BYU played Wisconsin once about 30 years ago, and on the coach's show afterward the coach complimented Wisconsins fans for the great school spirit they showed. At the end of the game nobody had left. They stayed and had a pep rally.

We were traveling during the game and when I came in the house and turned on the game there were 47 seconds left, Brent Musberger was saying that it had been 31 years since UW had beaten OSU and when the shot of the stadium came back on, there it was, still full and it was clear that the game was over except for running out the clock.

I love it when Michigan or OSU loses. Nobody is supposed to win everything.

Wisconsin is the fourth Big Ten school at which I have worked and/or studied. The school spirit at Wisconsin is much stronger and more genuine than at any of the other places.

Wisconsin is such a happy and friendly place!

"Nobody is supposed to win everything."

So change the rules of the game from "winner takes all" to "winner pays all".

Womp womp wawwwwwwwwww....

Nothing like a few free drinks to make a loser feel better and a winner feel broke.

And thank you for it. Now my Ducks are #1.

If The Blonde's second favorite nephew had been in that crowd, he'd have hugged every one of those girls. Most of whom he would have already known.

Nice report. So Ohio State is now only an "erstwhile" football power. Love the word erstwhile, and promise to use it soon.

Reminds me of my days at Tennessee when we had a football team. We had a riot once the night before we played Alabama. (Huge rivalry back then.)

Congrats to the Badgers! They owned OSU from the start.

Unfortunately, this means, that my team and Ann's alma mater, the Michigan Wolverines will suffer another whupping when they play the Badgers in the next few weeks.

On our wedding day, Bucky beat OSU, 6-0, in Columbus (and have pics of a few of the guys sneaking a listen on the radio). It's always good news.

AST, that post game pep rally is proudly refered to as "The Fifth Quarter". In recent history, it's usually a celebration. It started out though as a reason to have some fun after the usual drubbing. Thank you, Mike Leckrone.

Congratulations! A big win.

I wish I could say the people of Alabama thank you, but after Auburn's bid to join the WAC, and UK beating SC, and most important, our weak win over Ole Miss (homecoming!), we are beginning to realize that we probably will not repeat.

Are we sure that they'ed say they were congratulating folks for the "delightful" victory? Using 'delightful' in this context seems 'dorky' or 'square.' OTOH, this is the home of doing the Bucky, so...

AST,

Wisconsin beat OSU in 2001, 2003 and 2004, and has had regular season records equal to or better than Michigan's in every year since 2004. I think you heard Musberger say the Badgers hadn't beaten a #1 ranked team since 1981.

It's not like Wisconsin vs. OSU/UM is the Little Sisters of the Poor vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Badgers have beaten OSU 5 times I think in the last 10-15 years. Although there have been streaks like that in the past. Wisconsin football has been consistently good for about 20 years now.

I don't get it.

But I hope they had fun . . . I guess.

WV: Blesses: Bless their little football absorbed hearts.

I eat my words..I thought the Badgers would fold like a cheap lawn chair. But, in the continually overrated Big 10, even mediocre teams can beat titular #1's

"On, Wisconsin!" was the cry that Arthur MacArthur, Jr. used in the Battle of Chattanooga at Missionary Ridge, in the Civil War.

IT'S ALSO A TEAM FIGHT SONG

On Wisconsin, On Wisconsin, plunge right through that line.
Run the ball clear down the field, touchdown sure this time.
On Wisconsin, On Wisconsin, fight on for her fame.
Fight, fellows, fight, fight, fight, we'll win this game.

On Wisconsin, On Wisconsin, stand up Badgers sing.
"Forward" is our driving spirit, loyal voices ring.
On Wisconsin, On Wisconsin, raise her glowing flame.
Stand, fellows, let us now salute her name.

At Camp Randall Stadium, they also sing;

Var-sity! Var-sity!
U-rah-rah! Wisconsin!
Praise to thee we sing
Praise to thee our Alma Mater
U-rah-rah, Wisconsin!
