Lazarus said...: Deaths usually come in eights or fourteens. The latest is Jaye P. Morgan. She had a reputable career as a mainstream vocalist in the fifties and went on to be a fixture on Hollywood Squares and the Gong Show. I think she was either gay or a gay icon, but nobody's saying.

She and Donald Trump were both in "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York," but I don't think the flag will be flying at half-mast for her.; 8/26/26, 7:15 PM
john mosby said...: You may recall my ongoing legal troubles resulting from taking law enforcement action in the DC Metro two years ago. Well today I was the victim of an assault (really a battery, but DC gloms them both in one statute) in the Metro. I was riding the escalator from one platform to another when some wanker trying not to miss his train ran down the left side, holding an electric scooter, whose handlebar hit me in the back of the head.

I did what they wanted me to do back in 2024 and called the transit police.They responded quickly and did similar to what they did in my case, pulling the video to track the offender to his last stop, where they were able to interview him. They would not tell me much about him or the interview, but he apparently admitted to the actions but not any intent to hit me. So they are not taking the case any further.

What really smarts is that back in 2024, my affirmative defenses included apprehension of immediate harmful or offensive contact from the subway dancers’ erratic motions. And what happened today? I was harmfully and offensively contacted by Escalator Scooter Wanker’s erratic motion down the escalator with his handlebars wagging.

I am consulting with my attorneys to see what sort of hay can be made.

Conservatives were looking like they were going to win, and Alberta and Saskatchewan were looking at secession, and to join the US. Now, they are united against us, liberal and conservative.
