A 63-year-old woman confronts Bill De Blasio as he's doing a little appearance in Queens about reparing the tree-root damage to sidewalks. She looks and sounds great as she yells at him: "I want to know why you let your police officers down and our country down by going to Germany and protesting against our country."
But after he walks away, you see the reporters calling her over to perform for them. They've found a story. So she accepts the role, continuing her sound-off, aimed at their microphones. And it goes on and on, as she inhabits the stereotype of angry citizen for the cameras.
The story at The Blaze is "Elderly woman angrily confronts Bill de Blasio for jetting to Germany — so he takes cowards way out." "Elderly" — I'm sure that's not how she sees herself! And don't be afraid to put the apostrophe in "cowards."

63 ain't elderly.
Use of the word "elderly" - which is inaccurate - is another reason why we hate the MSM.
Just watched Jake Tapper go insane over Russia. George S follows with more insanity.
The entire scope of Russian interference with the election was hacking Podesta's email. It told us what we already knew about him and the disgusting Neera Tanden.
Watch voter ruin mayor before your eyes.
63 ain't elderly.
If you're 27 it is.
In other news, remember the gentle giant who kicked off this whole BLM nonsense, Michael Brown? You know, the one whose three autopsies and a federal investigation under Eric "my people" Holder determined was shot and killed in self-defense after attacking a police officer minutes after committing strong armed robbery, whose stepfather stood on a car and repeatedly yelled "burn this shit down" as "protesters" were smashing store fronts and engaging in a little back to school shopping? Yeah, that Michael Brown. His family's getting a $1.5 million settlement while Darren Wilson has effectively been tarred as a homicidal racist and had his career ruined.
Welcome to the new America folks, and please repeat after me. We. Are. Doomed.
That woman would wear out a 27 year old guy in the sack.
I have given up watching the Sunday talk shows until this TDS is finally over.
The latest is the uncorroborated story that Sessions talked with the Russian ambassador, blah, blah, blah.
They did not hack the election but they sure have the Democrats' number and the insanity scale is over 11 on a 10 point scale.
The last time the Russians had this much influence over this country, FDR was president and Harry Dexter White was asst Sec Treasury,.

That settlement is about as ludicrous as it gets, but I like to think - hope - that the corrupt legal system can be brought under control. Maybe in a few generations.
"We Are Doomed: Reclaiming Conservative Pessimism"
She's an attractive and youthful-looking 63. The voice is straight out of central (Queens) casting.
I saw another story where she's already getting meetings with DiBlasio opponents.
@Fernandinande:
"We Are Doomed: Reclaiming Conservative Pessimism"
Ha. Derbyshire's book is precisely what inspired me to begin using the phrase ;)
Amending tcrosse.
If you're 27 and know everything there is to know it is.
And I'd put the apostrophe after the 's' in cowards.
Does the 63-year-old woman wear a "blue thong?
"We carry with us the powerful message that lives in our hearts, which we gained (and we don't mean pounds) from what we fought for in our youth and how it made us the wonderful and powerful women we are today. We’ve never been good at sitting down and shutting up and we’re not about to start now. Blue haired? No way. Blue Thong? Any day."

@David Begly
The entire "Russian interference" story is publishing authentic emails from within the DNC and John Podesta's email account which demonstrated that the DNC rigged the primaries to make sure that Hillary got the nomination. Podesta's emails did not matter all that much since it mainly showed that Hillary's campaign was middle school infighting. The only party truly embarrassed by Podesta's emails was the national press, which openly colluded with Clinton's campaign to defeat Trump (which is why the press will never let it go -- they were exposed and will never forgive the persons they believe exposed them).
One erson explained that hte reason that they do not care all that much about hte RUssia story is that Democrats are liquored up about getting caught, nothing more.
I love her.
F the Left. Really - F the liar liar liar corrupt left.
Thong Bung Blue?
J Farmer.
Depressing.
Wrongful death?
That thug tried to kill a police officer after robbing a convenience store.
No matter - the leftwing press (the press) used it as a springboard to further divide us, with their lies.
Ferguson - where mom and pop businesses were burned down for a lie.
Thanks hack press. Nice job. Now the tax payers of MO get to pay for more lies.
Tyrone Bonebad, Interracial Pornstar, says....
Yeah, I'm that brother you see in the internet porn, fucking the little white girls in the ass. So I get to the set a few days ago -- I usually arrive early, so I can get some casual meet time with the chick before I ravage her anally -- and it turns out the tiny young white chick is actually a 63-year-old white Grandmother: what the fuck...?
I mean, I'm okay doing the occasional MILF, but a Grandmother? I just ain't down with that. You get older, you lose your elasticity, and that can't be good for the ass-sex, you feel me...?
Don't get me wrong, she was a nice old lady: she showed me pictures of her grandkids and things she knitted and shit. But I sure as hell ain't gonna be the guy banging her ass from behind until she breaks a hip...
Turns out I was supposed to ass-fuck Grandma AND her grand-daughter. I told them 'No way' and was about to leave when they said 'how 'bout you just fuck the grand-daughter in the ass and Grandma will only lick your balls?'
I thought about it for a moment, then figured What The Hell: if Granny wants to lick my Big Black Balls then let her lick my Big Black Balls...
So I fuck the grand-daughter in the ass with my Big Black Monster Cock while Grandma licks my shaved balls, everything is going fine, when Grandma she loses control of the back end, you know what I'm saying? And they had wanted me to ass-fuck her? Damn straight Bone-T was right to pass that shit up...
Don't get me wrong: I still work hard on my Rhymes: I ain't giving up the Dream. But until then I fuck lil' white girls in the ass to make my bank until I get the Big Time Hook-Up...
I am Laslo.
This woman got her message out and the fact she was snarkily referred to as 'elderly' is only of peripheral concern.
@J. Farmer: Your observations are on point. Brown's parents walk away millionaires in reward for their bad parenting......We learned quite a bit about Darren Wilson's and George Zimmerman's past life. There's been a discreet silence about the past domestic lives of the Brown's and the multiple parents of Trayvon Martin........They're trying to make her out to be the "little old lady in tennis shoes". By contrast, Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters are exemplars of how to age with dignity. Any journalism major can see that.
@William:
Brown's parents walk away millionaires in reward for their bad parenting.
Welcome to the New America, where nothing is ever your fault...unless you're a straight white male, then everything is your fault.
The press taking a cheap shot at a woman who uttered a tough truth is in line with its treatment of other ordinary citizens who dare challenge the press' progressive Gods. As an example, think Joe the Plumber, who had the audacity to ask a question showing that Obama had socialist underpinnings. The press threw everything they had at him, and we knew more about Joe the Plumber in two days than we ever did about Obama's dalliances with drug use or radicals (sometimes violent radicals).
This woman is just fortunate that the press is not as deeply in love with DeBlasio as they were Obama or Clinton.
Derbyshire's book, "We Are Doomed" was one of the funnier books I've read the past decade.
The cowardice of NR is firing him when his piece about explaining reality to his kids was published in another magazine, is about half of why I gave up on them. The other half was the insane issue about Trump in January 2016.
I was still a skeptic about Trump at the time but the NR issue was crazy and some of the writers, like Kevin Williamson, have not recovered.
@J. Farmer
Progressive politicians throwing tax money at politically correct citizens who had legally dubious cases was a disturbing trend in the Obama years. Baltimore also gave $6.4 million to Freddie Gray's family.
Well, there's somebody's lawn I gonna stay clear of.

Derbyshire's The Talk: Non-Black Version is about as honest and concise a statement on modern race relations one is likely to read. Unfortunately, Derbyshire's cold British empiricism is no match for today's emotion-laden virtue-signaling pablum.

Vickie Paladino is her name? Wonder if she's related to Carl Paladino. Similar personality type.
Schumer says the democrat party is going to offer a program to raise wages and lower prices and some third thing too. The lady should like that.
Imagine a New York if the media were as feisty as this lady with anti-americans Democrats.
"Is Chuck Schumer ready to embrace free markets.?" Should be the headline when his program is reported
"Is Chuck Schumer ready to embrace free markets.?" Should be the headline when his program is reported.
Except, there are no such things as "free markets." A commitment to so called "free markets" is a Conservatism Inc talking point that should be jettisoned. I've long thought that Trump would do well to triangulate and come out for, say, a $12 an hour minimum wage or propose lowering Medicare eligibility to age 50.
David Begley said; "63 ain't elderly."
Thank you. (I am 64 and very active).
I like Vickie's NYC spunk. People here in the Midwest would consider her brash and impolite, but I find her directness refreshing.
Sometimes New Yorkers annoy me and sometimes they are a breath of fresh air. Hmm... that reminds me of a political figure.
Hey, de Blasio, ya gagootz. I got your 'elderly' right here in the stugots.
Wiki says that the "elderly" are 65 or older - so if the shoe fits, you have to wear it. Our protester said she has lived in New York for 63 years and her accent proves her to be a "New Yawker." But she didn't say she was "only" 63 years old. The fact that she has allowed her gray hair show is the real sign of a maturity that puts her high on my list - but us old folks are always looking for a shining example of wisdom.
Could it be that a certain blogger who just retired from the University of Wisconsin System is getting sensitive about her age.
Can you imagine Ed Koch standing there taking crap from someone for a long period of time? I still remember being in high school and watching Ed tell a pissy constituent to "FUCK OFF!" after trying to reason with them for 5 minutes while every other word out of the constituent's was bleeped out. Good times.
I got the message that she didn't approve of Mayor De Blasio's recent trip to Germany. But, why? Other than that, she didn't make a lot of sense. It's hard to control one's anger some times. Most people are quickly turned off by a nonstop stream of anger that, in this instance, was clearly poorly explained. Her age is irrelevant to her offensive squawking like a noisy crow. But the reporter was trying to describe her without referring to her as a cranky old witch who hates Bill De Blasio.
The woman is right. He was elected Mayor. His job is to fix potholes and provide municipal services Not Secretary of State. He is wasting the NYC taxpayers money and time.

Do you think we're doomed? Even though almost nobody ever correctly predicts anything of much significance, I'd be curious to hear what people think might happen in the next, oh I dunno, 50 years or more.
Though not great writing and suffering from characters' names like "Bing" and "Goog", Shriver's "The Mandibles: A Family, 2029-2047" was uncomfortably plausible.
"she didn't approve of Mayor De Blasio's recent trip to Germany. But, why?"
I doubt we could explain it to you.
Police are people beneath the notice of the left; until someone mugs you or breaks into your house.
You really do not have any idea, do you ?
"'Elderly — I'm sure that's not how she sees herself!"
She may not see herself as a woman either, but neither of those is really her call.
If she's still "middle aged" objectively, she's borderline at best.
Whether she is or isn't "elderly" is irrelevant anyway. She's right.
She's not elderly, she's one of the new middle aged, per the preceding post.
The democrat party would not exist in it's current form if it actually had to face a critical media and justify it's terrible policies.
It is why the democrat party is now a failing regional party headed for obscurity and it's members are too stupid to see it.
Fernandinande:
Do you think we're doomed?
Most probably. Arthur Schlesinger, Jr. wrote The Disuniting of America: Reflections on a Multicultural Society nearly 30 years ago, and the problem has only worsened since then. I do not believe you can run a functioning nation-state without a coherent nation. Samuel Huntington's 2004 Who Are We? The Challenges to America's National Identity explored similar themes. A similar phenomenon has unfolded in Britain where the EU's single common market insanely required the free movements of people. The displacement this caused has helped push a surge of immigration restrictionism across Europe, particularly in the east and was a large factor in pushing the British voter towards Brexit.
That said, I always considered Trump a hail mary pass, and so far the signs haven't been promising. But if he can get the wall built, get universal E-VERIFY, and get a workable visa entry/exit tracking program going, it will be worth it.
Her age is irrelevant to her offensive squawking like a noisy crow.
I never asked you your age, Trumpit, but you're right, it's irrelevant to your constant screeching. How's your mom?
It's okay for this "nasty woman" to protest Mayor De Blasio's trip to Germany to protest against Trump. The irony of her arrogance. She got her 15 minutes of fame; now she can die happy.
When I was a kid, I thought 65 would be the end of the road. As a teen, I realized it was because Grandma was always complaining the Republicans were going to kill Social Security, and the old people would die.
"We never much thought we could get very old
We thought we could sit forever in fun
But our chances really was a million to one"
She got her 15 minutes of fame; now she can die happy.
Does that mean you've had enough?
Trumpit did mayor commie go to Germany on his dime and on his vacation time?
@Bad Lieutenant,
It bears repeating: You are an evil fascist monster. Stop trolling me, or else.
Please don't troll me fascist Cubanbob. You are a nasty man.
She definitely looks young and vibrant in my books. I started considering myself elderly at about 75, 5 years ago. This woman is in the prime of her life. She reminds me of some very good friends of mine. Someone must have forgotten that 60 is the new 40, at least that seems to be what 60 year olds would like to think. I doubt she is over 65 at most.
The real point is she is right, he needs to take care of NYCity and not try to be Ambassador to Germany.

DeBlasio gonna have plenty more opportunity to attend assassinated cop funerals. Germany trip once in a lifetime, right Trupit?
@FullMoon
If you don't like the Mayor's policies take it up with him; Write him a letter, or get your ancient raggedy ass out on the street to protest his actions. Don't take it up it with me. You live on the dark side of the moon, frankly.
Trumpit whined...
"...offensive squawking like a noisy crow."
Not too long ago this was considered "speaking truth to power". Boy have times changed!
Was it Berkeley that started this whole chicanery of having its own foreign policy by declaring itself a "nuclear free zone"? New Yorkers are right to give DeBlasio crap for wasting time protesting trump in germany when he should keep his head down and try to fix the things he was elected for like making the streets look less like Calcutta and cutting down on the number of police officers executed in the streets.

Thanks! I'm more concerned about a monetary collapse before a multi-culti collapse, but one might lead to the other.

Say hi to your mom for me.
How do you think you can be (ok, Co tend for) the biggest jerk on record, to everyone here and to people you've never met, and not get some back? Your mother didn't teach you to act this way.
Fernandinande:
Thanks! I'm more concerned about a monetary collapse before a multi-culti collapse, but one might lead to the other.
Oh I'm not much worried about that at all. I think we should try to rid ourselves of an economistic, GDP-growth-at-all-cost worldview.

Self-awareness? Party of one?
Your table is ready.
How was she ruined?
"When I was a "
Me too. Of course neither of my parents reached age 60.
I'm 65 and feeling pretty good. I thought whether I'm getting old a couple of weeks ago in Pamplona, Spain while participating in the Running of the Bulls.
"How was she ruined?"
As a viral star.
I like her style.
A friend of mine is 79 and when she had a fainting spell in the heat a cop came to her aid and said on his walkie-talkie (or whatever they call it these days), "I have an elderly woman here. . . ." At the use of the "e" word, my friend got angry; but later she told me she had to admit he was right, and she said one is a senior citizen until age 75, and after 75, elderly. I don't know if this an official distinction or not.
Most people, if they think we'll of her when she's just shouting at him, will continue to think we'll of her during her gaggle with the press. There's hardly any difference in style or substance between the before and after.
And so too will people who found her obnoxious while yelling, find her obnoxious during the gaggle
People here are missing the point: did any of the media covering the event ask the mayor to explain his jaunting over to Europe? They did not. They pounced with relief to gaggle with the irate citizen. It gave them an excuse to say we cover what happens in the city.
NY is turning into Venezuela!
