Just a reminder:

The vaccine isn't a vaccine and doesn't prevent you from getting COVID19.\

This is the "hysteria" this cult member is talking about.

It seems like there were a lot of problems in the 2020 election that we should examine and prevent from happening in the future. This is "election denial." You know, like the Stacey Abrams denial. Or the Hillary Clinton denial of the 2006 election of Trump, who she said stole the election from her.

"Climate change" is debated, even among scientists and debate is the very essence of science. This is "rejection of science," according to Democrat cultists.

We need to lead these people to a new, promised land, where they can escape the Republicans . French Guyana, perhaps. And bring along some soft drinks.

Incidentally, we do believe that it's wrong for former presidents to keep classified Presidential documents in a furniture store in Chicago. ARREST THAT MAN!

Is it possible that THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES might be authorized to keep his own documents, and that the authority of THE PRESIDENT might be greater than that of the national librarian or the party apparatchics of the opposition party?

And might students have some degree of intellectual curiosity about what the "other side" has to say about any of these issues?

It is one thing to think a president should not take classified documents with him, but every past president, including Obama, has done this, and it is a whole different matter to try to imprison a president for doing this. Obama made copies for pres archives and kept the originals.
As to elections, H. Clinton kept claiming she really won and the dems have challenged many many particular votes. Challenging election results is part of the legal election system.

I’ve been told for decades that democrats do better with the youth vote than Republicans. No surprise considering public schools are the most socialist part of America society. As for the list, I can find Democrat examples for each. Abrams still denies her election but at least got her day in court and lost. Harris refused to take “Trump’s” vaccine, which was purely political, non-scientific decision when Covid spread was at its worse. And any Republican would be happy to hear Democrats hold Hillary responsible for mishandling classified documents. Republicans just disagree that a President can mishandle classified documents.

When I was in college, I would have been too busy doing political work to attend a workshop on how to rise up through the swamp. Such programs, and jobs, are for people whose mommies and daddies are going to get them internships by throwing wads of cash at candidates.

Amusingly, the pouty girl who refused to attend the GOP event was more right than she knew when she said the GOP should come over to her side.

I was thinking today about why the GOP rank and file has turned its back on the elites in our country. Then I remembered how outraged the elites were NOT (1) when Lois Lerner and her crew torpedoed the Tea Party using the IRS process as a weapon, and (2) when the gang at the FBI headquarters kept the Russia collusion hoax going for two years when they knew it was phony in January 2017, and (3) when the Attorney General said that upset parents at local school boards were a potential terrorist threat and got a national campaign going using the FBI to intimidate such people, and (4) when January 6 rioters were locked up in the DC jails for months and years while George Floyd rioters were released the next day, and (5) when the powers that be used swat team tactics on the former president of the USA in a dispute over record storage, and (6) when a controversial election yielded historically anomalous results in the midst of a pandemic and no one is even permitted to discuss what happened without being labeled a liar by the press, and so forth.

These dim commenters at WaPoo probably haven't even registered any of this stuff. I know my liberal friends have not. I have a high degree of tolerance in one-on-one discussions, but I am starting to feel contempt for some of my friends, who cannot even empathize with people who believe there is something wrong at the top of our society. Maybe a cold, dark winter will cause them to start questioning the pieties of their essentially animistic green doctrines, and start embracing real science regarding the geophysical history of Planet Earth and the history of mankind. There was the Great Depression. Nobody had jobs. Then there was WWII and a big part of the population was overseas fighting for their lives. Then that was over and most people were back at home and had jobs. That was when politics "worked" and wasn't "broken." It "worked" when people were pretty much on the same page with similar values and expectations. Politics "worked" when it didn't impinge on your life and you could basically ignore it.

The idea that activism is going to make us love politics is a mistaken one. Some people love a movement, a crusade, eventful political eras, but for most people putting our whole way of life up for decision every 2 or 4 years is unsettling, and those eras when we do look to government for answers have fortunately not lasted long. Politics and government are the top of the iceberg. 7/8ths of life is the what happens outside of political activity and if people are okay with that, they don't mind the politics and put up with it.

Regarding "secular creationists": it's another phrase with an intensifying adjective that's too often used to make the entire phrase mean something completely different than the unmodified phrase. Compare "unilateral disarmament". To speak of "creationists" without a modifier, we are speaking of those who assert that the physical world is a creation of a creator, and often such creationists further assert the Jewish/Christian scriptures offer insight into the intent of The Creator. But Muslims and other religious believers preach creation stories, and are --properly-- protected in the US by the First Amendment in making assertions that may dispute other religions, or science. In particular the stories of "North American First Peoples" (a.k.a. "Indians") asserting the creation of the Land and the ownership of the Land to a particular People (Tribe, the ones telling the tale) is spoken of a worthy of social respect. Worth preserving. BUT, to speak of SECULAR creationists is to accuse specifically Fundamentalist Christian believers of deceitfully claiming the protections of Free Speech and Free Exercise in order to impose a creation story into discourse and curriculum that must NOT be preserved, but excised. It must be DIS-repected. The phrase calls listeners to strip away the neutral "secular" disguises and dog-whistles ("creator" means "Jehovah", "Creation" means "Eden", "Evolution" is a theory means " a wild guess"). I suggest it's just as fair to engage Fundamentalist Christians on the defects of their creation assertions as a basis for instruction on biology as it is to engage Mary Baker Eddy's "Christian Science" believers about "reading rooms", or Jehovah's Witnesses about blood transfusion. But I find it an offensive passive aggressive trigger to re-label opponents in a debate as a means of challenging -- not their assertions, but their bona fides.

Anybody up for another such term? "Gender affirming care" ? How 'bout we spay and castrate all the chubby weird pubescents emotionally struggling -- failing to cope with-- the ways in which their own bodies are changing in ways indenpendent of their choice or control?

There were 4 National Merit scholars in my HS graduating class of 400. The lone female of the 4 received full scholarship offers, the other 3- including me with a 1510, the high score in the school, didn't. She's went to one of the Seven sisters, and is now mightily contributing to society as a professor of feminism. Written books on how unfair the treatment of women in US society is.

Since I live in a small town, it's easyto keep track of how the top of each class does. In the last 20 years or so, every female student graduating 1st or 2nd in the class has received multiple full scholarship offers. None of the males have. White male privelege at work.

Academia awards more value to minority or female status then test scores and academic accomplishment. And has for at least a full generation. And the professions that build and accomplsh things, engineers and scientists, are still dominated by- white males. Who ar discriminated against at every level.

One of my sons- #2 in his HS class, after a stint in the Army, went to college and got his EE degree, paid for by the VA due to 50% disability. He and another white male veteran, both in the top 20% of the graduating class, were the last two hired. All of the minorities and most of the females were hired befor graduation and stepped tight into their jobs. Engineering classes are small, tehy all keep in touch. Withing 5 years after graduation, none of the female graduates was working as an engineer. One of the minorities, hired at the same company he was, didn't make it through his probationary period.

If academia had their way, the next generation of scientists would be hired soley on a diversity index scale. Unlike academia, scientists and engineers actually need to produce positive results.

Conservative students are probably among the smartest. They understand the lay of the land going in, that being openly conservative will not help them in the liberal college bastion and can really hurt them. So they say nothing or just parrot the platitudes as needed. I was in college in the early '70s, during the Vietnam endgame and it was pretty liberal hot then. Nixon's change from selective to a lottery* for the draft really inflamed a lot of passion. It was well understood that when a liberal professor or TA asked for an opinion that what they wanted was their opinion in your own words. The logic class in the fall of '72 was particularly painful as every class up to the first Tuesday in November was patterned to demonstrate why McGovern was the logical choice over Nixon.

*Unlike some, I think Nixon got the power to bring Vietnam to a close by moving the draft to the lottery system. As long as selectors (local important community members) chose who to draft in a district and, surprise, most of the selected were lower class whites and the minorities, the broad swath of the middle class supported the fight against the commies. The lottery put the children of all classes in danger and, as a result, the middle class support for the war collapsed.
