O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,
Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

There's a Lake Medota too?

That was a pretty good rendition but the small plane solo was too loud.

Band members have played the Star Spangled Banner a million times. Nobody uses music. A lot of ad-libbing for your part. Not a favorite.

I miss my daughter being in college marching band at a very large football school. It was awesome. Covid ended it. Everyone she thought she loved and trusted turned on her when she questioned outdoor masking and vaccine mandates. “You just need to do what you’re asked to do to protect the vulnerable” “but these actions don’t protect the vulnerable” “anyone who questions the covid protocols for this organization can pack their stuff and get out“ — longtime much loved band director, also known for saying “band is a family forever and ever no matter what”

It broke her heart and people are shit and I will never ever forgive them for what they did to my child

I began to listen and thought I would post "thank you Meade" but by the end, the tears were pricking my eyes.

Same thing happens when I hear "Joy to the World" and "O Come All Ye Faithful".

Thanks Meade!

It's difficult to sing because it was intended to be, written for a private singing (and drinking) club.

I forgive you, Prof. It's the simple things that slip up us.

That's a heck of a story, Pants. Verily, as the Ancients recognized, people are no damn good.

If songs affect you, this will also.

The conductor was exiled from the USSR for 20 years. This is what he chose for the finale of his first concert upon his return.

Video quality is poor, but sound is not bad.
