"A group of about 20 neo-Nazi demonstrators waved swastika flags and used the Nazi salute in downtown Madison on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023."

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports (with video).

From the madisonwi subreddit:

Caution: Nazis on state street
byu/LogisticsRecruiter inmadisonwi

Top-rated comment at Reddit: "Carl! We said black pants! Why did you wear urban camo? Nobody’s gonna take us seriously now!" Second: "Looks like someone forgot to bring their solid red or black shirt to their nazi dress-up party and had to wear a flannel. Soooo embarrassing!"

More comments from over there: "Can you imagine being as much of a loser as these guys? This is probably the most pathetic thing you could possibly spend your time doing on a Saturday in Wisconsin"/"I keep laughing about this. It’s just a beautiful fall day, it’s hunting season, there’s a football game. You could just walk around Madison and be normal, and people would give you beer! But these guys chose to put on masks, pile into a Uhaul like it’s a clown car, and drove to downtown Madison to waltz about waving Nazi flags and acting menacingly toward families and college students. There is nothing you could possibly be doing today that would be a sadder life decision than that."

OK, Madison. That's funny. A little pod of Nazis drifting around Madison waving their little flags. At least in Skokie the yentas outnumbered the Nazis and were yelling rude thinngs at them and laughing.

Nazis were not all bad. Ideals were flying around, support of family values, kindness to animals, all sorts of virtue. Hermann Goring was head of the Tierschutzverein, the humane society.

Evil is not the simple thing that's supposed to be obvious in an adult society. It takes intellectual effort to recognize it.

Hence Hannah Arendt, virtue that goes public turns into the worst sort of evil.

You find a lot of public virtue on the left, in fact practically nothing else; but more also on the right now. Public virtue makes great clickbait, is the problem on the right.

I wonder what the last evil thing each of these Nazis did was. Probably nothing.

It's probably a performance to signal the rejection of something the good people are putting out.

The sotto voce remark is the traditional place for it, but that's old fashioned now.

To verify we need to see their haircuts.

As rehajm said, there is a good chance that they are federal agents or otherwise on their payroll.

Assuming they are not, why wouldn't they be out there? We have seen mass protests that cannot be interpreted as anything other than approval of the genocide of Jews. When else would they make an appearance? It's freaking Nazi Christmas right now.

The color Red is tied to Trump, which is bad now and again. Black is antifa and BLM. The swastika is anti-jews. And the Nazis protestors skin color, which appears to be white, is said to be anti-black; black as in African American, or so we are told by some higher educators and book award winners.

As a latino, I'm feeling kind of left out.

the likelihood that this was a false flag operation organized by the federal government or the progressive movement is high. Remember when Project Veritas got the high ranking member of the Hillary Clinton for president campaign to brag about he sent homeless men to Trump rallies to start fights right in front of the podium while trump was speaking.

I've been reading how the FBI infiltrated every level of the second wave feminist movement, in every locale, and pulled dirty tricks to make them look crazier than they were.

And yes there is a copious record that was released via FOIA and investigated by Congressional hearing.

J Edgar is dead but I do believe the feds would and have infiltrated every fucking org on the right. So I don't believe any of this shit is real.

Keep in ind that being a Nazi is the worst thing tat anyone can do. So artsy, it’s probably for the shock value. But another part of it is that the Nazis opposed te Russians, which is why there is such a big Nazi resurgence in Ukraine.

Daylight parades, even by masked participants, are just not worth anyone being upset over. Laugh at the funny people.

BUT: Growing up half a century ago in the South, seeing yahoos wearing masks and expressing violent racist ideologies was a legal and just cause for shooting first, especially if encountered at one's home after sunset. I still believe defensive violence to be a correct reaction to stop criminal misbehavior by any and all such miscreants, especially if they are masked for anonymity.

This being a more enlightened age than the 1960s South, however, I apologize in advance for any potentially offended feelings among those subjected to their well-deserved perforation.

Its odd how the more leftwing a Town or neighborhood is the more "Nazis" there are. College towns, and LA/NYC/South Florida seem to be hotbeds of "Nazism". Its almost like the Leftists were committing fake hate crimes, drawing upside down swatsiza on doors, calling into Synagouges, and posing as fake nazis.

But that's unpossible.

False flag?

Robert Cook said...

"What’s really funny is that nobody believes this is real. We all know it’s a false flag operation. The only question is which activist group or government agency is behind it."

But...you don't know it's a false flag operation. You "believe" it, (as in your prior statement, "nobody believes this is real"), but belief is not knowledge...as all those who "know" the 2020 election was rigged/stolen still have not learned.

It may be a false flag operation, or it may be real. You have no basis as yet to know it is fake.

Given that home-grown Nazi (and Nazi-leaning) kook klubs (and their predecessors the KKK) have found fertile soil in which to sprout all around the country for decades, and they still openly exist, so I'm inclined to believe this is real...but I am open to seeing any evidence that it is false. Police agents provocateurs have been and are used by various law enforcement agencies at various levels of authority and at various times in our history and today. But, until such evidence is presented, I will assume these Nazi dopes are the real things...Nazis and dopes!

Robert Cook said...

"Its odd how the more leftwing a Town or neighborhood is the more 'Nazis' there are. College towns, and LA/NYC/South Florida seem to be hotbeds of 'Nazism.'"

Having lived in NYC for 40 years, I remain completely unaware of any hotbeds of Nazis there, (at least, not since 1939). Having lived in Florida for 17 years (growing up there from age 8) I am unaware of any hotbeds of "leftwingers" there. (I honestly was not aware of any prominent hotbeds of Nazis there, either, though I don't doubt there are some people there who are KKK/Nazi sympathetic in their beliefs, and probably even small active clubs of them here and there.) The state where I was born and lived to age 8, Indiana, had the largest population of active KKK members in the country about 100 years ago.
