The German Shepard we had when I was a kid was like this! Once, when she came running on top of the slightly ice-covered snow to see me, she stood looking at me when -- foop! -- she fell straight through the snow like Wile E. Coyote falling off a cliff...good memories...

That video reminds me of the time we took my in-laws’ dog up to their winter retreat in the mountains.

I opened the side door to the minivan and he jumped out into the snow.

He was a black lab mix but the snow was a foot over his head and he panicked thinking he was about to die.

I jumped in and caught him and carried him about 200 feet to the front porch as he went berserk.

Not a pleasant experience at all, maybe because there was no kitschy soundtrack.

There was only that kind of total silence you hear when surrounded by deep snow punctuated by the cries of a terrified animal.

Sorry to be Captain Bringdown on this one . . . but you know how it is.

I loved that video. Nobody can have fun like a child or a dog.
Very funny. Thanks for sharing.

Anyone ever fallen over in snow so deep you can't reach anything solid to push yourself upright again?

My mom had to roll herself over to a fence post once, to pull herself up again.

Yikes!

Thanks for the laugh. We need more laughs. I hope I can restrain myself from buying a dog today.

I'm not sure how much snow we got yesterday, but I just took a walk out to the shop where I plugged in the engine heater for the tractor. Then, I walked down the driveway to the mail box and back. It is very cold out, and windy. The thermometer says -14ยบ. Sitting on the tractor won't be much fun. It's all fun and games when you're a dog. I guess.
