"... 'cause I think, you know, I’m supposed to be a very smart person, I can ... I have eyes. I have ears. I have, uh, knowledge. I have vast knowledge. I see what’s happening. I get reports that you will never see. And I think it’s horrible what’s happening to Europe. I think it’s endangering Europe as we know it. Europe could be a whole different place. And I think the European people should do something about it...."
Said President Trump, in this long conversation with Politico's Dasha Burns.

In the lead-in she says she discussed the "Obamacare subsidies that are set to expire at the end of the year." I see it stated that way a lot in media. It's misleading. The only subsidies that are set to expire are the enhanced Covid subsidies enacted in response to the pandemic. The original Obamacare subsidies remain as they always were. D's are freaking because without the extra strong Covid enhanced subsidies, they cannot even pretend that the "care" is "affordable." Fact is it's not affordable now; the cost is just masked by subsidies and the cost has gone up every year under the ridiculous system.
Paul Revere, George Washington and Ben Franklin favored shooting people.
Maybe the Brit people could try that.
Worked for us.
@FLC, sadly the Brits are so unarmed now that even having a sharpened tonque in public is like double-wielding Uzis.

The still have access to assault forks. At the moment...
I lectured my wife today, once again (!), on my belief that Trump is always in a negotiating mode. He has made several offers to Zelensky that have been rebuffed while Putin continues to strengthen his position in Ukraine. Part of my lecture was the question; " What if Trump decides to walk away from the Ukraine problem - leaving it in the hands of the Europeans?" ( In Labor 101 "walking away" is always a negotiating option.)The European powers are weak, Germany's armed forces are a skeleton of what they were 20 years ago. Only Poland seems truly committed to their own defense. If the US says it's had enough guff from France et al. and will no longer supply arms to Ukraine, France et al. don't have the ability to resupply Ukraine or resist Russia. It is unrealistic to expect Putin to give back what he has conquered. Someone in Europe has to face reality and push for a settlement before Trump says "I am walking."
Thanks for posting the transcripts. Its so much nicer. I can skip all the stupid questions and and interuptions and just read Trump's answers.
I'm glad is Trump is President when i look at the Russia-Ukraine war and European affairs. Whether the EU leaders will do anything to save themselves is unclear. They seem stuck on stupid.
Theres always pointed fruit
And I must say that Trump's constant attacks on MTG are stupid. Really stupid. I dunno what he's trying to accomplish by attacking her. Does he think the Liberal/leftists and NeverTrumpers will now like him because he's insulting her? He can't be that dumb.
But then his instinct is always to rely on Northeastern Moderates and liberals. Look at his 1st term hiring practices. One Ivy Leaguer and "Smart" person after another. And they all betrayed him. And his endorsements haven't been much better. Always trying to push some Celebrity or Minority candidate. No matter how incompetent.
Reality asserts itself.
apparently reality is a Putin Puppet too.
This is Trump trading Ukraine for Venezuela and possibly Cuba.

The globalists, in their quest to control the world, are doing this to the Europeans. Intentionally. If the people of Europe acted today, bloodshed won't be as bad as it will be in x number of years. The "x" is that point when enough have said enough.
Kennedy had some things right, "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable."

Meh. MTG sold us out and supported McCarthy. She was always a self promoter and MTG first.
@RCOCEAN: Noem - BA South Dakota State; Burgum - BA North Dakota State; Rubio - U of Florida; Bondi - U of Florida; McMahon - East Carolina; Rollins - Texas A & M; Vought - Wheaton College; Chavez-DeRemer U of California, Fresno; Gabbard Hawaiian Pacific University; Should I go on?
Sticks and stones
Require a loicense, holmes
But pointed fruit is a bleedin' felony!
If you read the whole interview, it appears that Europe's besetting sin is not excluding immigrants from black and brown countries. So Hungary, which does do so (and is also an authoritarian) state, is the best, in Trump's view. Seems to fit with Althouse's recent suggestion that Trump is aligning with racism wherever it can be found.
@Stephen: is it skin color or is it culture? The racist - if we must use that word - is the one who doesn’t look beyond skin color.
Achilles: This is Trump trading Ukraine for Venezuela and possibly Cuba.
Obvious for a while now, but an astonishing number of people don't see it.
The left: "Racist! Racist! Racism! Racist! Racist! Racist! Racist! Racism! Oh... and look- racism over there, too!"
Same as it ever was.
I’m not fond of that term because
1. it’s lost it’s meaning now and
2. it’s name calling and doesn’t add to the discussion.
Barry 12:50 - you got it.
the left are lying about their own subsidies and their own decision to sunset them.
they are tax payer funded ObamaCare subsidies for the more well-to-do.
"2. it’s name calling and doesn’t add to the discussion."
It’s name calling and is used to shut down discussion.
You can't talk about *that* (see: The N-word).
Europe focuses in their sphere, we do in ours
“Seems to fit with Althouse's recent suggestion that Trump is aligning with racism wherever it can be found.”
Because it resonates with his base. He can’t afford to lose anymore of them.
Mason G @ 2:55. The right has been accusing the left of overplaying racism for years. Why? Because the more they can make everything racist, the easier it is for them to downplay real racism.
Achillies @ 2:03, while Trump’s attacks on MTG may be, as you say, dumb, why is it that the physical threats to her and her family from those attacks aren’t, as you often say of fabricated left wing attacks, trying to get her murdered?
Anyone notice Trump gave himself an A++++++++ grade on the economy after his policies has it spiraling down the toilet. And he blames an inherited mess from Biden while he himself left Biden one of the worst economies in history.
Americans aren’t falling for Trump’s gaslighting on affordability. We have eyes that see the prices at the grocery store and so does Trump’s base, until things get bad enough though, they will fall for his gaslighting.
Of course they lie, thats why we have to go to samizdat sources
Like on substack and certain x accounts
The Race Card™ is worthless now but that doesn't stop the Left and the Useful Idiots here from playing it.
