I think #1 would make a great oil landscape although I'd remove the square building. I like the heavy balance of blue on top.

Reports are coming in that Israel has attacked targets in Iran and Iraq. As of 10:30 EDT details add sketchy.

They caught one in time in Rockville, Maryland. A teenaged trans male who went by the name of Alex Ye (“dead name” Andrea Ye) was arrested before “he” was able to carry out plans to shoot up a local elementary school. Montgomery County Police are said to have found a 129 page manifesto that included details of the planned assault.

What I’d like to know is whether “he” was getting testosterone injections as part of some hormone therapy. This is not a political question but perhaps a medical one. Testosterone is a very potent hormone, and it can be a challenge for teenaged biological males to cope with it, yet our male bodies are designed by evolution to cope with puberty sending testosterone washing through our bodies. Do the doctors really know what a safe dose is for teenaged biological women? Basically, are teenaged trans males not prepared to cope with the rage that comes from too much testosterone?

I think someone needs to be looking at this.

Thanks, Biden. Middle East war is another great mark for the worst President in US history.

I suspect Over-compensating Non-combat "vet" Howitzer Howard is this very night wetting himself while curled up in a ball in the corner as the Israeli's strike back at Howie's beloved islamaic supremacist democrat allies in Tehran.

Howie does NOT appreciate anyone making the key future democrat party constituency, islamic supremacists, feel bad.

Which is why Howie spends so much time attacking Christians and the Chrisian faith on Althouse blog while remaing quiet as a church mouse (see what I did there?) on what his islamic supremacist amigo are up to. He clearly wants his new pals to know he will be a very docile and supportive and happy dhimmi.

In a perfect World, everything would be perfect.

A cat lives with me, and cajoles me, by vocalizations, to come with her, into the bathroom, where she leaps upon the counter, and eyes me expectantly. What she wants, is for me to turn the tap, so that the faucet produces a thin stream. She then puts her forefeet down in the sink, turns her head up to one side, and laps at the stream. This looks very uncomfortable. But I can't really see how it could be denied that this is "what she wants".

The trickle of water involved would take many minutes to equal the amount of water I use in a second in the shower. But somehow, I am unwilling to simply turn the water on and leave the cat to her pleasures. I stand there, with some degree of patience, waiting for my cat to drink her fill. Half a billion live in abject poverty and neglect, while I await a cat's satiety.

Jupiter said...

I'm trying to understand my own behavior, which may well be impossible. The cat desires something - a stream of water to lap at - which makes little sense, but why should the desires of a cat make sense to me? Take the cat as a given. Why do I care, about what the cat wants? Because the cat is in my house, and can annoy me? Perhaps cats have evolved to make use of our response to babies crying. A human that developed the ability to be indifferent to that particular range of sounds would be reproductively suboptimal. Over time, there would be fewer of them.

Harvard University’s former president who resigned after numerous plagiarism allegations is slated to teach a graduate-level “Reading and Research” course this upcoming semester.

Professor Claudine Gay returned to teaching and her nearly $900,000 annual salary after resigning from the presidency after ongoing plagiarism accusations and criticism of her response to campus antisemitism.

Harvard knows how to fire their president and then have the audacity to pay her a mere $900K for slaving over teaching one minuscule graduate-level course.

News Flash from Turtle Island
Ilhan Omar's daughter belongs to Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at Columbia and has been expelled for disrupting campus activities with other SJP members. This organization [SJP] is dedicated to eradicating both Israel (From the River to the Sea) and the United States which it refers to as "Turtle Island."
Here are quotes from the website of National Students for Justice in Palestine:

"... organizations such as Students for Justice in Palestine emerged across occupied Turtle Island (U.S. and Canada) as a way to educate, advocate, and mobilize in support for Palestinian liberation."
...
"National Students for Justice in Palestine supports over two hundred Palestine solidarity organizations on college campuses across occupied Turtle Island (U.S. and Canada)"
...
"National Students for Justice in Palestine will facilitate the SJP National Network, the body coordinating all aspects of campus-based Palestine solidarity organizing across Turtle Island."
...
"We seek a political framework that addresses collective liberation from Palestine to the Rio Grande."

And progressives wonder why students cry about their student loans and the price of college?? WHY does she deserve almost 1 million a year?? For her plagiarism??

@ the gad. Claudine Gay teaching one course for $900 now joins Lizzy Warren (D-Fraud) teaching one course for a six figure salary. The search for the cause of exorbitant tuition remains elusive however.

The cause of ruinous student loans is the availability of those loans. Because students have access to unlimited money, schools are free to charge unlimited tuition, which enables them to hire legions of DEI administrators and pay famous people exorbitant salaries in exchange for very nearly nothing. A student loan bailout might help some individuals, but it will make the systemic problem worse.

Financial aid is a scam to transfer the future earnings of students into the pockets of school administrators today.
