The puzzling obscurity of Kamala Harris.

This is not at all puzzling.

Harris was installed as a failed candidate with a fake "Black" racial profile, and then soon lost the respect of the Party inner circle and proved that she cannot put two coherent words together.

Her word salads make Grandpa Joe seem coherent. Marionettes. Puppets.

It’s not like anyone ever read the book.

Quemala!

The Jeopardy clue says she's a daughter of human rights activists. That's probably what confused the contestants.

Needs Sean Connery

Hilarious. I guarantee you, Joe Biden wouldn't have gotten that either.

Was Harris the "daughter of civil rights activists"? Really? Her mother was a medical reseacher, her father was a Jamaician Stanford University Economics professor. Futher, she left the Bay area for canada when she fairly young.

I suppose her Indian mother and Jamaican father SUPPORTED civil rights. Maybe they did a few protests in the Bay Area in the 60s, but labeling them "Civil Rights Activists" like they were Martin Luther King, seems to be overstating it.

And the women host is terrible. Her voice is annoying! They couldn't find a better female host?

BTW, it is strange how Harris has been hidden away. We SHOULD be seeing her everywhere. The first Female VP. The first black VP. THe first..the first...the first...

But we never see her. Maybe the more you see her, the less you like her. Better keep her out-of-sight. I still think she will be POTUS. Biden can't live forever.

At least she can see that can be, unburdened by what has been.

So there is that at least

It is very important to remember that I guess. As she repeats it over and over. Most recently at West Point graduation.

It is a hell of a thing when the next in line to a doddering president is a hack whose main (sole?) political talent is fellatio

Harris's father was an alien econ prof for 50 years till he became a citizen i 2015

Mom was a biologist. looks like a non-citizen as well.

I see no evidence of civil rights activity

Reminds me very much of this. People really don't think about her at all lol!

I think it was the inclusion of 'The Truths We Hold' that threw them. It might not occur to anyone that Kamala Harris could "pen" much of anything, and certainly nothing involving truth.

Well. In their defense, her parents weren't "civil rights activists", she was never elected to the vice presidency, and she has never written a book.

Nikki Haley is onto something here since saying over the weekend that every Republican “is actually running against Kamala since we all know Joe is not going to finish his term. Excellent framing of the issue and wow what a cultural moment when people smart enough to be on Jeopardy can’t even get this one.

It makes complete sense. A properly operating human brain doesn't recognize any connection between "Kamala Harris" and "truth."

"The daughter of two university professors" would've given it away.

Yes, they should've gotten it anyway, but this suggests no one believed KH's bullshit stories about the civil rights movement as a kid.

Disagree. They both have at least one "r". And an "h".

Because she is so stunningly stupid and vapid, the media have been forced to work hard at not airing anything she says or does. By next year, 95% of the country won't even remember who she is.

Ann Althouse said...

Maybe they worried that it could be the female VP of another country. But it was the first q in the category, ie, easy

It was Celebrity Jeopardy, and few people become a celebrity for being smart.

Looks like the topic and contestants were a good match.

(I had to strain to see the category, and at the end wondered who said "Wow.")

I’m thinking it’s the qualifier: daughter.
Daughter is to female as-
Female is to woman as-
Male is to woman as-
What is a woman, again?

I guess you could say that the 'Jeopardy' contestants failed to perform up to their expected minimum level of competency. But you could say the same about VP Harris, too.

Kamala Harris has written multiple books, starting with Smart on Crime, which I think was fiction, then TWO versions of the unfortunately titled The Truths We Hold, then the weighty children's book, Superheroes Are Everywhere!

It's a wonder she has time to do any vice presidenting.

No worries! Quemala’s window of opportunity has closed.

Chris Christie is fat, rested and ready to eat DeSantis’s lunch!

And everyone else’s lunch too!

To be fair, the "answer" isn't very clear. You have to think about what they are seeking for a moment or two.

MB said...

No one wants to say her name because they are afraid it will summon her.

Aren't we all trying to forget?

I don't know the backstory but I thoroughly enjoyed watching the clip about 5x. Thank you.

What is a woman?

Gunner said...

Even libtard extremist Wil Wheaton didn't get it. Ha Ha!

AndrewV said...

This reminds me of the story of the woman who had two sons. One went to sea, and the other became Vice President of the United States. Neither one of them were ever heard from again.

Anita said...

I was expecting the clue to end in the word "fweedom!" That would have delivered the answer immediately.

Another old lawyer said...

Maybe the contestants were worried about mispronouncing her first name.

Saint Croix said...

She's the first female acting president in U.S. history!

That's yuge!

And nobody noticed.

She's a walking black hole of identity politics. She checks all the boxes and everybody hates her.

Sucked her way to the top!

First president to make it from her knees!
