Hey, guess what?

Amazon ... owned by Jeff Bezos ... has announced they're going to start doing News. And you'll never guess who their anchor is going to be.

No, it's not Dan Rather. He was ousted as anchor of CBSNews after he typed up some fake memos to try to rig the 1996 election and prevent George W. Bush from becoming President.

No, it's the most trusted name in news, Brian Williams.

Wait ... wasn't he ousted from NBCNews for running fake reports his ENTIRE career?

Yes, yes he was.

Did I forget to tell you that Jeff Bezos also owns the Washington Post?

Who will also tell you who won the election. Since you can't check that.

When I see comments about Harris’s voice (or Hillary’s) I’m reminded of how much I like Tulsi Gabbard’s voice.

This is a clip of Kamala describing the difficulty rural voters may have in voting. They might have to send a Xerox or photocopy. What if there isn’t a Kinkos in their vicinity.
1. Who calls photocopies Xerox anymore?
2. There are no Kinkos stores anymore.
3. Don’t people in rural areas have smart phones to take a photo of their IDs?
She is very out of touch.

The Four Lakes of Madison

Four limpid lakes,--four Naiades
Or sylvan deities are these,
In flowing robes of azure dressed;
Four lovely handmaids, that uphold
Their shining mirrors, rimmed with gold,
To the fair city in the West.

By day the coursers of the sun
Drink of these waters as they run
Their swift diurnal round on high;
By night the constellations glow
Far down the hollow deeps below,
And glimmer in another sky.

Fair lakes, serene and full of light,
Fair town, arrayed in robes of white,
How visionary ye appear!
All like a floating landscape seems
In cloud-land or the land of dreams,
Bathed in a golden atmosphere!

I managed to get the day off today. I conducted an exhaustive and detailed survey of Southeast Wisconsin. Particularly Kenosha and Racine counties. My data reveals that Trump signs outnumber Harris signs seven to one.

1. Melania is still in the top ten best selling books on Amazon. The AI description of the book adds this note: “However, some customers have reported that the book arrived with strange greasy looking smudges on the outside cover.” So this must be happening in significant numbers for AI to make mention of it. 717 reviews overwhelmingly positive.
2. The #1 book is War by Bob Woodward. The Message by Ta-Nehisi Coats is at #12 with 533 reviews, also overwhelmingly positive.
3. (This I find most surprising.) The Achievements of Kamala Harris (pages are blank) has been in the top 100 now for several weeks. Currently it’s at #38 with 265 reviews - all overwhelmingly positive. Kamala’s own autobiography, The Truths We Hold (2019), is at 9,288.

I saw an ad for (or against, I don't remember) a proposition on the ballot in California. It mentioned that there are 15 million people on Medi-Cal, which is described thusly:

"Medi-Cal is California’s Medicaid healthcare program that provides comprehensive health coverage for people with low or no income."

California's population is 39 million. That means that nearly 40% of California's population consists of people with low/no income. And California is the direction Democrats want to take the country.

Just watched Trump at the Al Smith Dinner. Kamala really couldn't handle that event?

gadfly said...

Longtime news anchor and MSNBC host Brian Williams left NBC network after 28 years, signing off on the final episode of his popular nightly political talk program The 11th Hour on December 10, 2021. He will host Election Night coverage on Prime Video this year. Nothing to write home about since his broadcasting voice is good and there will be no emotional outbreaks one way or another. Jeff Bezos does not involve himself in hiring or programming to influence politics like Trump's BFF, Elon Musk.

rhhardin said...

The Al Smith dinner was good time 1:06 to 2:09 for the speeches. Trump avoided praise for the opponent as did Kamala (in a video); Trump doing ad-libbing that went over well. Praise of Kamala would have been dishonest and he didn't offer any. As for self-deprecation, "I don't feel like it." His whole act is self-deprecation, the rambling, the informality.

Republicans will do anything to make it appear that Trump will win the election. The largest US betting marketplace, Polymarket was started by Peter Thiele who sunk $60 million in the cryptocurrency betting place. The theory about these betting places to put your money where your mouth is by acquiring shares of for the candidate of your choice.

A single crypto wallet is trading tens of millions of dollars on Polymarket, a crypto-friendly prediction market. The trader, known by its social handle Fredi9999, has transacted over $73 million worth of mostly pro-Donald Trump bets and sales currently has $12 million on the line for Trump winning the election on November 5.

This heavy investment has cranked odds to Trump by as much as 13 points. So for those who find polls to be weak, our big shooter is trying to convince betters that Trump is the favored horse but odds pay only on an electoral win - with no stats to back the big odds. So Fredi9999 is spending someone elses crypto.

This idiocy is much like buying DJT stock at $29/share when in fact the Truth Social stock is worthless.

I watched the Bulwark review of Kamala’s appearance on FOX, mentioned above. The review was very complementary to Kamala. The comments were mostly supportive of Kamala. Then, prompted by a post at Instapundit, I watched Kamala’s interview on Charlemagne tha God’s radio show. That interview was a very friendly interview but the comments (34,000) are approximately 90% negative. I didn’t scroll through all of them, but I scrolled through a lot of them. I find this very hard to believe. Every once in a while someone comments that the bots are at work and I’m wondering if maybe that’s true. It’s just difficult for me to believe that Charlemagne’s audience would be so negative toward Kamala.

Harris’s Fox Disaster

T-ball Oprah interviews with Harris don’t work and now the nation knows that real honest interviews prove even worse for her.

Kamala Harris by intent showed up late for the interview.
She quit early. She filibustered all that was asked, lost her temper, and serially interrupted Bret Baier— all in lieu of answering a single question. She grimaced, scowled, and proved as petulant and unlikeable as she was vacuous. We were asked to believe absurdly that the currently disastrous Biden-Harris border, crime wave, and economy were all the out-of-office Trump’s fault.

In contrast, J. D. Vance in his debate rendered the smears empty and showed the nation he was a nice guy with a razor-sharp mind. Harris in just 20 some minutes dispelled stereotypes too—she is not a pleasant but empty apparatchik, but rather an off-putting, disagreeable scowl.

If this eleventh-hour catch-up media blitz was supposed to show us the real under-appreciated Harris to win over the nation and stop her campaign’s hemorrhaging, it has only achieved the opposite. She’s in a doom loop: she cannot forever hide from the media and yet will lose the election if she is interviewed without a teleprompter.

She will probably fire the guy who dreamed up the Fox interview disaster - even if it was her idea.

There was that one in the 90s what came very close to the earth. On a dark sky it looked like the cartoon drawings of comets with the defined head and splayed tail. Black Hawk Helo Wreaks Havoc On Civilian Hurricane Outpost, Raising Questions October 7, 2024

"Believe your eyes people! Believe what you see is happening!"
The pilots of what appears to be an unmarked Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter generated a massive downwash, also known as rotor wash, that sent tents and aid flying in all directions at a volunteer supply zone operated by private citizens in western North Carolina. This action by the helicopter pilots is up for debate, with many on X believing this was an intentional act of sabotage by the federal government.
There are no official statements by local, state, or federal governments about the incident. Flight tracking data shows that the Black Hawk is military-owned. "This is a United States Military Blackhawk. Squawk 6453, call sign: FURY147

[Side note: I've been tracking aircraft activity near Asheville since the storm moved on, and saw the paucity of civilian aircraft for the first few days afterward (due in part to FAA flight restrictions because Biden flew over to scope out to the damage, but continued a few days beyond that), and two military aircraft were seen patrolling the region, one a Sikorsky UH-60A Blackhawk, and the other a Boeing CH-47F Chinook. Both of those were flying with US Army identification. Beyond that, civilian helicopters included several privately owned aircraft - even one with Canadian registry - and Samaritan's Purse.]

Back to the article:

"Here we are. The tendency is to give early reports the 'benefit of the doubt', to wait on 'developments'. [Pause; simmering, simmering.] But consider the actors. Consider this regime's openly hostile tactics. Consider the current state of chaos and anxiety of B-H-W campaign and its paymasters. Consider the natural botchitude of your government agencies. Consider the stream of complaints from the field by private citizens, local officials and responders reporting government inaction, ineffectiveness, interference, obstruction, restrictive compliance followed by ham-fisted threats of arrest -- the list goes on.

Corporate media is lying (viz. supra). The government is lying. The regime is lying. Believe the worst. You won't be far off.
