And when you’re a female, they let you do it. You can do anything. Just bite. Don’t even wait. You can do anything.

Female privilege.

I'm reading "Sanaa Lathan confirmed as star who bit Beyoncé" at Page 6:
[Tiffany Haddish] describ[ed] the scene to GQ, “There was this actress there that’s just, like, doing the mostest. She bit Beyoncé in the face.”...

A source who was at the bash tells us, “It was a big thing in the moment at the party, everyone was talking about how anyone would dare to do that....

"Beyoncé’s at the bar, so I said.., ‘Did she really bite you?’” Haddish revealed, adding she told Beyoncé she was ready to beat down the barbarian... "[Bey] was like, ‘Tiffany, no. Don’t do that….. She’s not even drunk. . . Just chill,’” Haddish recounted.

Lathan has strenuously denied biting Bey, tweeting on March 27, “Y’all are funny. Under no circumstance did I bite Beyoncé and if I did it would be a love bite.”
Violence by women is brushed aside — a joke, a catfight, a quirky expression of "love." It's a privilege, but it's also how women are subordinated. What we do doesn't really matter. It's just a silly game. Move on. Compare Trump's silly playfulness that is the basis of my post title.

All Trump did was point out that hypergamy is a thing. Thats it. Something acknowledged and recognized by everyone on the planet, male and female, unless they're a disingenuous leftist like ARM pretending otherwise for political advantage.

Hypergamy? Sounds quite serious, not silly playfulness at all.

That's true. I had a rejected girlfriend break into my house and attack me, biting my arm badly enough that I went to the ER in the middle of the night. They got a good giggle out of it.

It is quite comical Ann the contortions you are willing to try these days to excuse Trump. If Bill Clinton said what Trump said you would never stop slamming him for it. But for Trump you will try to move mountains.

The reality is that Trump has a long history of mistreating women and he liked to brag about it. No amount of contortions by you or anyone else will make that disappear. You are just embarrassing yourself with these “well this is sort of like Trump, so maybe he should get a pass” nonsensical arguments you now feel so compelled to make.

The discomfort, to me, in this article is calling somebody about whom I don't care and certainly don't know personally, by the playful name 'Bey'. People really seem to need to build the above average but not uniquely talented Beyonce into something special. It doesn't make sense to me.

Some of her music is catchy. I wish her well as a human. But I cannot fathom the outsized attention people give her.

Be fair to Qwinn (the mighty Qwinn): he didn't say it wasn't serious. It is serious, and it's a serious tragedy. Trump only makes the awful reality more of an obvious cartoonish tragedy. But what do you want to do about it? Hillary was married to Bill Clinton. The same damned thing.

By the way, the first chapter of Jordan Peterson's book is great on the hypergamy topic and what men could do about it. It's got a lot about lobsters.

"A lobster loser’s brain chemistry differs importantly from that of a lobster winner....High serotonin/ low octopamine characterizes the victor. The opposite neurochemical configuration, a high ratio of octopamine to serotonin, produces a defeated-looking, scrunched-up, inhibited, drooping, skulking sort of lobster, very likely to hang around street corners, and to vanish at the first hint of trouble....When a defeated lobster regains its courage and dares to fight again it is more likely to lose again than you would predict, statistically, from a tally of its previous fights. Its victorious opponent, on the other hand, is more likely to win. It’s winner-take-all in the lobster world, just as it is in human societies, where the top 1 percent have as much loot as the bottom 50 percent... Maybe you are a loser. And maybe you’re not— but if you are, you don’t have to continue in that mode. Maybe you just have a bad habit. Maybe you’re even just a collection of bad habits... If you slump around, with the same bearing that characterizes a defeated lobster, people will assign you a lower status, and the old counter that you share with crustaceans, sitting at the very base of your brain, will assign you a low dominance number. Then your brain will not produce as much serotonin. This will make you less happy, and more anxious and sad, and more likely to back down when you should stand up for yourself. It will also decrease the probability that you will get to live in a good neighbourhood, have access to the highest quality resources, and obtain a healthy, desirable mate..."

It is drawing a long bow to extrapolate from lobsters to human behavior. To begin with, lobsters don't have a lot of neurons so their behavioral repertoire will necessarily be very limited compared to humans.

I'm sure they did. Had it been the other way round, though, you would have been in jail quicker than you could say "Robert is your father's brother".

Woman beating man? Great humor. Especially if there is a weapon involved. See Ms Dithers in Blondie (umbrella), Andy Capp's wife (Large purse), Maggie of Maggie and Jiggs (rolling pin), Loweezy of Snuffy Smith (Frying pan) (All routine occurrences in the daily and sunday comic strips as recently as 10-15 years ago. Perhaps still.

If she'd hit you with a baseball bat, they probably would have been rolling on the floor laughing so hard you might have just bled out unattended.

Violence against men, by their domestic partners, occurs at about the same rate as against women.

FWIW: woman on woman and man on man, in loving gay relationships occurs at about the same rate too.

Why isn't the woman who bit Beyonce facing charges?

Or at least being totally ostracized.

I like her non-denial too "If I did it it would just be a love bite." Well, OK then.

you mean the "they'll let you grab their pussy remark"?

Seems to me that this is a true statement. If you are a celebrity, they will not only let you grab their pussy, they will throw panties and room keys on stage, break into your room and crawl naked into your bed, make plaster casts of your dick and more.

If you are REALLY celebretious, like the Rolling Stones, the Wife of one PM and mother of another, will blow all 5 of you.

And if you are presidential level celebrity, they will invite you to shove a cigar up their twat and your dick down their throat.

Give the pussy grabbing a rest, ARM. It makes you seem like a dick.

Lobsters are simpler things. But dominance/status works with humans too, and Peterson is making analogies.

As for women, when I was young and handsome (and, I guess, had considerable status besides) they would take liberties indeed. And that was in a more innocent time.

I took my mate from another lobster, so that part worked also.

What? That both lobsters and humans are animals that have social hierarchies that effect an individuals mating success?

Bill Clinton was an admitted rapist and had a long history of violence against women. This included trips to pedophile isle to cavort with underage girls.

There is not one credible story/accusation of Trump being violent or forceful in any way against women.

Adulterers are weak people and cause emotional pain to people around them. Rapists like Clinton belong in jail.

The two species are so quantitatively different as to produce a qualitative differences that defy direct analogies. Lobster's don't write sonnets, although they do produce shit. Numerous sources tell us that “Love & Basketball” star Lathan had been talking to Jay-Z at a D’Usse VIP party backstage after his gig in Los Angeles last December, but when Bey stepped in, Lathan playfully bit her on the chin.

One male-female difference, and why hypergamy is something gender-specific.

When men stray, they are much less likely to leave altogether. Indeed, their preferred outcome is to have their cake and eat it too.

Men are natural polygamists. The King in "The King and I" was entirely correct.

When women stray, they tend to decamp altogether.

If I were Beyonce, I would keep mum about the incident. There are a lot of copy cat face biters out there, just looking for their moment of infamy. There's some marginal rap artist who would like nothing more than to be the one who bit off Beyonce's nose and thus achieved lasting fame. I hope her security detail is alert to this possibility.

So you are an expert in the mating patterns of humans? Are you denying that women are attracted to successful men? Are you denying that successful people who present themselves in a way that displays confidence and competence are typically more successful and have more opportunities? Are you denying that groups of people organize very quickly into hierarchies, and that they typically organize based on perceptions of confidence and competence?

Have you ever been in a situation where people are thrown together and natural leaders emerge very quickly and an emergent cooperation occurs?

Do you get out of your mother's basement at all?

What Peterson says is not controversial or even questionable by anyone with any experience dealing with other people.

There is a fundamental asymmetry between males and females in the amount of resources they invest in reproduction. This asymmetry exists in all species that have males and females, and results in similar behavioral adaptations. You may call that a metaphor, or an analogy, or an iron law of biology. Up to you.

What's truly religious in behavior is the orthodox leftist attack on Jordan Peterson. I you're on the left, you must condemn Peterson.

The interesting point is that winner and loser are both carrying out evolutionary strategies. Presumably, Winner is a high-risk/high-payoff strategy, and Loser has some other strategy with lower payoff, but also lower risk. Losing a confrontation is powerful evidence that the Winner strategy is not for you. If this were not true, everybody would just keep pursuing the Winner strategy.
