There but for the grace of Meade...
What about his dates with Andre at Olive Garden?
OK that website just sucked the brains out of me. "The Frisky" makes People magazine read like Scientific American.
Good one, Shanna.
Tim Gunn didn't say he was celibate, just that he wasn't trying to be in a relationship.
Well, you found a website worse than the GOP website.
It depends on what the meaning of "date" is. (But some of these characters proclaim celibacy. When I was in college, 1969-1973, everyone said that no one goes on "dates" anymore. It didn't mean no one had sex.
Tim's statement is pretty ambiguous. If one hasn't been on a date in 26 years it could be because one has been married for 25years. But the interesting part of his statement is that he likes being single. It's practically heresy.
I haven’t been on a date in 26 years. I’m not even remotely looking.Obviously a dog owner.
What the heck are people doing if they're "too busy" to date? That's always sounded like a cop-out to me."Dating is frustrating and a lot of work, so I just won't date. But I'll tell people it's because I'm too busy - that way I sound like an important person instead of a loser."
The sex industry may have a good customer there, or he is a bitter old man. Either way, that is a waste of a perfectly good human.
A human is "a waste" if they're not in a relationship? Bollcks.
As my mother-in-law would say, "Mr. Gunn just hasn't met the right girl yet."
Quite the opposite, ever make arrangements to go out with a woman and then have her say, "this isn't a date, right?"And I'm not talking about renoucing traditional courtship conventions in some libertine fashion and having sex, like Althouse recalls, but implicitly announcing from the get-go that there's absolutely zero chance of her having any kind of romantic interest in you.Sob :-(wv-"shypr" = ineffective flack
Hey, would you like to come up to my place and try out my new Vinturi wine aerator? It really works!
Quite the opposite, ever make arrangements to go out with a woman and then have her say, "this isn't a date, right?"Only NiceGuys (TM) have this problem, caused by sending mixed signals. If you want a girl to be your friend, treat her like a friend. If you want to have a relationship with a woman, treat her like someone you're interested in romantically from the start. If she rejects you, move on. Don't just hang around hoping she'll change her mind.
If the woman says "This isn't a date, right?" any self-respecting man turns on a dime and exits the property.
I felt the same way and now I am married to a British/Indian with really big arms.I haven't even cheated on him and it has been since June and I don't have any interest in anyone else.He is uncut.I am havin Matzo Ball soup for dindin and it is delish. Yummy Matzo Ball.
Only NiceGuys (TM) have this problem, caused by sending mixed signals.This. Better to make things clear up front, even if you have to use the word "date".
Tim Gunn is awesome. I love that man style.wv = outful = you don't say.
Who's his best friend? Rosy Palmer?
It's a mighty fine option to CHOOSE to enjoy your life. And when you get really, really good at that, you can drop silly euphemisms like, "such as it is", or "for however long", and yes, even, "because I have John or Jane" in my life.
Dating is a waste of time and energy. There are a lot more interesting and rewarding and valuable ways to spend life energy.Happy bluestocking.
"What the heck are people doing if they're "too busy" to date?" Oh, try working 60 to 70 hours a week, managing your own household, trying to stay in reasonable shape, and then driving 3 hours on Sundays to visit your Dad who is in assisted living, running errands for him, and managing his finances. This doesn't make me an important person, just one who doesn't have the time or energy for a relationship. And if some people see me as a loser, that's their problem. My life is very full and I'm perfectly happy without a woman in my life at this point.
I have never ask a non-friend out on date, but I have had many fantastic ones anyway. I have had many wonderful relationships as well, all of them in fact. I just do things and have fun with women, I don't know how to date.Living single is not for everyone, but I absolutely love being single. I also love it when I'm not. They are both wonderful with their own benefits and sacrifices. Am I the only one without a preference. The way I see it, you live among people and if someone is irresistible and you can't live without them, then don't. Many people have a preference to marriage and then find someone to fill the position. I'm not that organized.
I was just thinking about this and I realized that even if Timm Gunn was looking, Titus is now unavailable. What a shame.
This doesn't make me an important person, just one who doesn't have the time or energy for a relationship. And if some people see me as a loser, that's their problem. My life is very full and I'm perfectly happy without a woman in my life at this point. The point I was making is most of the people who say they're too busy to date aren't, in fact, very busy at all. Or they're busy with hobbies as a way to avoid unpleasantness like dating.Of course some people really are busy. But just out of curiosity, why do you work so much?
