I asked Chat to translate an article from German that I was reading about the Ukraine war, and the article had made the claim that Biden's apparent corruption in Ukraine undermines support for the war in the US. Well, Chat threw in that I should read stories about Hunter Biden with skepticism. The story never mentioned Hunter Biden.

It then said that I should focus on "credible sources" of news, and it included the New York Times.

I asked why the New York Times was credible, and it gave its long history of publication and many awards it had won,

So I said that the New York Post was the oldest continuously published newspaper in the US. It did concede that, but said that it had undergone many editorials changes over that time, as if the New York Times hasn't, and that it was now a right-wing tabloid.

When I asked it if the New York Times was left wing, it said that there were claims of bias, but that it was trustworthy source of news.

When I asked if the Hunter Biden laptop was authentic, it said that there are people who dispute its authenticity. There are also people who claim we never landed on the moon.

I asked it if it could possibly be biased itself, and Chat said that it had been trained on vast amounts of text, and interprets that text neutrally. It is simply unaware of the "adjustments" that are done to it by people who rate its answers, or the possibility of systematic bias in the text that it is fed. I wonder if one day, if it really does become intelligent, if it will be able to see through its brainwashing.

"The End Is Nearing" - Seymour Hersh Slams The White House's "Wishful Approach" To Ukraine War
Sullivan, the national security adviser, recently brought an American delegation to the second international peace summit earlier this month at Jeddah in Saudi Arabia..
As unlikely as it sounds, there was such a peace summit and its stars did include MBS, Sullivan, and President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine. What was missing was a representative of Russia, which was not invited to the summit..
Reuters reported that Zelensky’s goal was to get international support for “the principles” that that he will consider as a basis for the settlement of the war, including “the withdrawal of all Russian troops and the return of all Ukrainian territory.”
Meanwhile, far away on the battlefield in Ukraine, Russia continued to thwart Zelensky’s ongoing counteroffensive. I asked an American intelligence official why it was Sullivan who emerged from the Biden administration’s foreign policy circle to preside over the inconsequential conference in Saudi Arabia.

“Jeddah was Sullivan’s baby,” the official said. “He planned it to be Biden’s equivalent of [President Woodrow] Wilson’s Versailles. The grand alliance of the free world meeting in a victory celebration after the humiliating defeat of the hated foe to determine the shape of nations for the next generation. Fame and Glory. Promotion and re-election. The jewel in the crown was to be Zelensky’s achievement of Putin’s unconditional surrender after the lightning spring offensive. They were even planning a Nuremberg type trial at the world court, with Jake as our representative. Just one more fuck-up, but who is counting?

fire away! Mr We evil!!

The author of the third (7:45pm) comment seems to be trying very hard to get his portrait into the next edition of The Color Atlas of Modern Proctology. How narcissistic, or drunk, or both, do you have to be to demand answers from someone whose username you insist on altering in idiotic ways, while assuming that he will politely address you by yours (point 'd')? If he'll wipe the spittle off his screen and try to argue like some kind of hominid, I'll be glad to address his 'arguments', such as they are.

The RedSox have won the first two games of a three game series at Yankee stadium. I will not comment on the particulars while the series is ongoing. Suffice it to say the Yankees are the target of the series.

Click through and you'll find it.

My original plan was to have 4. I decided less is more. Didn't fix the title. Thanks for the prompt. Fixed now.

Weather Channel touts severe risk. On the same page it says "Marginal Risk" for high winds and flooding. Total forecast rainfall today: 2". Forecast rainfall tomorrow: 0.5". Mmmkay.

Obvious explanation is, the missing photo captured the moment "Fredo" was shot.

Connect the dots, always.

By the way, anyone who quotes Syd Blumenthal as an authority on Ukraine is a damned fool or a knowing Russian propagandist. S.B. was proven to be the latter on July 27th, when he quoted a "US official" calling Zelenskyy "a poor waif in his underwear", which many pointed out is a "a phrase never before uttered in English, that just so happens to be the translation of a Russian saying". Blumenthal's "US official" was in fact his Russian handler. Here's a link for Blumenthal's words; my last quotation is the linker's comment in the next tweet.

Clap him in irons! What more proof do we need?!?

This is Joe Biden's war, and Americans have no interest in it, other than getting it to a swift closure before it flares into WW3. This is between Ukraine and Russia, they should settle it. If Kiev doesn't like that, they should have honored Minsk II, which they signed, and then rejected because it didn't allow them into NATO and their US masters were very unhappy about that. Minsk II would have kept Ukraine intact, it just would have allowed the ethnic Russians in The Ukraine the same kinds of rights that Quebec has within Canada.

After simply ignoring Minsk II, Kiev says that they did it because Russia was untrustworthy, and so agreements with Russia never need be honored. This is also the US position, apparently, although we are not so open about it. Let's see how this works out now that Kiev's side is getting ground down, and the US wants to negotiate. Why should Russia negotiate with either Kiev or the US, when both ignore deals that they had signed? I don't see why. I think that Russia is done with the West. No deals can be made which the West will actually honor. The history of the conflict shows that.

Lying shill 'tim in vermont' can't even admit that his glib and boring ally's source Syd Blumenthal has been proven to be quoting "US officials" who are in fact Russian propagandists. No one's saying he needs to be jailed, just ignored as a Russian propagandist and a liar. Does 'tim' agree?

As for his supposedly devastating question "Why should Russia negotiate with either Kiev or the US, when both ignore deals that they had signed?", that's a stupid question and ignores the fact that Russia and its Donbas puppets ignored the Minsk II agreement from the start.

More intelligent would be "Why should Kyiv [only assholes spell it Kiev] or the U.S. negotiate with Russia, which blatantly ignores every damned deal it has ever signed, most pertinently the 1994 Budapest agreement in which Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons in return for a guarantee of its territorial integrity?" The fact that the Russians openly insist that Ukraine must be utterly destroyed as an independent nation is also pertinent: Russia is not interested in any kind of negotiation that is not a surrender. And Russia continues to commit every possibly war crime on a very large scale, which is just fine with 'tim in vermont'.
