Given that home-grown Nazi (and Nazi-leaning) kook klubs (and their predecessors the KKK) have found fertile soil in which to sprout all around the country for decades, and they still openly exist, so I'm inclined to believe this is real...but I am open to seeing any evidence that it is false. Having lived in NYC for 40 years, I remain completely unaware of any hotbeds of Nazis there, (at least, not since 1939). Having lived in Florida for 17 years (growing up there from age 8) I am unaware of any hotbeds of "leftwingers" there. (I honestly was not aware of any prominent hotbeds of Nazis there, either, though I don't doubt there are some people there who are KKK/Nazi sympathetic in their beliefs, and probably even small active clubs of them here and there.) The state where I was born and lived to age 8, Indiana, had the largest population of active KKK members in the country about 100 years ago.
