Chris Christy is the guy they wanted to stuff into a locker, but had to settle for walk-in freezer instead.

Chris Christie said that? The jokes just write themselves, amirite?

You mean the guy who went on to become a millionaire while you're pushing a broom in that same high school? That guy, Chris?

You fat fuck. If I saw you doing something like that I’d kick you fat ass and beat your ignoramus head head on the locker door till you apologized for your stupid behavior. What an ass you are.

Yeah? Well, I suspect that's how Progressives view Chris Christie.

Why does Chris Christie have food in his mouth while he’s doing an interview?

I met Chris Christie on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant when he was campaigning for NJ Governor the first time. He was smooth, engaging and full of shit. I voted for him. It’s one of two I’ve come to regret. The other was for Mitt Romney. Both RHINOS but in retrospect there was no alternative. Time has revealed, to me at least, who both these guys always were. Too bad you have to grow old and wiser from experience before you can call a spade a spade.

Are we starting to get the same 'political elite' on the Republican side as on the Democratic? A bunch of people who don't have any notable accomplishments to their name, but do have a massive ego and the willingness to stab other candidates wherever they can slip a knife?

Try persuading me that Christie's in this for the good of the country, and not to feed his... ego.

The story Vivek tells in his book is that in grade school a Black kid (probably fat) pushed him down a stairwell and he broke his leg. It was a diverse grade school.

So, Dad and Mom sent Vivek to the Jesuit high school of Cincinnati. They didn’t want their son to get beat up daily. He was first in his class and that lead to Harvard and then Yale Law.

Had coffee with one on my Jesuit HS classmates. Before he taught at Creighton Prep, he taught at a public high school. First day of class and the kids had started a fire in a 55 gallon barrel in the high school hallway. This was over 25 years ago.

Chris needs to go away. America hates him.

Is Mr. Christie’s waist-line a defensive measure?

To me, Chris looks like the bully who turns out to be a coward.

Hey, Chris, to get to Vivek, you would have had to go through me. No locker stuffing in my school. We policed ourselves.

Leland said...

Christie can’t beat Vivek short of violence, so one goes with the option they have.

I guess he's conceded the Indian-American vote. That's really gonna hurt his chances in the primaries. But whether it was just a bad joke or the inner Christy oozing out between the fat folds it took the shine off the glib, well-prepared debater act he had going. Dumb thing for a smart guy to say.

Rabel said...

I want to apologize to Governor Christy for my fat fold accusation above.

He's one of those guys that are so bloated up that all that extra skin gets puffed out like a parade balloon. So, no fat folds. Except for that front-butt thing. He's got that rocking.

Ampersand said...

For someone in public life, he displays a strange lack of self awareness. Bullying the new Asian kid, and then bragging about it, is a bad thing.

JK Brown said...

Chris Christie channeling his inner Al Bundy. We know Chris, you were somebody....in high school.

Mike of Snoqualmie said...

The same Chris Christie who gave Barrack a hug during the 2012 presidential run? For sending FEMA to NJ after a hurricane? Undercutting Milt the Rhino's run.

Chris Christie couldn't be stuffed in a locker without using a cutting torch to turn six lockers (3x2) into one. Then, he'd have to watch out that the red hot metal didn't scorch his little behind.

tommyesq said...

So Christie's big push for why we should elect him is because he is a giant douchebag who advocates picking on the weak, pushing the large, communist, nuclear-bearing countries of the world to unite against us, and he can't even be bothered enough to finish the tic-tacs in his mouth before doing an interview?

Lilly, a dog said...

To be fair, Chrisp Chrispy is the only candidate who could legitimately say, "I could eat that guy for breakfast."

Winning hearts and minds. Holding hands on the beach.

The happy memories. The income + expense account from the campaign followed by the book deal.

It's a great life! If we still have TV, he'll be there. Can't imagine who would watch a Chris Christie podcast though. Swerving the All-In boys this week.

Once again, Trump is blessed, with enemies like this who needs friends? The Republican Never Trumpers never fail to be even more disgusting and creepy than the Democrats. Trump's unique power is to expose them, or actually to get them to expose themselves.

rcocean said...

Nobody has ever stuffed Christie into a locker.

For obvious reasons.

Christie is such a absurd tedious big-mouth. Trump was POTUS for 4 years. He's met and talked to Putin and the North Korean leader. Christie was a failed Governor of NJ. Yet Christie lectures Trump on what can and cannot be done in Foriegn Policy!

Christie isn't running for POTUS, he's running for a MSNBC Gig.

And he's attacking Mr. V for the same reason he's NOT attacking Joe Biden. He's giving the leftwing MSM what they want.

Christie is Obama plus 200 pounds.

Bob Boyd said...

Romney and Christie, both high school bullies apparently.
I bet Vivek could easily humiliate Chis Christie in the ring or on the debate stage.

I think they should fight. Do it on the same card as Musk and Zuckerberg. Christie would have to sit down in the locker room and catch his breath between putting on his jock strap and his trunks.
Because of his gut Christie hikes his pants up so high he has to reach over his shoulder to take out his wallet.

Bob Boyd said...

If Christie ever thought somebody was going to send him into combat, he'd be trying to stuff himself into a locker.

Squishy, no principles, arrogant, vain...in short, a major league asshole.

It’s typical of Chris Christie’s political instincts that he thought it was a good idea to pair his personal image with that of a high school bully who got his jollies pushing thin nerds into lockers. Makes you think that as governor he’d be the sort of cheap bully who’d try to get even with some municipality’s mayor over a perceived slight by closing a state bridge that ordinary people needed for their rush hour commutes. Oh, wait.

Chris Christie is known as the man who sold Donald Trump on Christopher Wray for the position of Director of the FBI. All by itself that ought to be disqualifying, but Christie asserts that Wray is doing a good job as Director. He’s the only GOP candidate — possibly the only member of the Republican Party — who thinks so.

Christie was, astonishingly enough, a decent baseball player. When he was governor of NJ he used to come on WFAN and talk sports with the hosts, to the point where at one time he was considering hosting a show himself.

In any event they had some big charity game at Yankee Stadium one time. Christie looked like a blimp stuffed into a sausage casing, but actually played third base and handled some hot shots. I remember thinking that it took some stones to appear in public looking like that.

But he is still a big loser. And an embarrassment.

Fandor said...

Dear Ann, I want to apologize to you and the commentators for my knee jerk reaction to the comment made by Chris Christie. No doubt, if I had actually witnessed such action, as described by Christy, I would have acted as I said. Bullies, all sorts, raise my hackles allowing me to suspend good judgement at times. I'm sure many here know the feeling. Beating a bully to a pulp and humiliating him would make me no better than the bully himself. I'm told we must respect the dignity of every human being. Those who don't must be called out on it and shamed if nessassary. In this case, I'm calling myself out. I am ashamed.
Our world has become very uncivil on all fronts, in action and words. Apparently I'm not above making my own contributions to that endeavor.
We have a president who is a babbling idiot, run by God knows who, and together "they" are destoying our country, values, traditions, laws and constitution. Discourse has become after hours intoxicated Las Vegas vulgarities, Rat Pack not so witty quips. Everyone is just so "cool", so full of themselves. Ridicule is the coin of the realm if you ain't Woke.
It's too bad and very, very sad. It's frustrating and I want to push back, fight. We all do.
Your blog is one way we are pushing back and remaining in the conversation.
Thanks for your postings and the commenters you let express "a piece of their mind."
However, I do regret my votes for both Christe (2 times) and Romney, the Rats.

Did anyone here ever actually see a scrawny nerd stuffed into a locker? I call Urban Legend.

Same with all the gallant commentary about how we dealt with bullies. Unless the bullied kid was a friend, or little brother, we let nature take its course. (Sounds like FLB and taking Trump behind the bleachers--one of the best jokes of recent times.)

Not that I saw much actual violence--nothing to match what I got at home. Mostly it was locker room towel-popping and keepaway.

The sort of thing most adults get over, unless they become politicians and sycophants.

Of course you do. Vivek strongly opposes the complete weaponization of government against conservatives and he would also strongly oppose having a handful of select, America Last, globalist establishment GOPe hacks being given the power to select the republican nominee in a smoke filled room.

Your dislike of him is perfectly understandable.

But he could be FIVE Mitt Romneys!
