"What can be, unburdened by what has been" - Kamala

that's a line from Marx, maybe via Kamala's father? Perhaps not word salad!

In bourgeois society, therefore, the past dominates the present; in Communist society, the present dominates the past. In bourgeois society capital is independent and has individuality, while the living person is dependent and has no individuality.

The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels

Marxist ideology (such as "Existence determines Consciousness)" explains that everyone is formed and trapped by ideology except when they aren't, like Marxists (who have Science on their side).

It's an easy and convenient rhetorical posture, and flourishes nowadays in all areas of public discourse.

The pendulum has swung to "an abundance of caution". Watch out, when "throwing caution to the wind" comes back around.

rhhardin said...

The interesting thing is that it's not word salad. It's something she learned from Marxism. I speculate by way of her father since she doesn't seem like a scholar. She'd explain it outright if she were instead of using the slogan.

YouTube: "A horse in the rain: how to pass through suffering"

This video is one of his best. (IMHO)

Hint: "Much of my work is devoted to reducing unnecessary suffering. However, not all suffering is unnecessary. So what is the appropriate response to the necessary and unavoidable suffering that we must all experience at some points in our lives? The answer comes through observing a horse in the rain – who does nothing to make his situation any worse than it already is."

From a redditor: "That's wild" is the most over-used phrase of the 21st century

It's difficult to get through a podcast episode without either the host or the guest saying that banal, cliched phrase.

It's also totally lost its allure and appeal. Saying "that's wild" to describe a genuinely jawdropping piece of music, athletic feat or acting skill. Yes, that fits
But no. It's not "wild" if you ordered a flat white instead of a cappuccino at a coffee shop, or if Starbucks have run out of sandwiches. Just two examples I've personally come across the last few weeks”

In a speech on Tuesday in Savannah, Trump said world leaders are “laughing at us.”

“We have to be respected. They laugh at us. All over the world, they’re laughing at us,” Trump said.

“And you know what they’re really laughing at? Kamala,” Trump continued, “because they can’t believe that she’s going to be president. They can’t believe.”

So Trump believes that "she's going to be president" so give it up, guys - roll over and play dead.

When the lying corrupt Progressives say Trump killed a bipartisan border bill , THIS is what they are talking about. So much for securing the border. They are lying to us over and over and over again and only idiots believe them.

Congressman Byron Donalds
@RepDonaldsPress
Why the Senate Border Deal FAILED:

2–Let in 1.8M Illegals
3–Fund Sanctuary Cities
4–Fund NGOs Moving Illegals
5–Lawyers to Illegals
6–Work Permits to Illegals
7–Nothing to Deport Illegals
8–No Immediate Wall Funds
9–Weak Asylum Screening

Trump gets it. The man actually gets it. This is what a true conservative sounds like.

TRUMP: "It takes centuries to build the unique character of each state. But reckless migration policy can change it quickly and permanently. Just like we’ve seen in London, and Paris, and Minneapolis."

"If Kamala Harris wins this election, she will flood Pennsylvania cities and towns with illegal migrants from all over the world—and Pennsylvania will not be Pennsylvania any longer."

"When I’m president, all migrant flights to Pennsylvania will STOP the moment I take the oath of office. Those who do not belong, will be sent back home. We will end the invasion of small-town Pennsylvania—and we will END the destruction of America."

There was one truly important takeaway from Oprah’s “interview” of Harris. Once one sees Kamala Harris standing next to a real black person, it’s pretty obvious that Harris not black. She ‘s like Shaun King, Rachel Dolezal, and Jessica Krug — faking blackness to gain through affirmative action what she cannot earn on her own.

The YouTube algorithms have been suggesting a series of American’s vacation vlogs to expensive locales, stuff like ‘My Italian husband visits Buc-ees’ and other travel memes. I don’t need the in house CPA/MST to educate me on the favorable tax treatment of these ventures, like a free vacation favorable. Tesla Kim has been working the system for years, obvious because the family does have great wardrobes…I’m not sure what to say about the women scrubbing toilets in see thru clothing or body paint but I would suggest they consult their tax advisor…

If Americans must cross the border legally at the airport, then there is no border bill required to enforce that law at other parts of the border.

The world’s leaders would be relieved if Harris became president, they laughed at Trump right to his face when he spoke at the UN.

Indeed that is creepy.

Inga said...

It failed because Trump didn’t want the border issue to be addressed, he wanted to keep the border an issue he could use in his campaign. It was a bipartisan deal and would’ve dealt with the border at long last.

Inga said...

It’s not about “rewriting” history, it’s about moving forward and away from past mistakes this country has made. The true history of the US is trying to be whitewashed by the right wing, not the left.

The Green Party in Germany has gone all in on war with Russia, trying to force Scholz's hand to send more weapons to attack Russia, even though it has leaked that it would be impossible to attack Russia with German missiles without German military personnel programming in the specific targets and operating the missiles. In other words, German soldiers would be committing direct acts of war against Russia, which thankfully is a violation of German law.

I could never figure out why a political party as left wing as the Greens was so pro-war, but based on the wipeout of the German Greens in two most recent regional elections, it appears that my suspicion was correct, that the neolibs parachuted the leadership into the party, and hi-jacked it from its own voters to push the NATO expansion agenda to the point of war over it. Well, the Green voters aren't having it.

Parties in opposition to the war have been "winning" election after election according to the old rules, but the EU has been throwing out the post war democratic norms of European countries, from Poland, to Spain, to France, etc in order to keep the war mongers in power. At some point, though, it gets to the point, like in France, where those opposed to throwing gasoline on a fire in their own house, Europe, have a clear majority, and the same will be true in Germany soon enough.

David Chappelle warned us about Oprah. He said that Oprah took him aside for a "little talk" when he hit stardom, explaining to him "how things worked" and that he was going to have to play along, you know, like she did with Harvey Weinstein.

Oprah is a tool, and that is why they allowed her to become so wealthy.

tim in vermont said...

Good catch. You have no doubt noticed, as does anybody who pays attention long enough, that they always say they are doing the opposite of whatever it is that they are doing.

There was no war in gaza ukraine was frozen the houthis were under threat

tim in vermont said...

It's the same with US missiles, BTW. We are told "Why don't we let Ukraine fight" but the real issue is that Ukraine can't launch missiles into Russia without explicit US actions regarding the specific targets, actions taken by US personnel. In other words, without US personal committing an open act of war against Russia.

This is how Russia sees it, and it is almost certainly true, and Russia has said that if we do participate directly in attacks on Russia using our military, which is what would be required, that a state of war will exist between our countries. That the days of it being a proxy war are over.

Will nuclear war be their response? I doubt it, but we will probably take a step onto the slippery slope. Why didn't Russia start WW3 over the raid into Kursk? Well, because the Kursk raid has worked out greatly to the benefit of the Russians, and there was no need to start WW3 to deal with it.

The same people though, who assured us that the sanctions would cause Putin to be overthrown, or that the US weapons that we have provided, like HIMARS and ATACMS were going to turn the tide of the war, or Storm Shadow missile, or F-16s, or the Patriot system, none of these have proven anything by short lived annoyances for the Russians. Now China, BTW, has access to complete intelligence as to how to counter these systems.

So these people who have misjudged the situation time after time are now saying that Russia has no red lines, because Russia has found counters to all of our escalations without starting WW3.

The only real red line that Putin declared, during this war, was the use of depleted uranium on the battlefield, which he likened to dirty bombs, and the UK did provide such shells, which turned out to be useless, BTW, and Russia countered by providing Belarus with tactical nuclear weapons. Those DU shells were great back in the Iraq War, but that was the last war, in this war, they were nothing but a needless provocation.

So the people who have misjudged the situation time after time in this war are now assuring us that Putin is bluffing.

Janet Yellen warns that "veering off course" could harm economic trajectory

"U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has warned that a significant change in current economic policies could damage the American economy.

Writing for The Wall Street Journal in a Sept. 22 article, Yellen said that “veering off course could jeopardize our economic trajectory.”
Yellen said tax cuts for higher earners “would explode the federal deficit,” repealing investments in “the industries of the future would stunt growth,” and “pursuing nontargeted, nonstrategic international economic policies would raise costs for Americans and cause global turmoil.
"

Sure, Janet.

So many Janet's! Reno, Napolitano, Yellen. Is "Janet" the new "Karen?"

Transcripts Show President Trump's Directives to Pentagon Leadership to "Keep January 6 Safe" Were Deliberately Ignored

"Committee on House Administration's Subcommittee on Oversight Chairman Barry Loudermilk (GA-11) revealed that days before January 6, 2021, President Trump met with senior Pentagon leaders urging them to do their jobs to protect lives and property. The transcripts released show Trump gave senior Pentagon leadership directives to keep January 6 peaceful - including using the National Guard - which the Pentagon leaders ignored. This revelation directly contradicts the conclusions drawn in the flawed DoD IG reporton January 6, 2021.

In response to these revelations, Chairman Loudermilk released the following statement:

“Pentagon leadership prioritized concerns of optics over their duty to protect lives,” said Chairman Loudermilk. “President Trump met with senior Pentagon leaders and directed them to make sure any events on January 6, 2021 were safe. It is very concerning that these Senior Pentagon officials ignored President Trump’s guidance AND misled Congressional Leaders to believe they were doing their job, when they were not. The DoD IG’s report is fundamentally flawed. It does not draw conclusions from the interviews they conducted, but pushes a narrative to keep their hands clean. We have many questions for them, and we will continue to dig until we are satisfied the American people know the truth.
"

Links to the transcripts (they are lengthy) on the site.
