Prisoner 51427-054.

Moussaoui goes to the Supermax federal prison in Colorado, where "the soundproofed cells were designed so inmates cannot make eye contact with each other." Among the nearly 400 prisonmates he can't see are Ramzi Yousef, Eric Rudolph, Ted Kaczynski, Terry Nichols, and Richard Reid.

It's difficult to imagine what sorts of conversations would happen among that crew if they ever did make contact with each other.

I blogged about this at my blog- http://thefloridamasochist.blogspot.com/2006/05/zacarias-moussaoui-superman.html

Thanks Ann for the tip.

How are sound proofed walls supposed to stop eye contact? The Times is taking up standup comedy now.

Would it have stopped the Rosenbergs?

I can't help wondering if we'd have had these in the 1950s, there'd have been no reason to execute Ethel and Julius.

They still cost the taxpayers money. Execution is cheaper, I guess.

Peace, Maxine

Anyone get a Con Air II tingling?

Florida Masochist, the article explains that the cell windows are placed so that prisoners can't see other cells.

Nels,

True but the paragraph in question just says soundproofed so you get the wrong impression that's why they can't make eye contact.

"It is the will of Allah, Blessed be his Name"!

The Mouss' can spend the rest of his days on earth figuring that one out. Funny how it is the will Allah when catastrophe strikes the west but when an earthquake, etc., hits a Muslim country all we hear from the moolahs is crickets.

Probably a less chatty group than his old band of prison-mates, which included Judith Miller at one point in time.

Then again, Kaczynski might prove a talkative one.
