At long last: marriage for Tim Scott.

Watch Republicans pounce on whatever meanness or dubiousness or racism this elicits.

In case you don't have Matthew memorized, 19:6 is: "So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate."

Let no one separate, not even the nannies and the porn stars, not even lawyers hoping for career advancement.

The Matthew quote is from Jesus, it's worth knowing/remembering. The Pharisees were testing him about divorce: "Why... did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?" Jesus said: "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery."

So much for Diversity (i.e. color judgment, class bigotry). At this rate, the future looks gray where diversity of individuals, minority of one matter. #HateLovesAbortion

“Watch Republicans pounce”? Are you baiting?

They did pick a good date to get married, right?

Congrats to the happy couples.

I believe, Leland, that the chain of events the Professor envisions is something like:

1. Democrats post stuff like "For a clean-shaven guy, he's got a nice beard."

2. Republicans point out how homophobic Democrats can be when it suits them.

3. The MSM give step 2 the "republicans pounce" treatment.

I interpret this to mean that gullible Althouse believes Stormy Daniels. How'd you get an endowed chair and you're that gullible?

In the South a confirmed bachelor is judged on his public behavior by the public, especially if he's not flaunting aberrant private behavior. South Carolina tolerated/ignored Lindsay Graham's nonexistent to very private, perhaps closeted, sexuality for so long as to make possible homosexuality in a well-mannered person a nonissue. Anything more said about Tim Scott's sexual preferences will sound very, very stupid. Almost as stupid as what they've said so far has sounded. That might not stop them, but it won't get them votes, or anything other than feelings of nonexistent power from their mockery.

I don't really get all the gay innuendo about Scott. He doesn't act effeminate like the much abused Lindsey Graham or Larry Craig did. He just seems asexual and boring.

Oh, there will be extensive media reporting of typical Republican pouncing and racism. Just don’t try and find it. Just trust the media.

The bow tie is very gay, bordering on the weird. (Looks like a giant moth to me.) He does look like he’s more flamboyant than the bride. LOL Whatever works for them.
He looks extremely happy and that’s always a good sign imo. At his age, he’s hardly doing this for appearances.

"In an intimate evening ceremony at the chapel at Seacoast Church on Long Point Road, the South Carolina Republican exchanged vows with Mindy Noce, a 47-year-old interior designer"

OK, she's 47 and has 3 grown kids. So, Tim wont have to fake an interest in hetrosexual sex. I'm sure she'll be OK with a few "Boyfriends" popping up on his IMs.

Tim Scotts path to power was very strange. He was a member of the SC house of reps for a couple years, and in 2011 was elected to the US house of representatives. Then Nikki Haley appointed him to the US Senate in 2013 to complete DeMint's term. After serving 1 year as the incumbent senator he was elected on his own in 2014.

Basically, he was fasttracked into the US Senate by the SC republican establishment that wanted a black US senator. Despite the fact that blacks in SC still vote against him 80-20. Once elected, he's in their for life, since SC Republicans just vote for the incumbent over and over again, unless they're found in bed in with dead girl or a live boy.

I took that as a contemplated possibility that some folks on the left will say something unkind or nasty about their marriage, and folks on the right will complain and say that it is unkind or nasty, and then the media will cover the story as, "Republican pounce on comments made by...".

I'm still waiting for the crazy eyed Black Senator from NJ to get married.

I thought it looked good. Black men and other men with darker complected skin can pull off brighter color combinations in suits and tuxedos better than white men can. I think the more strongly linked with gay culture tuxedo accessory is the harness.

Another "bad faith" argument from RCOCEAN II.

Dems can legitimately groom black candidates for national office, but the GOP does it only for nefarious purposes, anointing a pliable pickaninny as their Puppet:

Isn't that it, RC?

Scott is sporting a Brackish tie. Bow ties are an upscale men's fashion statement in SC, and Brackish makes a variety of ties from feathers. The one Scott's wearing looks like wild turkey. Downside: they are pre-tied.

I don't understand the "at long last" in the caption. Is there a story behind that? Was this wedding delayed? Or is it meant more like, the man couldn't find himself a wife before and finally --at long last-- managed to land someone. She seems like someone worth the wait.

The Cracker Emcee Refulgent said...

I thought the bow tie cool and the bride hot. Good for him.

Wow. We were so thin back then when we were 18 forty years ago.

I had never heard of or seen brackish bowties before. I have to admit that now that I know they’re made out of feathers I really see giant moths. OMG There really is no accounting for taste.

" While not much is known about Noce’s upbringing, she was raised alongside three older brothers. When the trio enrolled at The Citadel, a military college in Charleston, S.C., she decided she wanted to go to school in the same city.

Noce went on to attend the College of Charleston, per her Atlantic Properties bio. While in school, she studied health science, thanks to her interest in sports, including running and tennis.
She lives in South Carolina

After graduating from college, Noce decided to remain in Charleston and has lived in the port city for over 18 years. After spending time on the Isle of Palms by the water, she now resides on Daniel Island. While there, she raised three children, whom she hasn't shared details about online. "

The female attendant is wearing a dress the same color as Scott's skin. I hope she wasn't forced to buy it.

Since Tim Scott was not picked by Trump to be his VP, the black Senator no longer has to be concerned about pissing off Donald by marrying a white lady. Mindy Noce and her ex-husband were sued for setting up shell companies to get investments, and then spending the money on luxuries. She claimed to be a "housewife" in 2017 but now she is supposedly an interior designer. She studied at the College of Charleston where she majored in Health Science, but she has no degree. Her ex is continuing to struggle to pay back the funds taken.

And poor Jabfly will twist his sphincter into dragging Trump regarding Scott's simpery.
Note he will never drop the scrutiny on Dem folks, arbiter of acceptability he is.
Careful there, Jabfly. 'Rona rising among the jabbed.
