These kids today take communism seriously....

Somewhere there’s video of Obama with young kids in the East Room and he’s explaining to them that capitalism is evil and if you want to have a meaningful life you need to work in government. Getting to kids at an early age really works. Three of those kids tried to start a Bolshevik Revolution in our accounting firm. Mercifully they failed and they quit so we didn’t have to fire them…

The left HATE Musk now - because he is all in for free speech.
The left HATE free speech. Well, the left enjoy free speech... but they do not want any dissent.
They left will not tolerate any criticism against the left.
That's why it's perfectly natural to refer to The left as Neo-Maoists, Stalinists and Leninists.

Children are always 'communists' in some fashion -- they receive life and food and shelter for free from their parents. The selfish kids bully others to get more and more stuff, while the compassionate ones think everything in life is free and that money indeed grows on trees (parents).

Humans did exactly the same thing with Christianity before the industrial revolution and factories created the secular version of the religion, now known as Marxism.

The issue for all time is that money does not grow on trees. Christians had delayed gratification via the afterlife/heaven to deal with reality, while the 20th century Communists imploded because they never figured that part out. Children today have zero economic challenges...so they'll remain children for life unless they have a challenge.

I'll answer the question I asked Rich awhile ago that he utterly failed to answer.
"Where does wealth come from?"
Idividuals create wealth. That's all.
The Musks. the Jobs. The Wozniacs. The Fords create wealth. Labor adds value to wealth, but does not create it. That's all. Workers in charge of production is never a good idea because they don't enjoy the decipline and vision to continue to create.
Now the corollary.
Governments consume wealth. Wealth disappers under high taxes. Since the government cannot create anything without first taking something in the form of taxes or takings from the populace.
That's it. Basic economics.

Not a raving fan of Shapiro, but he has his moments. This was well worth watching.

Musk is an amazing individual, truly a Hank Rearden come to life. He has his flaws, as we all do, but if the only thing he had done with his career was to liberate X/Twitter from the stifling left-wing Thought Police, that should be enough to earn him our undying gratitude.

Kids today take communism seriously at some point in their youth ALL kids take it seriously. It FEELS right and fair. But most kids grow up and come to understand that communism ONLY works for the few that have guns and power. Today because teachers still believe in communism, their students do.

For the adults that believe in communism, there is no amount of death and carnage that is enough to prove to them that it does not work.

Spent a week in Krakow this past spring. It’s incredible how diligent the Poles are in instilling Polish history into their schoolchildren. I saw multiple groups at all the key historical sites drinking in the narratives of their teacher—and I’m pretty sure it was not Critical anything. If you know Polish history you can understand why.

Yes, Cook thinks they are all "fictional." Mean while Biden appoints people who have studied at the Moscow Academy where they learned such things as banks are bad.

Her quotes: "While many emigrants from the former Soviet Union used the freedom enjoyed in the West to speak out against authoritarian socialism, Omarova has suggested the free market is in some ways inferior to the state control found in the U.S.S.R."

and

"A 2020 article written by Omarova that suggests the need for a government-controlled “people’s ledger” that would “end banking as we know it” has caused further friction over her nomination, with some reports suggesting that moderate Democrats may oppose her appointment."

Yes, Cook they are imaginary. Fortunately, she was rejected but she was not alone.

Also, gays are sent to prison and tortured with electroshock treatments for being gay. Ask me how I know.

It’s true from the reaction to 9/11, the reaction to Covid and some people might even say the overreaction to sexism.

True of DEI too.

Who are these people who Biden appointed who "have studied at the Moscow Academy?" Appointed to what positions? What do Biden appointees have to do with Obama? How do you know these appointees "learned such things as banks are bad?" Many Americans visit, live and work, and study in Russia. Do you assume that makes them communists or that they think banks are bad? (Heck, there are no commie Russians left in Russia!)Do you think banks can't be bad?

Drout's Iron Law of Communism:

Communists are only world-class at three things:
1) Murdering people;
2) Stealing their stuff;
3) Lying.

Therefore everything that Communists do soon reverts to one of more of the three core competencies of Communists.

(Remember, the F in "Communism" stands for Food)

*N.B.: Part of #3 is jumping in and taking credit for popular things that other people did. You don't need communists to get workers' rights or to push for independence from far-away empires--there were non-communists movements to do those things, because they're so good a lying, they're good at inserting themselves into and then taking over other movements.

Mutaman: "40 % drop in Tesla's earnings? Can you imagine where it would be if Musk wasn't so "amazing"."

LOL!

Are you sure you want to continue running with that?

I'll bet you do!

Lets start here:

What a truly horrible year for Tesla.

- Model Y just became the best selling vehicle in the world!
- 2023: $15 billion in profit
- $29.1 billion in cash on hand
- Near no debt
- Energy storage deployment 125% growth!
- Auto margin: 17.6% (17.6%!!)
- FSD v12 to all in US in weeks
- Gross profit of Services & Other biz increased from ~$500M loss in 2019 to a ~$500 profit in 2023
- 4680 production is good. Not a blocker
- Tesla Optimus Bots is the future, "Westworld" lab in progress
- New $25K auto development announced 12 months early

And so much more good news.

This exact same scenario happened in January 2023...and Jan 2022...and etc.

The Wall Street traders and algorithym traders are whining like they always do because Elon doesnt run Tesla like a day traders dream with a heavy marketing and sales department so these whiners can ride the expected waves as they do elsewhere.

Tough.

This is a long haul play with energy storage, optimus and AI/FSD likely to outperform Tesla's auto operations in the end, and Tesla's auto ops will lead the world. So do the math...the long term math.

Not to mention the amazing advanced manufacturing moves Tesla has achieved.

Thanks for playing Mutaman!

Between you, Dumb Lefty Mark, LLR-democratical Rich, readering, gadfly, LLR-democratical lonejustice LLR-democratical And Violent Homosexual Rage Rapist Chuck in the house, we will never be at risk of losing out on moronic business-ignorant "hot takes" from our resident dullards!

And dont buy Tesla stock even though its a steal at this fleeting moment! Tesla is not for you. Its the future after all...unless you guys succeed in taking Elon out and handing his creations to your New Soviet Democratical cronies.

Perhaps a GM debt bond is more your speed for now....

Nowhere is there such a video found on my search engines so rehajm should name names of kids who didn't take Obama's advice and work for the government. American accountants always believe in capitalism.

Here is what Obama wrote about capitalism in The Economist:

Noting that "the world is more prosperous than ever before and yet our societies are marked by uncertainty and unease," the president wrote, "It is important to remember that capitalism has been the greatest driver of prosperity and opportunity the world has ever seen."

It was interesting to see how Elon Musk behaves around an intelligent interviewer. He looked quite different - more relaxed - and he explained things better. The question they circled around and around was: how to achieve social justice or, perhaps, it might be better to say - how best to work toward it. I believe it's true that people are very intense about asking and answering this question; it's a central moral issue. And when Musk says "communism rebranded" he really refers to the error that says social justice can be achieved quickly if only we ... [seize the means of production, install CRT in the schools, install DEI in corporations etc.] and push forward on our chosen final solution with complete disregard for all other considerations. The problem is that social structures descending from a historical situation are not the only obstacles. Personal flaws - blind ambition, greed, selfishness, ignorance, - they come out of the past also and they obstruct every reform. But communism and its rebrands overlooks this. When a situation fails to improve it's due to the social past, not the personal past. And so, under communism and its rebrands when persons pull reforms off course no course correction is acknowledged or made. Claudine Gay should not have become President of Harvard with a thin, plagiarized academic record. But more to the point, the person who silenced Roland Fryer should not have seemed like a promoter of diversity. But her words about what she intended meant more than her clawing ambition to rise by pulling down other blacks.
All other social systems are in closer touch with the realities of human nature and all other systems can correct their course. Time to go back to a humbler knowledge leading to humbler reforms. It's not as much fun as the world according to grandiose dreams but it's more likely to achieve some social justice. And that's the goal.

A good summary:

"In the near-term, Tesla stock is merely a call option on interest rates.

In the long-term, Tesla stock is a call option on the future."

Yes, generic quotes from unnamed and undated sources are the best source of stock information.

Plus those quotes really show how EVs are going to take over the car market.

Drago said...

Dumb Lefty Mark: "Plus those quotes really show how EVs are going to take over the car market."

I see you have a difficult time following the conversation. It explains quite a bit.

I'm assuming its been a lifelong affliction.

Maybe you should abandon this little Tesla kick you are on since its clearly outside your ability to understand, along with SpaceX and xAI and Neuralink and the Boring Co., and simply return to your standard 1 simple metric at a time "analysis" and criticism of X.

You seemed much happier there.

And I didn't even get into Tesla's 4680 ramp up!

Which is huge, given 4680 ramp is ahead of expectations and Tesla appears to have more than needed for cybertruck AND future products.

That mean more batteries energy storage for Tesla energy which also will be likely much larger in the end than the EV business.

This is a fundamental fact that Dumb Lefty Mark's brain cannot grasp: Tesla is actually (depending on how you break it down) 4 or 5 synergistic companies achieving breakthroughs across the board and several of those synergistic entities within Tesla will be larger than EV's.

Portfolio managers always want all the bells and whistles ptesentations on forward guidance so they can repackage the base info for their high net worth investors without having to do their own detailed due diligence.

Thats not how Elon operates, and he's in good company given Warren Buffet and Jamie Dimon, amongst others, dont advise alot of early guidance which warps management thinking during the year to try and hit too early projections and keep massaging data and actions to "smooth out" earnings.

That reporting/management model wont work here.

Just like last year, Tesla will kick out 2024 projections based on a quarter of actual results and with a clearer picture of interest rate impacts.

If the LT upside potential isnt enough to overcome your ST profit taking needs based on expected PT's, get out and move the cash elsewhere.

Exit question for Dumb Lefty Mark: How was Tesla able to cut prices and still improve on margins?

LOL

Thanks for playing. Now go sit with Mutaman in the back.
