Ouch, indeed. Though as nail-on-chalkboard as GM can be, Alpha was far more annoying.

It's not easy being garage.

I believe Garage is going through a change of life and will emerge shortly as a wing nut Conservative.

But that will be no fun.

David said...

"I thought that Alpha was the favorite target."

Garage shows occasional humility. Alpha? Never.

This is a good day to be humble, Garage. Show your human side. We will embrace you.

Come gather 'round lefties
At the Capitol dome
And admit that the recalls
Have brought a new gloam
And accept it that soon
What most of Wisconsin has known.
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better stop protestin’
Cuz you’re sunk like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.

Bushman of the Kohlrabi said...

Unlike most of the resident lefties, garage makes this place more interesting. I'm glad he survived the night.

I wish I was either smart enough or stupid enough to get such Althouse acclaim. I really don't care which. Fame is it's own reward.

Trooper York said...

Hey Garage Mahal is allright with me.

He just has to get over his totally mistaken and misguided views.

He has to realize that the New York Giants are going to win the Super Bowl.

Trooper York said...

The Green Packers are being recalled.

bagoh20 said...

Garage, walk toward the light!

Pastafarian said...

You know, of the liberal Althouse commenters, only garage can take anyone having fun at his expense. I've never seen anything close to self-deprecation from Alpha, or Ritzy Brassiere (whatever happened to that guy?), or Cooke.

purplepenquin said...

I often wondered if Ann was serious with her commentary or if she simply liked stirring the pot and rousing the rabble.

This post seems to answer that question pretty clearly.

bagoh20 said...

We do need more lefties here, a lot more. I'm not suggesting a breeding program, but maybe Althouse could beat on Bush for a while to lure them in. Maybe a post along the lines of:

"Bush seen with Palin on corporate jet hunting polar bears with assault rifles."

Kirk Parker said...

Making fun of a guy on suicide watch? Have you no shame???

My head hurts.

Take two apsirin and don't call me in the morning.

Nothing surprises me in Wisconsin any more, except sanity.

Chip S. said...

This post seems to answer that question pretty clearly.

You mean this post that's drawn only 11 more comments than a webisode of Mendocino Forest Rangers, with most of the comments being sympathetic to garage?

I feel confident that I speak for all the rabble here when I thank you for deigning to toss your pearls of wisdom before us.

Christopher in MA said...

"My head hurts."

Banging it against the wall all night will do that, garage.

Pastafarian said...

bagoh's right, Althouse. You need to throw the lefties some red meat. There aren't enough of them left around here to make it sporting.

It's really not Althouse's fault, it's ours. We need to exercise a little restraint next time. Maybe we should issue permits, and you have to tag your liberal douchebag immediately after eviscerating him.

Fen said...

We do need more lefties here, a lot more.

They don't last long.

And Houston the Republicans do have a problem-even though they have a majority of one-

didn't Schultz or someone with a name like that vote with the Democrats?

So .....ya. Would be nice to have a greater margin than the one vote.

********

In defense of garage-

I didn't read all of the threads yesterday-but in the one I did see-within minutes he admitted he wasn't that positive and then he made a rather cogent prediction of the outcome-

You probably don't need to worry Garage. Like the Democrats, the Republicans ran away from the budget issue. Big mistake for them. It reduced the races to smear campaigns on both sides. That tends to turn off all but the most organized voters.

All hail Garage Mahal!
Like Dick Nixon after the 1960 election, who will we have to kick around anymore?

Just like Nixon, garage will return. Tanned, rested, and ready. With his superfriend, Agnew Liberal.

I know! If ever we could count on someone to kick a guy when he's down, it was Fen! Ooh-rah!

At least we still have Shouty. He's always willing to land that extra boot-blow on a guy writhing on the ground and bleeding from the ears.

Don't you mean Headless Body Of Agnew?

Carol_Herman said...

Well, exactly what was the professor doing? Teaching? Seems to me he was "playing out the clock," by seeking a student because he saw an empty chair.

I didn't see the movie.

Do professors still you black chalk boards?

Didn't students belong to sororities and fraternities ... because there were "houses" that held test answers?

Meanwhile, I hope Garage comes back.

In shopping malls, too, you want to see a whole variety of customers. Not empty spaces, which in the past had been filled by cars.

The name calling bullies here are all ass holes. They collect like bubbles in a glass of water, though. You know why? Canada Dry put a pretty girl on a rock. Gazing into the water. And, this sold what's in the bottle, because people think they're gonna find the naked girl, inside.

Then? They join a club. Is beer the beverage of choice, there?

Meanwhile, I like a house with a garage. No room left, though, to park my car, inside.

Chip S. said...

No, Carol. Canada Dry, oddly enough, has an image of North America on its label.

You're thinking of White Rock, as discussed on this very site last week.

chickelit said...

Meanwhile, I like a house with a garage. No room left, though, to park my car, inside.

Not having basements, many Californians use their garage as such.

Not me though, of course.

chickelit said...

@ChipS. Perhaps Carol just misremembered.

I did that the other day. Nobody caught it yet.

Chip S. said...

I'm sure you're right, CL, but it seems to be such a vivid image for her that I thought I'd help her find it.

I'm afraid she might be wasting money on Canada Dry when she could be buying White Rock.

This thread is ....funny as hell.

Come back to the five and dime-

Chip S. said...

Actually, I'm disappointed that Carol doesn't seem to have been a fan of the greatest soda brand of them all, Clicquot Club. Not only did it have a cool logo, it even sponsored a banjo orchestra.

Canada Dry makes OK tonic for G&T's...

What do you suggest instead?

Chip S. said...

Schweppes. Accept no substitute for your G&Ts.

Chip S. said...

And I buy White Rock club soda, just for the label.

What the hell, it's only club soda.
