How does the honorable judge Althouse view the underlying case subsequent award ceremonies? Trump could have testified under oath at the trial on the merits. He chose not to.
I take a different lesson from this.
Both Trump and Guliani are large men, larger than life, who have made bold, and because they made bold, achieved big things.
People look at the money and say: "Oh! 83 million!" and "Oh! 148 million". They look at bankruptcy, lost court cases and say "These men are ruined! How can they go on?"
And yet Trump and Guliani DO go on. They continue to make bold, and to achieve more. They have seen numbers like this, and know that they are not definitive. They have seen labels such as "ruined" and "finished" -- many times, and know they are just labels, applied by little people, unimaginative people, people who cannot envision the future, who cannot see the important things, whose judgement is of no worth.
83 million and 148 million are just numbers, and not the important ones. The important numbers are how many years of life remain, how many years of vigor -- and no one knows exactly what THOSE numbers are.
So what about us? We are, generally, not young. How will we spend our last years and our last vigor?
I have seen so many in their old age who hide in their senior residences, compulsively counting their money and worrying it will not last, afraid to come out and confront the world, to wrest one last victory, to gather up the last of the blessings bestowed upon them and risk them once more to attempt one last triumph.

I think we can ALL agree that Trump is a braggart and a loudmouth, and often behaves like an intemperate fool. These are not crimes, and in my opinion do not disqualify him from being a good president. I often wish he behaved more modestly, but then he really would not be Donald Trump, would he? The bottom line is that the legal moves being made against him are unprecedented and extremely damaging (or perhaps just revealing) to the reputation of our judicial system. Democrats laugh and revel in the fact that he cannot even hire decent lawyers, and is getting crucified (figuratively, of course, I don't think of him as a Christ figure, and shouldn't even have to write something so stupid). I think this is terribly short sighted behavior.
