Check it out. I'm looking at the fax somebody sent to California State Sen. Leland Yee and wondering if it's from a fan of Rush Limbaugh's or somebody hoping to make Rush Limbaugh look like the horrible man the left would so dearly love you to believe he is.
Somebody's faxing racist death threats to Yee? Trace it down. I want to know who. Racist death threats are intolerable and so is the generic dispersal of blame.

The use of the word "rectum" makes it seem authentic. Rush has a serious anal fixation and he has imparted it to many of his fans.
p.s. Rush is a horrible man in that he has made millions of dollars aggravating the grievances of miserable people. There are definitely way worse things a person can do. But I wouldn't call him a paragon of civic service.
Look, nobody needs to get their opinion of Rush from anywhere but listening to Rush. He's like the sun; he's there every day, all around you, talking, telling you what he thinks and who he is. If you don't know Rush first hand and still form an opinion, you are lazy and should keep your opinion to yourself. If you can't take the time to research Rush, you probably don't know much about anything else you talk about.
Yeah, the would-be false-flag operatives can't seem to resist the temptation to caricature.
It could be from a deranged neo-nazi who doesn't get Limbaugh, but it looks more like something done by a high school "activist" trying to highlight the threat Limbaugh et. al. represent.
So this is what a reich-wing racist hate note looks like in the mind of a liberal. A picture of a pickup truck; Germanic lettering for "Achtung".
All it needs is a Nascar logo and a banjo.
It's a real mystery who sent this.
Skeptical? Noooo, really?
He lost me with the truck with the noose and the little Obama head. Sorry. Possible nutter. Possible faker trying to slander the right. I am skeptical.
I bet this is a leftist trying to bring down Rush.
I just heard were the Tucson nut Jared Loughner had been on the internet in the days leading up to his murderous deeds.. Not a Sarah Palin site nor a Rush site and not a Michele Bachmann site.. oops.
OK, let's say it WAS a ditto-head. So What? Are the Beetles responsible for Charlie Manson? By the implied logic of the current critical "atmosphere" they are. This way lies madness...
I didn't know Dan Rather was still using fax machines.
Well it certainly wasn't written by Jerry Killian. They didn't have Brush Script back then.
From personal experience...
-- Listening to Limbaugh in no way makes you racist. Unless you have a very weak mind, listening to anything shouldn't make you anything, really.
-- Limbaugh is definitely the #1 show among racists. All the bald racists I've known have been avid listeners. People who have argued to me that the end of exclusive white male suffrage was when everything went wrong.
What conclusions you draw from that, if any, are up to you.
@Pogo. You beat me by seconds.
But I wouldn't call him a paragon of civic service.
I don't believe Rush would describe himself that way himself. I could be wrong, but then again, I've not listened in a quite a while.
@Henry
Complementary and complimentary.
"All the bald racists I've known have been avid listeners."
Maybe it's the bald thing they relate to.
I bet few Black or Latino racist listen to him, and there seems to be more of those around my circle, but they don't need to hide their racism, so I can see it, bald or hairy.
So some of you are actually seriously entertaining the thought that this is an actual right-wing racist?
Really?
It's the same "language and graphics" used in another fax (who uses faxes anymore?) the last time this obscure state senator decided to draw attention to himself by punching up (way up) by criticizing nationally recognized figures on the right.
So this obscure state senator is being continuously monitored by a secret right-wing racist organization with a fetish for pickup trucks.
And it just happens to make this guy look like a victim of racist thugs to his constituents, on equal footing, in his victimhood, with their beloved President Obama.
Wow.
Hey guys, I'm wondering if you'd like to invest in a sure thing I've come across. I'll post an email, you contact me and send me one big-ass bucket of cash. I double-pinky-swear promise to return two buckets overnight.
"franglo said...
From personal experience..."
Why are you hanging around bald racists all the time?
Weird. I mean, you seem to be around all sortsa bad folks, by your prior posts here. It's worrisome.
I'm shocked, shocked by the hatefulness and vitriol coming from these baldingwhiteracisteabagger Limbaugh fans.
Shocked, I tell you.
Democrat is definitely the #1 political affiliation among racists. All the bald racists I've known have been avid Democrats. People who have argued to me that the end of slavery was when everything went wrong.
What conclusions you draw from that, if any, are up to you.
And I'm not joking, franglo.
It's the noose thing that proves it's teh fake.
It's a favorite trope among lefty fakers.
Just imagine for a second how easy this kind of thing is. If someone wanted to make YOU look bad, and was willing to do anything to do it. Now imagine if millions of people had already done it repeatedly over the years. Would anybody know who you are? What are the chances that such public opinion would be accurate or positive. It's amazing that anyone likes the guy, but millions love him. I rarely listen to him, but he clearly has earned his pay.
Crimso, I don't know about that; all I can speak from is my own personal experience.
And from my personal experience, Democrat is definitely the #1 political affiliation among shiftless chronically unemployed pot-smoking dipshits. All the bald shiftless chronically unemployed pot-smoking dipshits I've known have been avid Democrats. People who have argued to me that the day they turned 18 and had to move out of their parents' house was when everything went wrong.
What conclusions you draw from that, if any, are up to you.
"Trace it down."
Anybody know how difficult it would be to do this? It's not like the perp could have used a payphone. Shouldn't somebody be urging local law enforcement to get this person? I'd figure they'd already know who it was by now. Any bets we'll get answers? Or, the accusation having served its purpose, will there be no follow-up?
Pogo, I'd say it's the combination of noose, pickup truck, and Germanic lettering for "achtung". It's a trifecta of stereotypes.
Yea, and I doubt a noose has been used by a real white racist for decades. It's just not fashionable now. But, the left has used it a lot lately to smear like this: the one on the door knob, the census guy who hung himself, etc.
It's so stupid. Must be an academic.
Or, the accusation having served its purpose, will there be no follow-up?
Bingo.
“The faxes include a drawing of a U.S. flag-adorned pickup truck towing a noose that is looped around what appears to be a caricature head of President Barack Obama"
Its a Moby's assumption of what the "typical" conservative would say.
Its fake.
Four Wisconsin Republicans, including the Governor and Lt. Governor, received death threats in the week of "civil speech" following the AZ shooting. Why no press? Oh yeah, because people receiving ACTUAL death threats know enough not to publicize the fact, much less provide the documentation. As Pasta suggests, I think Yee figures he's found the publicity gift that keeps on giving. His April 20, 2010 claim had many of the same elements including the rectum and the pickup. (Links to HuffPo...sorry!)
wv: wilysin. What Yee thinks he's getting away with?
What makes it look suspicious is that if you click through to the Examiner story you find that someone from Yee's office is feeding the newspaper a story that officers from the Pima County sheriff's office, what Rush would call Sheriff Dipstick's office, is investigating a possible connection between the Tucson shooting and the threats to Yee. The "Achtung" in old German letters gives off a whiff of Reichstag.
However, Rush should certainly apologize for mimicking Chinese speech in the way that he did. That is very offensive.
Looking at the overdone stereotypicality of the note, I really wonder who sent the note. Sending a threatening fax? That's stupid? First class mail gives near complete anonymity.
Pastafarian: It's the same "language and graphics" used in another fax (who uses faxes anymore?) the last time this obscure state senator decided to draw attention to himself by punching up (way up) by criticizing nationally recognized figures on the right.
Ah, so this will be like the teacher who vandalized her own car and then played the victim of a hate-crime.
Odds are good that California State Sen. Leland Yee or his office generated the fax. To raise money or campaign awareness. FBI should investigate and prosecute to full extent of law.
I think the punishment for generating false hate-crimes should be as severe as for the hate-crime itself.
Limbaugh the No. 1 show among racists? Really? You have data on that, franglo? Nielsens?
You should listen to Tavis Smiley sometime. He actually repeated the canard that the government blew up the levees in New Orleans during Katrina to rid the city of its black citizenry. Now THAT'S racist!
Yee showed he does not support free speech when he tried to sidetrack Palin's visit to a state university. So screw him, the litle wuss.
On the other hand, I do condemn the faxer- he could have sent an email and been more eco-friendly.
Didn't see any explicit death threat in the fax (unless Leland Yee self-identifies as marxist).
Does that cut for or against the idea that this might not be genuine?
Either way, the author might be carefully seeking to make sure she (or he) was not doing anything that might result in criminal sanction.
DADvocate/
As long as he remembers to cut each individual letter of the alphabet out of People/Us magazine and paste on page of threat-ltr ransom-note style...OLD School all the way!
aronamos-- you don't know what 'racist' means. this is a pretty common problems among activists of the reverse-racisim set.
Believing the government blew up the levees in New Orleans during Katrina to rid the city of its black citizenry may be stupid, paranoid, or wrong-- but it's not racist. I know you are eager to get in on the race card action-- the blacks have held it for too long, I know-- but try to find an example that fits.
Didn't see any explicit death threat in the fax (unless Leland Yee self-identifies as marxist).
Yah and I'm even a bit conflicted about that. If you told me slavers or the KKK were coming for me, I would be sure to get the jump on them. And I do associate Marxists and Socialists with slavers. So what do I do with them?
I'm just curious, if a Marxist takeover of the government began today, how long would it take the people here to recognize it and respond? And would that response be violent, or would we wait for some SCOTUS ruling from a puppet court?
Ah, way to pick the low-hanging fruit, franglo. How about responding to some of the other challanges.
For the record, the round table discussion the Smiley ran for NPR for years was blatantly racist, and prejudice if you must insist on accuracy, far more often than not. I listened to it every night on my way home from work and constantly noticed things that would get a "white" show thrown off the air.
"“The faxes include a drawing of a U.S. flag-adorned pickup truck towing a noose that is looped around what appears to be a caricature head of President Barack Obama"
Its a Moby's assumption of what the "typical" conservative would say."
You mean like the email showing obama as an african witchdoctor? You know the one that's been popular among tea party types?
Almost as if that "assumption" you mention has a real solid underpinning in fact.
Ah, so this will be like the teacher who vandalized her own car and then played the victim of a hate-crime
ha ha, yeah, or like that McCain volunteer who carved a backwards 'B' on her face and claimed she had been attacked by black guys in a 'bad neighborhood.'
Or like every racial-grievance-mongering episode of Rush's show.
Scott M-- what challenges?
Libtard: You mean like the email showing obama as an african witchdoctor? You know the one that's been popular among tea party types?
Provide evidence of that. And not from propaganda rag like HuffPo or The Nation.
Define "popular" in this context. I've been to the three biggest events here in STL and not seen it, nor have any of my friends that have been to the biggest events in their respective areas. I know because this particular spurious claim has come up before. You're barking up the wrong stereotype.
Notice the theme of our new Libtard trolls.
They NEED it to be true.
Because the only club in their bag is racial hate-mongering.
Tavis Smiley spreads a lie that the (white) government intentionally killed hundreds of black people and uprooted thousands more in some kind of ethnic cleansing. That is racism, just as surely as calling someone the N-word, or refusing service at a lunch counter, is racism.
YMMV, franglo. Morever, you hurt your cause by jackassery.
-- Limbaugh is definitely the #1 show among racists. All the bald racists I've known have been avid listeners. People who have argued to me that the end of exclusive white male suffrage was when everything went wrong.
What conclusions you draw from that, if any, are up to you.
The conclusion I draw is that either you have a lot of asshole friends or you like to lie on the internets. Take your pick.
One person tried to give me a KKK poem once. Once. He never did it again. If you are having real conversations with lots of people that randomly talk about white male suffrage (um? To quote our president, WTF?) then you are doing something wrong.
Leeland Yee has also previously reported that he'd received racist death threats over all his anti-video game violence.
I'm glad Yee got off his jihad against video games to do this.
Nothing worse than a busy body politician.
This looks more like a caricature of racism than the work of an actual racist. Most authentic racists will try to disguise their bigotry. Only leftists think that the right exults in hatred of this type. I would be extremely skeptical of the provenance of this piece. It is rather bigoted of leftists to reject the possibility of a moby out of hand.
Oh yea, Leland Yee - San Francisco's man - I know him well. Biiiig supporter of promoting "chinese" medicine (as opposed to whatever the rest of us use - what is that? "White" medicine? "American" medicine? "Western" medicine? Or just the kind that works?)
Anyway, I don't know who's threatening Leland Yee but it wasn't me. Not that the idea hasn't crossed my mind:
I hate racists.
Since this extremely lame fax pulls in pretty much every single Lefty's preconceived notion of white racist red-necked tea partier--including the dreaded "N" word, in case you didn't notice it--I'm calling it a false flag op.
If nothing else, I would expect that the white racist red-necked tea partier would be a bit more creative...
p.s. Rush is a horrible man in that he has made millions of dollars aggravating the grievances of miserable people. There are definitely way worse things a person can do. But I wouldn't call him a paragon of civic service.
Who is a paragon of civil service? Keith Olberbite-mE?
franglo,
You and the Left is fixated on ani.
Why so preverted?
A couple of differences between Yee and Limbaugh: (1) it's not hard at all to imagine that Limbaugh gets death threats on a daily basis himself, and has been getting them on a daily basis for 20+ years (what boggles the mind about it is the sheer number of such threats he must receive and have gotten over the last 20 years). These are real and actual death threats from the unhinged left, ones that he doesn't have to fabricate; and (2) when, if ever, has Limbaugh even mentioned it, let alone exploit these threats to get sympathy or to make his opponents look bad? Something to think about.
p.s. Rush is a horrible man in that he has made millions of dollars aggravating the grievances of miserable people. There are definitely way worse things a person can do. But I wouldn't call him a paragon of civic service.
And that's really your beef isn't it? You don't really care who sent the mobyish death threat.
You don't like what Rush says and you want him banned from the airways. Just admit it. Admitting you have a problem with hearing things you don't agree with, is the first step to recovery.
Rush has a serious anal fixation
TMI dude. What you and Rush do in private is your own business. We're not judging you.
However, Rush should certainly apologize for mimicking Chinese speech in the way that he did. That is very offensive.
I didn't hear the bit you refer to (I don't listen to his show) but I still need to ask- really? Lots of comedians mimic foreign languages as part of their acts*. I'm sure some sensitive folk get offended by it.
People that sensitive need to cloister themselves away with the radio & tv & computer off, never play video games or read books or magazines, never talk to anyone, and leave the rest of us normal people alone.
*One example which is NSFW.
As Pastafarian noted upthread, he received a very similar fax last year. The headline at HuffPo says it all:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/04/20/leland-yee-california-sta_n_544923.html
For those averse to HuffPo (and I don't blame you), this one is blamed (in the headline, mind you) on...you guessed it: Palin. There is supposedly an investigation into it, but my money is on said investigation has been completed, and individual responsible was determined to not be a credible threat (i.e., is in fact a supporter of Yee, and that nugget of info has been embargoed). I mean, how long does it take to figure out where a fax originated? Note the comments on the post at HuffPo have been closed (perhaps that's standard for them after a given period of time, I don't know), but that the last one was in May, and was implying the President of CSU Stanislaus was somehow involved (though not necessarily in the fax situation; I think the commenter was just, you know, asking questions).
On second thought, that's a stupid theory. If they did identify the individual from the first fax, one wouldn't have been sent again.
He's like the sun;
Taken out of context that could sound a little creepy.
Rush is a horrible man in that he has made millions of dollars aggravating the grievances of miserable people.
Your silly, ignorant hysteria, while funny, is rather sad.
Yep, ever instance of racism is perpetrated by lefties trying to make the right look bad. In fact, Rush's Chinese soliloquy itself was a leftist plot; obviously some socialist clown in a fat suit.
There was also a voicemail that you can listen to. In the message, the guy says he never really listens to Rush because he's a "dolt," but he's gonna start listening now. Then he just launches into a bunch of name calling and epithet throwing.
*He* sounds like a dolt. I don't know why it's hard to believe that someone stupid like that would call up and leave a nasty message. Why does it have to be a moby? I can totally believe it. He's an idiot, and those are the things that idiots do.
The fax too.
Just because the ploy is backfiring on the geniuses who thought it up, don't blame conservatives and others for playing the moby card. It's no less valid than the race card in the stupid little games being played.
How is it backfiring?
And why does the guy have to be a "conservative?"
How is it backfiring?
The moby card has trumped the racist card, and the hate-speech card.
Every racist sign or anonymous hate-filled rant can be dismissed as the work of a moby; unless and until you can prove they are not.
And why does the guy have to be a "conservative?"
I wasn't referring to any person in particular. Anyone can play the moby card.
Listening to that voicemail, and I just listened all the way through to the angry end, I think it's the guy himself genuinely hating China.
Why does it have to be a moby ? A leftist, or a Republican?
Why can't it just be?
Listen to that voicemail. Ugh. It's kind of scary.
Why can't it just be?
I agree with you.
But the game is to tag hatred on the right-wing. And a right-winger can play the moby card in defense, in a situation like this.
I didn't make up this game. I'm just calling it as I see it.
Well, I don't think it is a game. I think this man is very very angry. Scarily so. And here's the thing. If it's a game, if it's really a big ole democrat tryin to put one over on the Republicans, well, he's got his voice out there now to the nation. Wouldn't someone be able to come forward and say - someone in his district - oh, I know that guy, it's totally a set up/game?
Just listen to the voicemail. I don't think it's a game, with whatever complicated scenario of the minute. I think this guy is for real.
The moby card has trumped the racist card, and the hate-speech card.
Every racist sign or anonymous hate-filled rant can be dismissed as the work of a moby; unless and until you can prove they are not.
And just to be clear - we have ample evidence to back up a pattern and history of these false-flag attacks from Democrats. Whereas they have ZERO evidence to support their fantasies of conservative violence.
Thats why the burden is on them to prove its not just another Moby.
Regarding "ZERO evidence to support their fantasies of conservative violence"
"Fox News commentator Glenn Beck, who’s honed being provocative – even outrageous at times – to a fine and lucrative art, is the focus of criticism for inciting violence.
Specifically, his dozens of comments attacking the Tides Foundation are being linked to the attempt by a heavily-armed man to assassinate employees at the San Francisco-based foundation, which funds environmental, human rights, and other progressive projects. The attack in July was thwarted in a shoot-out with police in which two officers were wounded..."
