"To come out and proudly boast you have one of the country's most magnificent creatures hanging on your wall is both unscrupulous and, frankly, professional suicide."

There's some discord over the "Exmoor Emperor," now deceased, but once the largest individual animal in all the realm.

The professional, activist left is despicable. Protesting the trophy won't save the stag; worse yet, there is no indication whatsoever the taking was done against the law, so why all the whining?

Hunting hurts feelings? Get over it. If one's ancestors didn't hunt, they didn't eat.

Fucking poseurs.

Ms. Carter needs to get the fetlocks turned into a gun rack.

This is the sort of thing you expect from the Lefties.

All they're really about is hate and destruction. Their ideas don't work, and they know it, and all they can do now is accumulate as much power as possible.

Mmm. Venison.

But he'd be deceased by now anyway, right?

One just has to read the comments on the web site. So typical of leftist foolishness.

"The hotelier refused to disclose where she obtained the head but said: “I was lent it by a member of the local shooting community and that is all I will say.""

Wow. You get a deer like that, and you have to keep it a secret. That's a damned shame. That's the disservice to the animal, right there. Here's this magnificent trophy; let's hide it, let's keep it under wraps. What a stupid waste.

I guess the animal rights nuts would have preferred that this deer get hit by a truck, or become so old that it would succumb to pneumonia or starvation during the winter.

That stag was one horny male animal. It was a shame to kill him.

It was during the rut, so maybe he died happy.

Hard to believe the Brits are descended from the Vikings and Saxons--or even the Victorians.

So, it is the hunting part that is 'teh evil'?

How about if it was just t-boned by a big truck instead of a bullet and turned into instant venison hamburger on the road?

Would that be ok with the animal activists? Or would they want to ban all trucks and autos to stop the inhumane carnage?

Bozos.

Book recommendation: Death in the Dining Room by Kenneth Ames.

From the synopsis:

The dining room was a shrine to the notion of "man's" dominion over nature - each elaborately carved sideboard displayed a frieze of slaughtered game and harvested vegetation.

Probably the animal activists would have trucks and autos designed so that the humans inside would die instead of the deer they hit. Humans are a disease...

Smart Car. Shoebox on wheels. Rolling death trap. The most efficent way to announce to the world "I am a brainwashed moron!"

Fauxrage and acquiescence. It's England.

Time to call the animal rights activists what they are - a pack of childless females, gay couples, sterile couples lacking children - who pevert and misplace paternal love onto pets and animals in the wild.
This has not as much to do with the right or left as those brainless partisans that see everything as a Republican or Dem issue imagine.

Now we can understand the emotion for a family friend & companion dog - but a women launched into hysterics at seeing a clip of chickens being processed at a plant? Hearing that a gay baby whale beached itself in a country the hysterical woman cannot find on a map??
That one of her 13 cats died?
A gay couple upset that surplus kangaroos are being culled?

Psychological malady.
And the best thing is to tell them they have perverted love and affection onto creatures and things (middle aged man's trophy Porsche) that do not reciprocate the frustrated love and affection those lacking reproductive offspring have to deal with.

I'm not much of an outdoorsman, but I gather from the ruckus that red deer live forever unless they're killed by hunters.
