A tavern? At last a venue that serves alcohol! Make mine a Bombardier, barkeep!

I need a Newcastle Brown with a shot of Jamesons on the side. Order some jalepeno poppers and some onion rings. Put the WORLD CHAMPION NEW YORK GIANTS on the TV as they are going to kick the Browns ass tonight.

Did I tell you lately that the Giants won the Super Bowl?

Trooper York said...

If Mort were awake he would say that kicking the Bowns ass is racist.

Well, where is Mort? I haven't seen him here in a long time.

Quand il est mort le poète,
Quand il est mort le poète,
Tous ses amis,
Tous ses amis,
Tous ses amis pleuraient.

Quand il est mort le po

Quand il est mort le poète,
Le monde entier,
Le monde entier,
Le monde entier pleurait.

On enterra son étoile,
On enterra son étoile,
Dans un grand champ,
Dans un grand champ,
Dans un grand champ de blé.

Et c'est pour ça que l'on trouve,
Et c'est pour ça que l'on trouve,
Dans ce grand champ,
Dans ce grand champ,
Dans ce grand champ de bleuets.

Is that like a French 69.

I remember having one of those during the war.

Well alrighty now. The bar seems to be open for business on this fine football evening in America.

Barkeep, I'll have an 'arf and 'arf. Wha...? Okay, it's a half pint of Guiness with a half pint of Newcastle poured on top. Think of it as Porter Light.

And a basket of peanuts in the shell, please.

So I heard that at a concert last week, Dolly Parton asked the audience "If you see me walk onto the stage with Barack Obama and Joe Biden what would that be?"

And she answers: "Why, that'd be a country and western star with two of the biggest boobs in America!"

I love Dolly Parton. Been to Dollywood twice times. Couldn't find a New Jork Ginats tee shirt there, though.

Great night tonight!

Let's all tighten up!

Money goes into the jukebox......

What to play? Ha! Here's a classic that goes out to Titus, here on the Crumpled Rose Tavern Internet Radio Hour.

With linky. Let's all tighten up!

So what the hell is the deal with Tony Romo? He dented a pinky finger and maybe won't start next week, is that it?

Wuss. Brett Favre (praise be unto him) started every damn game. Games when he had a broken thumb. Games when he had vicodin shakes. Games when he had a sprained ankle. Games when he had cracked ribs. A game the day after his Dad died.

And Romo has a freakin' hangnail??

Tony, man up. This one goes out to you, ya big pansy.

What the hell? Have I wandered into some kinda twelve step program here in the Crumpled Rose?

Is everyone sippin' green tea and telling their personal stories and pledging to be a better man/woman/alien/lesbian/whatever beginning right now?

Certainly not. Quit?! I think we're all going to need to be drinking a lot more heavily over the next four years, it would seem.

Heh. "The Crumpled Rose" actually sounds like a British pub. Do they serve Nun's Oath Ale?

Assumpsit said...

Oy! All these cafes and coffeehouses...and now a tavern?!

I gotta go pee!

Flickr, or some competitor, should provide a 'subliminal embed' function so we can write secret "sex" and "fuck" messages all over our pictures.

Party on, everyone. For tomorrow begins a new era for the world. At least, that's what this dude says.

Porter Ranch is a beautiful area. The Porter Ranch homes are Shappell homes. The newer Porter Ranch homes are all gated communities. But even the older ones are built right on country club greens.

That said, they are right up against the Santa Susanna Mountains and Las Padres National Forest. Hello? Those home are all in the paths of wildfires.

All Republicans, but it doesn't matter. You don't put a country club, and exclusive housing in the rugged foothills and rustic canyons and then expect Mother Nature to bypass you, because you are upper middle-class with a hint of style.

Central Orange County, and Palos Verdes are the same social strata, same Republicans, but without the fire danger.

Who cares about the upper-middle class and their problems anyway, right?

But, Maxine.....are the Porter Ranch homes all-electric 'medallion' homes, with all-electric appliances, including double-wall ovens and modern electric ranges ???

We all know the prestige if a double-wall oven !

Does the Porter Ranch crowd use only Mark Cross gold pens ?

Speaking of Mort, I don't see why dead people can't vote, through perpetual website wills or something. ACORN should look into it.
