I don't know about your keybord or your word program, but if I type with the "Caps Lock" key on, I still have to use the "Shift" key to get those symbols. This is the same as the usual keyboard for pre-computer typewriters (remember them?).
The same with the archy & mehitabel school of no caps. Even they have to hit the shift key to type some symbols.
So all caps/no caps control freaks of an age, & that's what they are, who say F**k you, I'm still important & you're not, you know, the "I won't lower myself to actually learn to type like a normal human; it's infra dig" types, have to use the Shift key once in a while.
Which means that they are to be ignored except that if you're that needy for their companionship, you can still take note of their messages like "ILL C U AT LNCH WSEDNSDY".
