. Instead, it lives entirely within the realm of internet wordplay and niche linguistic commentary.
I bet that is not the only word coined in this here blog.
At this point it's a toss up as to which city will be more likely to have Talibs rampage through libraries and museums destroying all remnants of idolatry. Maybe the NYPL still has some non-self-hating Jewish staff that would put themselves between Pooh and the fedayeen, if only for a few seconds. CC, JSM
What are the Reds and the Greens going to do on their way out?
They are burning down France before LePen takes over. Will they get to sack London and New York City as well? Detroit?
I hate to pooh-pooh the whole story, but was there any evidence the UK Government wanted Winnie the pooh back? If not, why was there a controversy?
Of course it is good click bait. I was never really a fan of the books, although my daughter liked them. I like the Disney movies made in the 60s and 70s better.
The leftmedia cannot sink much lower in its campaign to denigrate the US than to drag Pooh Bear into it with fake news.
The original "Winnie" was a lost bear cub which in the chaos of WWI became the mascot of the Royal Winnipeg Regiment from Manitoba, still known as the Royal Winnies, and remain one of Canada's key combat regiments, taking a far greater casualty rate in A-stan than did the US.

I think it's more to do that Britain wants to keep the Elgin Marbles. Returning important artifacts to their country of origin would empty the British Museum.
WaPo is making it much more likely that the library will never lend the show to any group in Britain.
Confiscating Pooh from the rightful owners and sending him away is the kind of poo Mamdani would do for political reasons.
It seems like the Washington Post is lying. That's my first inclination.
I can see a yellow flag with Pooh, holding a rifle over his head like Charlton Heston: 'COME AND TAKE IT'
...and I'm surprised that nobody has coined the term, 'Pooh Diplomacy'
Or wounded WWII veteran CR Milne (the real life Christopher Robin) holding up Pooh and yelling the same. CC, JSM

Don't feel bad. Rejoice and be a pooh pooh maxxer.
The empire that has dominated geopolitics for over 400 years is falling and you are getting to watch the death throws.
George Washington started the job in the 1700s.
Trump is finishing it.
Maybe when the Brits give the Elgin Marbles back to Greece.
I guess it depends on who "Britain" is -- and whether there will be any Britain left when they bear gets there.
Shouldn't the Britons first be checking in with their soon-to-be Muslim overlords to see if having the Poohs in Londonstan is haram.
I say, if England wants Xi Jinping, they can have him!
"Oh bother," Said Pooh as he chambered another round.

Is that narrator the British version of the Valley Girl?
Amazing you can watch "Winnie the pooh and the blustery day" on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbvBQzluh4A
But warning: There are no dick jokes. And no Jewish borsh belt humor - Oy Vey! So some will be offended.
The low spark of high heeled toys.
More SWPL nonsense. Modern American kids mostly wouldn't know Winnie the Pooh from a hole in the ground.
I suppose they also want their pyramids back.
Stumbled upon that room of treasures in the NYC public library while walking around the park. One of the best sights of NYC.
