It's quite long, so I'm giving you a free-access link. I'll quote a few highlights:

The topic is the rise of left-wing violence in the Trump era, but WaPo interrupts itself to remind readers that there's even more right-wing violence and it's worse.
As conservatives and far-right groups began protesting local drag shows and abortion rights rallies, these leftists began showing up to form a protective perimeter, often dressed in black clothing and body armor and carrying guns. More recently, they turned their attention to immigration enforcement: One person charged in the Prairieland case was arrested with fliers in his backpack reading, “FIGHT ICE TERROR WITH CLASS WAR” and “FREE ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS,” according to federal charging documents....

Alvarado is a little town on the western leg of I-35, the leg that reaches up into Ft. Worth (the other leg goes through Dallas). It's a frustrating 2-lane stretch of prairies highway, most always crowded, with a nice little speed trap business going, and a few mega RV dealerships, and a Waffle House. The facility that was raided by the crazies is just down from the Waffle House, about a mile from I-35.

Well, that's just stupid.
I'm not in favor of the capitalization of "Black" either, as a means of emphasizing that "Blackness" is not just a racial identity but is instead also a cultural marker dependent on a shared ancestral experience and shared customs arising from that experience - I'm not in favor of all that because the divisiveness that results has not been beneficial to black Americans (to understate the case). But at least you can make that argument. Most black Americans are in fact the descendants of people brought to the US as slaves (at least, I think this is still true - I don't think immigration from Africa has swamped those numbers), and the Jim Crow era in South and North did in fact significantly enforce a race-based segregation that led to shared customs that the white people often didn't have.
White people? What is so shared between a Swede and an Italian? Between a Brit and a Russian? They're trying to make the feminist argument that "white" has been like "male" - the default human - and That's Not Fair. So instead, they're doing the Kendi thing of countering past discrimination with present discrimination, and defining "White" as a racial identity in contrast to "Black," the new default human. (I guess you could say that by species origin, the default human probably is, or was, black, but it's certainly not the case now that people of African origin are in such a large majority that they constitute a default. And we all know that Indians of the same dark complexion as Africans are not considered capital-B Black.)

True much was said, and repeated, about their self-identification as transgender women, but not about how that affected their motivations. Left out was the 'intersectionality' factor, which dovetails with class warfare. My take is that these naive leftists were being used as cannon fodder, perhaps even as martyrs for The Cause.

Temporarily ensconced as I am at present in one of the bluest of blue US cities, I see the wonderful and tolerant "In this house" signs all over the place on my daily walks. Recall that one line of those signs is "We believe in science."
Meanwhile, the liberal friends with whom we're staying have a coffee mug that says, "Science doesn't give a f*** what you believe."
So far, I've resisted the impulse to joke about how that mug must be in reference to the yard signs. We leave tomorrow, so, God willing, I'll continue to resist. But last night my husband stayed up drinking wine until 3 with the husband, his best friend, and from the conversation I could overhear, he was getting into it a bit.
I just read a post over on Turley about how almost 90% of college students misstate or overstate their commitment to progressivism in their classes in order to stay on their profs' good side - obviously this includes liberal students. This practice is termed "adaptive." Having already lost a brother, sister-in-law, niece, and cousin to the Trump election (the first two apparently made a pact with their friends to cut out every possible Trump supporter from their lives, so their little daughter, the niece, is collateral damage, now unable to interact with her grandparents on her mom's side and with us), my husband was definitely bucking that practice in explicitly bringing up politics with a dear friend who doesn't agree with us. I almost got out of bed and went out to give him the high raised eyebrows before things turned heated. Fortunately they ran out of wine and went to bed..

Yes I recall several comments from Achilles over the years about how HE believes that all liberals or people on the left tried to kill Trump twice. He paints liberals as bad, amoral not fit to be Americans and should be either killed or imprisoned.
I don’t own a gun and am a 73 year old grandma of 5, my friends and family consider me a good decent human being and seem to love or like me, so when I read descriptions of what a liberal is according to Achilles or other extremists I wonder do they actually know any liberals personally.
