Trump loves bronze. Beautiful bronze. Beautiful everything — storefronts, so beautiful....

At yesterday's rally in Atlanta, Georgia, as he offered to protect us from urban crime and chaos, Trump fell into a reverie about beauty — the beauty of buildings and the tragedy of the desecration of the beauty of the urban landscape:
If Kamala wins it will be crime, chaos, and death all across our country.... They took over Seattle, 20%. If I didn't have the soldiers ready to go that morning... Seattle would still be occupied.... [W]hat they did with Portland... I was in the real estate business. I love storefronts. Beautiful bronze. I love bronze and beautiful everything — storefronts, so beautiful. In Portland... their storefronts have been so decimated they use old 2x4s with a wooden door — no glass no windows.... It's the worst looking avenue I've ever ever seen because, and I spoke to people that have shops there — they don't have many more—  they've all fled — but the few people that remain they have wooden storefronts made out of old lumber, and they said, no, anything we put up, including this, will be knocked down the next time, and it happens on a weekly basis and nobody does anything about it."

What has President Trump done for Oregon? Here’s a breakdown on what he did and didn’t deliver" (OPB, October 21, 2020).

Flashback to 2020:

On Portland’s streets: Anger, fear, and a fence that divides

Long article, and as usual, AP gets to the meat of the story somewhere past the halfway point. But in short, the Antifa goons were bashing in doors at the Federal building, lobbing Molotov Cocktails, aiming high-power lasers at windows, and launching industrial grade fireworks at the building.

No word on what consequences any of the bad actors may have suffered.

Trump is a builder, Democrats destroy.

imTay said...

So he agrees with Gramsci, that the way to destroy a democracy and install a dictatorship ... of the proletariat, of course... is to destroy the beauty of Western civilization. Oh, and BTW, did you know that Mayor Pete's dad was the foremost Gramsci scholar in the United States.... Anyway, Trump agrees with him except that Trump believes that the beauty should be protected.

imTay said...

Antifa was blinding Federal agents with green lasers. The United States has signed a convention that makes that a war crime. Not to worry though, the ICC is only there to prosecute people for removing orphaned children from an area being shelled constantly, even with cluster munitions, by friends of the West.

In fact, on prosecutor for the ICC claims to have been told by an elected official from Europe that the ICC was not intended to hold Western governments or their allies to account, only their enemies. So there's that. And if anybody is an ally of the Biden-Harris regime, it's Antifa.

I guarantee you Brian Kemp is just as worried as David Frum about the return of President Trump, and he can't even be sure that the Georgia state police won't turn on him.

Agriculture (including logging) is a quandary. It is supported somewhat by ‘handouts’ but is a low tech hard-working physical job (even if it is performed by the most advanced farming technology).

The real gains in making progress in such ‘low tech’ industries (I work in one) is to have the local governments work with you and support that industry. It means suppressing progressive policies and allowing the industry to grow, or not, organically as global demand changes.

The federal government can’t help such industries if the local and state government doesn’t want to. Most states have centralized blue cities making the rules, and focus on the population centers and bend to their ‘demands’ (‘she’s a witch!’).

Conversely federal policies need to do very little to destroy such industries; the proletariat in the blue states done see the connection between a failing economy (extreme inflation) and destruction of industry outside of the urban areas.

Trumps policies, while on the face of it might not be seen as a success, was successful in that it resulted in people keeping their jobs rather than loosing them, even if the industry didn’t ‘grow’. Indeed, how does one grow a logging industry, no pun intended? Natural resource management, as well as a lot of manufacturing industries, are not rapid growth but long term slow growth. They are the bedrock of a stable economy, not high tech, ‘internet based’ products.

Why would anyone in Georgia care about storefronts in Portland, Oregon. Is that a big topic in the media there or something, the sad state of brick and mortar retail in Oregon? seems like a weird thing to fixate on and it’s not like Oregon is in play. Voters in Georgia care about the storefronts in Portland because they know the destruction can so easily happen in their state and city as well.

Prior to the rally in Atlanta, Trump met with local small business owners for a round table discussion of their concerns. Maybe the subject of the destruction of storefronts in Portland came up in those discussions. Maybe those small business owners see Portland ANTIFA members in Atlanta and are concerned for the future of their businesses if ANTIFA-supporting Kamala Harris is elected.

Can't Trump save the Brian Kemp bitching for 100 days or so? Why is it so important to do it now when Georgia Dems are trying to take his freedom away if they win the state?

Donald Trump has done two major events in the last few days. He is running in an election were significant majorities voters favor him in regards to the major issues facing the nation such as immigration and the economy, however, a majority of voters have issues with Trump’s temperament and personality to such a degree that they will not vote for him even if it is in their interests to do so.

In each of the events Trump made big headlines. First, he thought the best issue to attack Kamala Harris on how she identifies herself. Second, he attacks a Republican governor, who is the post popular politician in the state, in a state that he lost narrowly in 2020 because enough suburban Atlanta Republicans found him too repulsive to vote for.

Last night he lost votes that he desperately needs.

The logic here is bizarre. Trump is at the plate in the bottom of the ninth in a tie game with the bases loaded and a 3-0 count and two outs. The pitcher then throws two pitches three feet off the plate and Trump swings and misses twice.

The tRump Swabs are going to fall back on the “it’s rigged” canard or blame others which is what they do whenever the Fat Tub of Goo steps on a rake. Raylen Givens likes to say that when you meet in a-hole in the morning you met an a-hole. When you do nothing but meet a-holes all day you’re the a-hole. In this case Trump is one flaming big a-hole.

I think that brass is one of Trump’s trademarks. We have a couple of units at one of his properties (Trump International In LasVegas). Very elegant. And part of it is the brass, white marble, and Crystal chandeliers. There is an older black gentleman, Willie, who works day shift during the week, keeping the brass polished, the windows cleaned, and the trash picked up. Asked him once about littering. He responded that it was job security. Ditto with lovingly polishing the brass a couple times a week. He loves Mr Trump, probably partly because he remembers Willie’s name. He was out for a month or so with a knee replacement, and the brass suffered. We all warmly welcomed him back. They also buff the marble downstairs every week on a set rotation.

tRump Swab Drago: RINO, Bush, DeSantis, $250 million, yadda, yadda, yadda.

For all the words tRump Swab First Class, Drago, refuses to address the issue - Trump’s idiocy. His focus on perceived past slights is, to put it mildly, counterproductive.

The enemy is Kamala Harris, not Brian Kemp. Why take the spotlight off of Kamala’s deficiencies?

Brian Kemp is the most popular politician in Georgia and runs the most effective machine in the state. Why, in the name of God, would Trump take it on when he needs it to win the state in November? It is political malpractice of the highest degree to go out of your way to alienate him.

Then Trump tops it off by calling for the purging of Republicans who aren’t sufficiently loyal to him.

Politics is a game of addition. When you decide to play the game using subtraction you lose.

If Trump were trying to lose the election what would he do differently? And yet the tRump Swabs follow their Lord and Savior off the cliff. I guess people like Drago are afraid of being blocked by such quality individuals as Catturd, Roger Stone, and Laura Loomer. So the official tRump Swab position is that Brian Kemp and Brad Raffensberger (and other likeminded, or should I say sane Republicans) are collaborating with the Democrats to defeat Donald Trump for reasons.

They refuse to even consider the more likely explanation of a Trump loss (Occam’s Razor) is that their Lord and Savior is an unhinged egomaniac with no self control.

Drago, I say this in all seriousness - you need to have your head examined. Paranoia is a dangerous condition and will lead to other mental issues.

"So the official tRump Swab position is that Brian Kemp and Brad Raffensberger (and other likeminded, or should I say sane Republicans) are collaborating with the Democrats to defeat Donald Trump for reasons."

The "official" facts are Raffensberger and his loathsome team were the biggest recipients of Zuckerbucks of any state in the union in 2020. Raffensberger and his staff played along with the Pravda media re: the Trump phone call which the actual transcript later showed to be false. And Kemp has had the opportunity to rein in the antics of Fanni and has refused to do so.

You clearly approve of each and everyone on these actions and more that are too tedious and well trod to recount again.

Because you cant refute any of that, its chaff time baby! Toss out as many insults as possible to cover for your Team!

Not to worry. As Ive written, your team is likely to pull it off again.

So again, early congratulations to you and Team Dem/GOPe. With any "luck" from your point of view this time next year, we'll be kicking another $100B into Ukraine, have boots on the ground, be fully into the green new deal again, more US jobs heading out, continued open borders etc. A Ken Griffin/Black Rock dream scenario.

Drago - when a party nominates a candidate who is despised by a majority of voters they tend to lose elections.

If Trump loses it will not be because of some conspiracy hatched in the fever swamps of Magadonia. It will because Republicans decided that it was a good thing to nominate a buffoon despised by a majority of Americans.

All the bad things that will happen under a Harris administration will be entirely on people like you. Just like all the bad legislation passed during the Biden administration is 100% on Donald “Ballot Box Poison” Trump because he discouraged Republicans from voting in the 2020 Senate runoffs and the he decided to endorse a bunch of losers in 2022 Senate races over candidates who could actually win elections.

If not for the Fat Tub of Goo’s idiocy and incompetence the Republicans would have at least 53 Senate seats.

If you want to blame someone for the impending disaster look in the mirror.

But you wont. Because why would you? Those things serve your actual purposes.

Drago said...

If you don’t think vote fraud is a burning issue for conservatives in swing states, you’re sadly mistaken. Last night Trump maximized his turnout in Georgia.

Kemp is the “most popular politician in Georgia” by default. That is, not Stacey Abrams. Holding his feet to the fire a bit does no harm and may help to curb any Romneyesque tendencies should Georgia’s vote be contested.

Kemp was Governor when Raffensberger signed a consent decree with Stacy Abrams which abolished signature verification.

Despite having triple the amount of mail in ballots, GA rejection rate was twice as low as previous years.

He knew there were serious questions about the 2020 election but he certified anyway.

This is after 500 members of the Georgia Republican party wrote a letter telling Kemp that they have serious doubts about the validity of the 2020 election. Despite that he refused a state forensic audit.

Kemp also appointed McAfee, who donated to Willis campaign. And magically got the RICO case.

Kemp publicly stated Trump should not get immunity in the Jack Smith fake classified documents case.

Spare me the Kemp is amazing bs."

Trump first resented Kemp went against Trump’s wishes and opened up Georgia in the summer of 2020. Trump p, following the advice of his deep state buddies like Fauci pleaded with Kemp not do it (rumor is that Trump’s exact quote was “sir, please don’t open up, it will make me look bad in front of my deep state friends). The second machine count and the hand count audit werethousands of votes short when they try to re-create their purported results in Fulton county. As a result of this, there were two state election board cases opened SEB2021-181 and SEB2023-025 and those cases have proven that the audit include

Brian Kemp‘s office was well aware of these problems because they signed off on a letter sent to the state election board which prompted the opening of SEB 2021–1 81.

The final count showed 506,948 votes but the certified vote count showed 527, 925 and of that 527,925 17,852 votes were missing ballot images from tabulators that do not exist.

What has Brian Kemp done to ensure this doesn’t happen again in 2024?

That would be a lot of nothing.

Brad Raffensberger and his general council Charlene McGowan are still claiming all three counts matched.

Donald Trump “lost” the Georgia by less than 11,000 votes.

The state election board had an opportunity to continue the investigation into SEB2023–025, which has documented all the discrepancies and the results were sent to an outside “consultant” chosen by Fulton county.

The matter will be discussed at the next board meeting on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.

So four years after the 2020 election, Brian Kemp knows damn well that there was serious issues in 2020 otherwise he would’ve never opened up a state election board case.

By the way, after the fact that he knew all this, he still refused to step up and do something about the fact that Fannie Willis was investigating Donald Trump for nothing, considering there are serious questions about the legitimacy of the 2020 election in Georgia.

People can look up these Georgia election state board cases if they want to.

Even journalists can look them up. Imagine that.

So all of the idiots who are Republicans saying that Kemp is so great. Do us a favor and do some research and use your brain."

When the New Soviet Democraticals and their GOPe globalist lackeys along with their far left Lawfare buddies plus their Deep State amigos are all working together to defeat you, you know you are doing something right.

The thing about Trump - and I like him a lot because he always speaks his mind - and that's more honesty than any other President or candidate I can recall - and I've been exposed to many including Hubert Humphrey whose hand I shook at my college, a nice but a thoroughly ineffective leader - the thing about Trump I find perplexing are his incessant digressions.
