Reminds me of young Donald Trump:
January 16, 2025
"I hate politics... I love policy and impact. I hate politics. And unfortunately, the two are not separable... [It's a] very dark, negative business.... There is a darkness to that world that I don’t really want to welcome into mine"
Said Ivanka Trump, quoted in "Ivanka Trump has blunt 3-word response when asked why she won’t return to White House" (NY Post).

My almost exact thoughts about church ministry. I love the thought and impact. I hate church politics. It made for an awkward season as I finished seminary in my 20s and realized how much I didn't like the politics side of church, which is what a lot of people really cared about. There's a lot of people in regular politics who don't at all care about policy and impact, they just like the game and power of the politics and admin. The sad thing is that because these people care about that sad the most, they become especially good at that side, and exert a lot of power and control over everything.
Avoid all language, is my advice. Theodore Roethke gave that advice to a young student poet.
Since I didn’t read your title closely enough, I thought the three words would be “no f*ing way”.
IOW, Ivanka wanted to "reach across the aisle" and work with the Democrats to do things Trump's voters didn't want. And then she found out the D's weren't interested in cooperating with Trump, they only wanted to score points and destroy him.
She and Jared showed up at McCain's funeral showing how they wanted to work with the uniparty and fit into the DC elite. And they got shown that wasn't possible. Not with the Democrats.
BTW, governing is politics. People who want to reach accross the aisle to get things done are always Republicans. Because the D's aren't interested in "Getting things done" unless its part of their agenda. They actually have a coherent set of policy positions and beliefs they want to implement. Too many Republicans, OTOH, just want to do certain things: cut taxes, provide Amnesty for illegal aliens, support war in Ukraine, support climate change spending, etc. Its just a mishmash of stuff.
Mitt Romney was a perfect example. What was he trying to do as Senator other than hurt Trump? He was all over the place.

That's true in the corporate world too. I have run into a number of people who want the carpeted office and leather chair and a job with no productivity metrics or other well defined accountability, and really don't give a shit about moving the pallets out the door. They are often smart enough to make a difference if they cared to, but use their talents for devious office politics and empire building.
I'm truly amazed at how much brainwashing the public (via DNC operatives posing as journalists) was successful with all this Trump material right out there in the open. I was watching another former "progressive" on Theo Vaughan's podcast this morning explain how the "fine people" hoax had been his gateway, and then his wife's as well. Until he watched the video for himself he could not believe that everybody in the media was lying to him.
But, once his eyes were opened, he sought out other examples. He realized "bloodbath" was indeed a common economic term Trump used to describe the auto industry. The final straw was desperate Obama campaigning late into this last election season, and continuing to lie about the "fine people" quote.
After the way rabid Progressives attacked her and her family, I don't blame her. Who wants the crazies on the left threatening your kids??
I wish we could have the younger Trump as President.
Interesting that Trump said people would vote for a candidate if they felt sorry for him. Joe Biden sought out the pity vote throughout his career. I hope people now realize that it's a terrible reason to vote for someone.
Ivanka is too good for politics...
Not everyone has the stomach for working in a sausage factory.
The left violated her space and treated her like crap.
But then - that is what many (not all) leftists do.
The dems in power and their media inspire it.
Is it possible that they, i.e., Jared and, with him, Ivanka, were eliminated for a reason, while being allowed to claim that it had been their choice? Jared pulled a "Hunter" on such a gross scale that they became a distraction and an effective target. (pls. note -- that he pushed them aside, I think, is very complimentary for Trump).
1980 not a good year for neck ties.
Trump 1980 thought tv ruining politics. Biden 2025 thinks social media ruining politics. Trump1980 did not think wealth translated into power but he could not have imagined the wealth in 2025.
What did Ivanka get for her efforts? Subpoenas.
Chuck Grassley is third in the line of succession to the Presidency. Let that sink in.
Good for her. There are better endeavors in life than politics. I'm wary of people that want to be politicians.
Young Trump is very flirty!
Chuck Grassley is third in the line of succession to the Presidency. Let that sink in.
And again, he's still better than the drooling twit he's replacing.
The ugliness of politics is on full display right now in the confirmation hearings. The democrats are making no attempt at good faith probing (I imagine there are exceptions). It's just flat out obstruction because the people on the other side are not democrats. It's dismaying.
@Mike (MJB Wolf): "I'm truly amazed at how much brainwashing the .. DNC operatives... was successful with all this Trump material right out there in the open..."
People don't have time for factchecking. They watch the news maybe mostly in the background, cooking dinner or in the waiting room. It's not as if they believe what they hear, they just don't naturally disbelieve it - because they don't have time for it. It seeps in and occupies space, like stuff getting parked a closet. You have to want to clean out the closet, and most people just put it off. Then something eventually triggers the skepticism enough to where they decide to find out - and then they start getting offended enough to start changing. I like to think a lot of people in California are 'finding out' right now, and it's not just the fire victims.
It speaks volumes that you are not more concerned about the first two.
Oh no - something MORE for you leftists to whine about.
Things LLR-democratical Rich never commented upon: dementia-addled biden is in the Presidency.
Discuss.
Ivanka is only half right; she - - any sane, ethical person - - should hate "policy" too.
I guess she couldn't say the real reason. "My husband took 2 billion dollars from the Saudi's for doing absolutely nothing except letting them cozy up to my father and i would have (rightly so) a target on my back for being married to (next to Pete Hegseth) the sleeziest man in Washington."
she need to get control of her beneath contempt husband and his bad ways. If he's not careful he will end up in prison like his dad. And. as a convicted felon, he too could become an ambassador, just like daddy
You seem to spend an inordinate amount of time shitting on other people's marriages. Why is that?
Having a piece of trash husband might disqualify her... but in today's Republican environment it might be a plus. Look at the trash that her dad nominated.
About as much as he wanted to and wants to cooperate. Not at all.
Better than voting for someone who promises you everything and before he even gets into office backpedals on all of his promises. that would be DJT
Seriously?
you are absolutely right. Worse than Hunter, and that's pretty bad.
Look inward, Jim at. Not true on my part but.....
Third in the line of succession after the vice president and the speaker of the House. Maybe they made it that way because they realized that the president pro tempore of the Senate would usually be someone very old. I'd trust Grassley more than Biden or Harris or Blinken or Yellen or Austin or Garland. Fortunately, though, Mike Johnson comes before Grassley in the line of succession.
Thanks for the link. Priceless.
I enjoy the doltish nature of people asserting that this and that exist or existed, and, having no regard for the truth, put forth their OPINION without evidence ... can we name a few?
Victoria is full of bile today!
"My husband took 2 billion dollars from the Saudi's"
Fact check: false.
I'll give you a chance to redeem some credibility. Are you willing to acknowledge why this "quote" is dishonest?
Does Ivanka use exactly the same words as Donald does in his interview? That would have to be intentional, wouldn't it? Or, did The Post misattribute Donald's words to Ivanka?
Icky Vicki, the little old lady from Pasadena, was arrested for looting in the wake of the Eaton Fire, and she’s taking it out on Ivanka and Iared Kushner, who are Orthodox Jews, because she is a hardcore antisemite.
Yeah, Vicki. The Dems would never nominate anyone with a "piece of trash" husband.
You complete, bitter fraud.
Ivanka isn't wrong about the vileness of politics.
Drive by one on a hot summers day.
My but you're a bitter mean spirited person. How many fires did set?
