"Alex Jones’ wife Erika Wulff Jones allegedly struck the far-right conspiracy theorist 'over 20 times' and threatened to hit him in the head with a stone ball, causing him to 'fear for his life'..."

"... according to police documents reviewed by The Daily Beast... According to the Travis County arrest affidavit, during an initial 911 phone call with police, Jones told an emergency operator that his wife had struck him over the head multiple times and was 'holding a polished club in her hand' and attempting to 'hit him with it.'... According to Jones, Erika had accused him of 'cheating on her,' leading to a violent altercation as the duo bathed their child.... Police located a stone, weighing approximately five pounds, in the primary bedroom... Jones told police that she never hit him with the stone, but 'threw it at his head, missing by inches.'... Jones insisted that she took down two police officers at their Austin home on Friday night after striking him '30 times,' mostly in the back of the head. 'So that’s what happens when someone has a chemical imbalance after surgery and the medication they had mixes together,' Jones said, 'and they literally go to cuckoo world, cloud cuckoo.'"

Didn’t Hillary do almost the same thing to Bill in the White House? Didn’t Hillary scream at Bill, “I need to be fucked more than twice a year!”

serious question
why is it, that we Often hear about some "far-right conspiracy theorist"...
but, we NEVER (EVER!) hear about far-left conspiracy theorists?

Or, do we; but they call them media personnel ??

Perfect couple for Austin.

A bit confusing when two characters share the same name, yet the author decides to use that name to refer to who is speaking.

Can't be true. No way Bill hit that even once a year.

Odd that in the middle of an emergency call he thought to notw that the club was "polished."

"Far right" must be code for racist. I mean, what else do they believe that is too far beyond the main stream?

anti-vax? - it doesn't seem like it.

anti-abortion? - the far right is huge then.

conspiracy theorist? - there are many of those on the left, i assure you.

Trump supporters? - that's probably the closet descriptor to what the media mean by the use of the term "far right".

I think a lot of places changed the law to require arrests in domestic violence cases in wake of OJ's history coming to light. Tough when it happens over holiday. Harder to get bail. Of course when you also get tagged for resisting arrest....

I'm thinking someone should send Ms Jones's resume and audition tape to The View.

I’m unable to see Althouse’s point in posting this and she provides no pithy comment to clue us in on what interests her enough in this blurb to present it to us. Is this another experiment to see what we extract from this abstract vignette?

And how often does the politics of the victim figure so prominently?

It's true. If I mix my horse de-wormer with my horse tranquilizers, I can be pretty...unreasonable...apparently.

Alex Jones has credibility issues.
He was loved by the left as a 9-11 inside job conspiracy theorist.

Then he moved over to the right and become the right's problem with his Sandy Hook insanity. Is he being honest about his wife? who knows. He's kookoo too.

Maybe because Hunter Biden is on camera with underage Chinese women provided by a country that is paying the Biden family billions of dollars and in another video Hunter is quoted as saving 10% for the "Big Guy" and whines to his daughter about how much his dad forces him to fork over from his profits?

In an article discussing an incident where Alex Jones was the victim of an attack, why was it necessary to label him "far right"?

When Smollet was convicted of a crime, they didn't call him "far Left". When Alec Baldwin goes on trial, they won't call him "far Left".

Why do you feel the need to justify this post?

It is an interesting post. It is a fun conversation to have. Alex Jones possibly planned/planted it as well.

Are you trying to justify it to yourself?

When your words and your actions match you will not feel the need to justify things like this.

jim5301 said...MikeR -- Explain why this is a non-story and yet any private matter involving Hunter Biden is banner headline material?

Because Hunter Biden is the son of, at that time, a candidate for the most powerful and consequential job in the world and the suppression of the Hunter laptop in the midst of the presidential campaign is a greater threat to the Republic than anything that happened on Jan 6. Alex Jones is pretty much nobody. He has no mainstream influence and his behavior doesn’t matter to the nation.

I don't listen to Alex Jones. I only heard about him recently in connection with his Sandyhook lawsuit.
Apparently he has admitted that his act is a shtick.
I followed a few links and ended up doing a web search on "Ray Epps" with interesting results.

The issue was that matters involving Hunter Biden were not banner headline material, and were in fact actively suppressed by our MSM/Social Media overlords.

Erika Jones is just good theater.

Alex got to have a threatening experience that wasn't really threatening. Got some attention too. Doubt this hurts him the way the NY press wants it to.

@jim "MikeR -- Explain why this is a non-story and yet any private matter involving Hunter Biden is banner headline material?"
Interesting question. I always assumed that any story about Hunter Biden was a story only because of the President of the United States. And it is a perfectly reasonable possibility that Russia and China have proof that would send Hunter Biden to jail for a long time, assuming they are not completely incompetent. It would have been easy to set up during one of his total loser phases, no? Badly underage girls, that kind of thing.
And that Joe Biden must know that.
Or anything else they have that connects Joe Biden with the corruption of his son and the rest of his family.
That's what makes it news.

He's a drunk. He buys Tito's vodka by the armload. His wife probably is as well. Don't let the old lady mix booze and pills after you cheated on her. This happens everyday in the USA. Randy Travis wrote about it in a dozen hit records.

Nope. The article never uses just "Jones" to refer to her. It's either "Wulff Jones", "Erika Wulff Jones", or "Erika" (or "she" and "her", of course).

This is where I get Alex Jones updates. That’s true. Used to hear his name used as an epithet by lefties occasionally but he hasn’t popped up in anything I consume until today. It’s an odd story and the excerpt here informs me little about him or his intersection with male DV “victim hood” as it were. My curiosity about Althouse and her intent (thanks for responding!) was greater than my interest in clicking through to learn more.

Mike (MJB Wolf) said...

I do agree with the above takes that highlighted Big Corp. Media’s habit of labeling even nominally conservative people as far right, right wing extremists, etc and never ever labeling even the kookiest progressives as far left. If there were any media consistency then Bernie and Pocahontas and the squad members would routinely deserve such a modifier in news stories. The total absence of such labeling proves the Iowahawk Theorem every day and this represents Big Media’s biggest ongoing obscurency.

Thanks to jim5301 for reminding us once again of the cooperation between the left wing news, the FBI and the Biden regime to suppress the story of Hunter's laptop. The FBI, just as in the Ashley Biden diary story, has verified that the laptop really was Hunter's and that they function as a Praetorian Guard for the Biden regime.

Well it might have something to do with Hunter's "private" matters usually involve him being used as a way for foreign nationals to funnel money to his dad, the current President of the United States. Also, the child he fathered with the stripper has been unpersoned by her grandfather, again the current POTUS. Those make it news worthy.

Jones on the other hand, is just a washed up loud mouth on the radio. His rantings have no effect on policy and he is of no public consequence. His domestic troubles, as trashy as they are, don't matter.
