"At least six British citizens were killed in Hamas’s attacks on Israel, Rishi Sunak told MPs this afternoon as he described the atrocity as a 'pogrom.'"

 The London Times reports.

The English word "pogrom" comes from the Yiddish (and Russian) word — "pogrom" — for destruction.

The OED definition: "In Russia, Poland, and some other East European countries in the late 19th and early 20th centuries: an organized massacre aimed at the destruction or annihilation of a body or class of people, esp. one conducted against Jewish people. "

The earliest English use was in 1889 ("This unprovoked attack of an armed force upon sleeping an defenseless prisoners is known..as ‘the pogróm of May 11’").

A second meaning, going back as far as 1906, is "An organized, officially tolerated, attack on any community or group." For example, in 1964, New Statesman wrote: "The charge that there had been a plot—a ‘pogrom’ in the contemporary phrase—to crush Ulster's resistance to Home Rule by force of arms."

The English word "redundant" comes from the English word "redundant."

Compare his reaction to the London mayor reaction.

I am not sure that the etymology of "pogrom" is the salient point of this...

So it's not a pogrom if the government runs it? As the British did in the late 1960s Northern Ireland with their concentration camp?

I believe the acknowledged first pogrom (maybe called that retroactively) was led by Bogdan Chmielnicki (Ukrainian, I believe), beginning in 1648, against the Jews of Poland. Thousands died savagely over the following few years. He's known in Jewish history as "Chmiel the Wicked."

The problem with peacemakers is that they never have a solution that the war mongers will accept. Obviously Hamas intended to provoke a response that would be widely seen as an severe overreaction by Islamic countries, who would then be drawn in. Still, Israel will find it politically all but impossible not to make the very moves that Hamas wanted to provoke. What do those who wish to avoid WWIII have to offer? Nothing that will work.

Meanwhile Lindsay Graham has a little pup tent going on in his trousers over the idea of war with Iran, a country which has strategic control over much of the world's oil supply due to the fact that so many of the tankers have to steam within a short distance of its coasts, and inconveniently at a time when Joe Biden has all but drained our SPR in order to keep prices down in order to get Democrats elected, and the US had severely depleted our stockpiles of artillery shells because Joe Bien has a pipe dream of "putting down" Putin.

Remember when we took 300K artillery shells that were pre-positioned in Israel and sent them to Ukraine? Does anybody think that our strategic rivals didn't notice that move? That they can't see that we are stretched pretty thin? Austin Bay is over at Insty worried that China may have noticed this fact. A few of our generals over the past few years have said that if we don't fight it out with China soon, we won't have a chance, because they will simply out manufacture us in ships, missiles, and plain old ammo. How many missiles does it take to overwhelm the air defenses of an aircraft carrier? We may soon find out!

Yer doin' great, Joe!

Ahem ... the Mayor of London was literally an al Qaeda terrorists lawyer.

I have bad news for British citizens who don't get out of Britain now: You're going to be murdered as an infidel.

Killing Gaza: "Journalists Dan Cohen and Max Blumenthal documented Israel’s 2014 war on Gaza.

Yet this film is much more than a documentary about Palestinian resilience and suffering. It is a chilling visual document of war crimes committed by the Israeli military, featuring direct testimony and evidence from the survivors.

"Max Blumenthal and Dan Cohen’s powerful new film, 'Killing Gaza,' offers an unflinching and moving portrait of a people largely abandoned by the outside world, struggling to endure."
-Pulitzer-prize winning journalist, best-selling author and activist Chris Hedges.

The Cossacks were pogrom specialists, and many of the most notable ones were in the Ukraine.

You! Get with the pogrom or get out!

As everyone knows Pogroms in the USA have reached an all-time high. Thank God, for the ADL.
The same is true of the UK. Even Jewish lawyers can't sue in court to get Brexit overturned without having to hide their names from anti-semites.

Its quite scary. You could say.
