He was a closeted gay man and he started coming out to family and friends and he didn’t come out… he didn’t tell me until way later one night at a party at his apartment when I sort of confronted him after meeting a woman who used to date him when he was in college. I was like, Bob what happened, why you let this woman go? He looked right at me and told me, Lem I’m gay. I said, oh 😯. He looked at Johanna, another friend of ours standing nearby and said to her, I told him, I told Lem.
